Liverpool Thread

Re: Liverpool Thread

Yeah he'd be a good signing.

You're being linked with Tuncay as well, I cant make my mind up on him though, it's hard to tell how good he is as he was at Boro.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Tuncay is decent, but I don't think he's world class.

He'd be better off going to Everton or someone like that where he can shine in a hardworking team.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Still isn't as bad as ours, Dossena just doesn't suit the english game.

Re: Liverpool Thread

tbh i think a lot's being made about the debt of English clubs at the minute and it's all a bit over the top. It's basically just people scaremongering, a lot of the top clubs are in a lot of debt but the chances of it actually hurting them are very slim.

United are in a worse financial situation than us, and they've just won the league and got to the Champions' League final after buying players for more huge amounts of money, nobody is suggesting that they might go bust. But because of this agenda people have got against Hicks and Gillett, it is always Liverpool that are in the biggest danger.

Re: Liverpool Thread

But if Hicks and Gillette go bankrupt, you'll in theory be docked points, just like Southampton. That's the concern. United have a larger debt, but they've had no problems to date paying of the interest. The point about H&G is that they may not be able to pay off the debt, at which case they'd default, go bankrupt and be basically screwed.

(or at the last second an uber rich arab will come in and buy pool outright.)

Re: Liverpool Thread

Docked points and see G&H leave and we get a proper chairman? Interesting dilemma. If G&H stay, we could be screwed for years so sacrificing points next season might benefit us in the long run.

Although nothing to say a new chairman might be just as shit I suppose.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Best option is for G&H to sell. Worst case Kop holdings is declared insolvent and we start the season on -9 points, but on the plus the club would be sold as a going concern. At least we are profitable even if the yanks company isn't.

Re: Liverpool Thread

-10 points. Would probably mean we'd be relying on Chelsea to prevent the Mancs from getting to 19 before us.

I don't like that idea?

BUT....if it's better in the long run.

Obviously the ideal situation is a buy out....NOW. There is talk of an Indian company interested. GMR?

Re: Liverpool Thread

Yes, this is the Liverpool thread. No need to shout about it!

;)

As for G+H, they need to p!$$ off. They havent done anything good besides get rid of Coco and place the club in danger. Really need a ridiculously rich owner, with good business sense, that isn't "effected" by the economy. After all the club itself is doing well with a 10mil profit, which can only be increased if they continue to do good overseas marketing.

Re: Liverpool Thread

So, a formal bid for Lavezzi.

Hope we get this done pretty soon. As long as it's not more than 16-17M, I'd be happy. He'd add a new dimension to our side.

Re: Liverpool Thread

It is up to you guys, Juve and Athletico and seeing as Juve have withdrawn their interest in Lavezzi....
This could possibly be the best post - Torres signing for you guys IMO

Re: Liverpool Thread

Where is he likely to fit in with us? I've seen people say he's a winger, a support forward and a striker, so where would he play for us? Right wing maybe?

Re: Liverpool Thread

Best position is as a second striker but he has the necessary attributes to play out wide, which is where I see him fitting in, unless Rafa moves Gerrard out wide and plays Lavezzi behind Torres.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Managed to watch a bit more of Lavezzi, and......JEEEBUS he's quick, bloody strong for his physique too.

Reminds me of Tevez, just alot quicker, same work-rate and goal threat.

It'll be great to have some one who can switch to either flank or attack through the centre with pace and tenacity.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Alonso wont be going, I'm pretty confident of that.

And now we've got Mascherano's agent touting a move to Barca. I'd sack my agent on the spot if he started coming out with shite saying he "believes" things but not that I've actually said I want to join a club. Idiots, bloody hate agents.

Re: Liverpool Thread

They should just sell a sticky black piece that you can put on an old shirt. Really, shirts these days are a fucking rip-off.
