And besides the lampard one they have all been bad/late and justified.

You really know you're in trouble when lucas scores against you! :D

Ive noticed that he does get on a surprising amount of headers in the box, just usually doesn't score with them. Don't think he is worth keeping tbh, just don't think he is suited to english football. Although if he accepts being 3rd/4th choice its worth keeping him.

I'd rather we played Spearing than Lucas. He just doesn't fill me with any confidence whatsoever and, as Tik says, I don't think he's suited to the English league really.

I think hes done fine in some massive Matches, thought he was brilliant at Old Trafford, and did well in place of Alonso in a few other games too.

confidence is his problem, getting slated and being made the scapegoat for poor performances from some of the bigger untouchables probably doesn't help.

Just hearing that Sami Hyypia has agreed to join Bayer Levekusen on a 2yr contract at the end of the season,

a legend is leaving :(

Its just appeared on the official site. He has been a great player for the club and probably one of the best bits of business ever

a true legend, i'm gutted to see him go but i hope he does well in Germany.

Hyypia was my favourite player for a long time and was the first name/number i ever got on a football shirt when my brother got me the 2001 away kit (gold/navy one) with Hyypia 12 on the back, as he was buying it in the club store Sami was standing behind him! He said to my brother "hey, that's a good name." and my brother got a bit star struck haha, Hyypia offered to sign it, quality. I can't wait for his testimonial, which he is owed after 10 years service.




in other news, there's a very strong rumour coming from good sources that Liverpool have agreed a £9m deal for Gareth Barry and Lucas will be leaving for £6m in the summer.

He is still our best defender, when given the chance.

Fucking legend is our Sami. Never seen a more aerially dominant defender, and he's up there with Ayala, Cannavaro as the best defenders of the last decade.

but i hope u were joking aswell when u compared sami to the likes of cannavaro and ayala :P

it's a shame hyppia is leaving though. nice player, and a true legend for every liverpool fan :))

EDIT: found it, that was on porpoise he meant to hit alonsos legs at least alonso is still intact he could be out like Eduardo for a whole year..

hmmmmm,

I wanted to see Lucas stay, but.....no doubt he has talent but probably not suited to the prem, while Barry is a seasoned prem pro.

Nah, he's got one year left on his contract and he's been there long enough to buy out the remainder of his contract aswell.

How much would it cost for Barry to do that? I'd be suprised if he went that far. he was the club captain before would be a real below the belt move.

I think its his remaining salery. I remember awhile ago they were saying Lampard would do it to join Jose and it would only be 3mil. So for Barry probably 2/ 1,5 mil. However they have to give notice but Im not sure how early.

I don't think Lampard was ever going to do that. All the major clubs have agreed to not use that rule. I don't think Villa count in that though.

Heh, maybe I did go a bit over the top there. Not really up there with Cannavaro and Ayala in their prime, but he's just a level below for me. And certainly one of the best in the Premier League in recent years.

Still, there's no one as aerially dominant as he is :P
