you dont need to be a dick about it, im just saying you cant compare the two players, and ive never said no medals means that the players are shite, Torres is world class, medals or not

I jumped on the Vidic one as you were the one who pointed out that Vidic is better because he's won more medals in the 3 1/2 years. Your "banter" is rubbish, at least come up with something worth debating rather than the "medals = better player".

he's only been here 3 1/2 seasons..

sheasy has had a similar length career...

I jumped on the Vidic one as you were the one who pointed out that Vidic is better because he's won more medals in the 3 1/2 years. Your "banter" is rubbish, at least come up with something worth debating rather than the "medals = better player".

There's no "real" way of comparing who's the better player, it's a personal opinion. So just give up with this medals nonsense, it's pointless.

I give up, you've really go no clue whatsoever. Medals DO NOT equal skill. As Daz said, Torres is world class. So you'd have said some Barcelona 2nd-rate striker is better than Torres because he'd have won more trophies than Torres due to play in a better team with better players?

You haven't got a clue, really. You keep going back to medals equal skill and it's just not a factor in anything. :BYE:

I always saw Hyypia as being a great professional, consistent performer and loyal servant. He was unlucky to lose the captaincy to Stevie Me, a move that surprised me because Hyypia is a great role model for younger players compared to the starfish diving and court case antics of Gerrard.

Yeah the medals argument is pretty stupid imo.

But Rio is a better defender than Hyypia.

:)

Good win today, keeps the pressure on us. But if we can just beat City...finish line is very very close.

Then again, they beat us last year so who knows...

hey ho, an intriguing end to the season none the less.

Coming 2nd and being so hard to beat, AND doing the double over Mancs and Chavs= amazing season, just not as amazing as it could have and should have been, or maybe still will be.

Come on Robinho, Elano et co, pull your finger out and give the blue half of Manchester something to smile about for once!!

not everyone is spoiled with winning a championship every year, liverpool have had a pretty amazing season if you ask me.

rio > hyppia for me, but im a united fan so my choice is obvious. id expect it to be the same from an equally biased liverpool fan lol.

Amazing is a bit OTT.

I just wonder if you lot will be able to consistently challenge for the title in the next few seasons, or will Chelsea and Arsenal sort themselves out and challenge for the title ahead of you guys, like the previous seasons.

I think you have to agree that our team is miles better than it was in previous seasons, Chelsea and Arsenal simply had better players previously.

I don't think it's a case of Arsenal and Chelsea "sorting themselves out" and they suddenly go ahead of us at all, that's basically saying we're only challenging because they've had poor seasons and is disregarding our team and season in which we've only lost two games all season. We're where we are on merit, not because other teams haven't had good seasons.

Yeah I agree, Liverpool have definitely improved this season, thats clear, but Arsenal's massive injury problems and Chelsea's constant changing of manager etc have definitely affected their seasons. At the end of the day you finish where you finish, you cant expect Liverpool and United to lose a couple of games so the others can keep up (oh wait United did that already last month ;)) ) so if Liverpool finish second then that's where they deserve to be.

mate, we could quite easily have been in the CL semis, and who knows what might have happened.

Okay, knocked out of the FA cup, by our local rivals, Everton who have gone onto the final, erm whilst knocking you out to.

We've done the double over Chelsea, your horrible lot, and didn't lose to Arsenal either. Were top of the table as we speak, 2 games away from the end of the season (albeit temporarily), that in itself is amazing. We've made you sweat, don't deny it!

Chelsea's constant changing of manager? Not our fault is it, as long as Roman is still there that will continue. People have said we are lucky because Chelsea got off to a bad start? Erm, they got off to a flyer and then dipped in the middle of the season, we then beat them 2-0 at Anfield and Scolari was sacked, even though they were still in the title race.

By that logic, can't we say youre lot are lucky to be where you are, if we beat the teams at home that we should have beat, instead of draws, in games where we have goals dissalowed for example, we would actually be in a commanding lead. Or continuing in that direction, if our two key attacking players had actually had a decent run of games together???

Arsenal sold themselves out of the title race last summer, but Arsene insists it was the right thing, not a mistake, they still have a LONG way to go to come close to challenging you.

This season will attract more players, and if the rumours are true we will have a decent kitty in the summer.

Also taking into account we've had injury problems and that Gerrard and Torres (our best players) have only been able to start 12 games this season together, which is crazy. Injuries have affected us in a big way this season also unfortunately :(

Likewise Hargreaves has been missing for United so you can only work with what you're given. And looking at our season as a whole, if you told me we'd be where we are now at the start of the season, I'd have gladly taken it :)
