Liverpool Thread

Re: Liverpool Thread

What is the point of Lucas?! Havent seen him do anything of note besides being lazy in a challenge. He has no speed, he mostly passes 10yards to the side or back, he can't shoot, he's not strong.......So why play him behind Torres?! Really don't see the point, put Kuyt/beni there and Babel or Reira on the left and you'll have far more speed in attack and more strenght in possesion. And they can all shoot, well beni doesn't untill he's beaten atleast 5 or 6 players but when he does he has a good shot!

Re: Liverpool Thread

agreed, lucas just still not cutting it in the prem.

Lucky to have the lead at HT, we've been poor, the defence looks as shaky as I've ever seen it, but if we keep chopping and changing that will happen!

Maybe play Reira behind Torres?

He can hold it up and he's a target if we have to go direct, he can beat a man too.

Re: Liverpool Thread

2-0 10 men game over job done

It ain't over til the fucking whistle is blown.. you lot should know that after being 4-3 down in the last 2 mins and people saying we've lost ground on United only for Yossi to pop up n nick a point!

Re: Liverpool Thread

always in the bag, beyond the pale....;)

Hull to go down for me.

Fans just constantly boo, and cheer when they get dodgy freekicks, or everytime they get a throw in.

They were appluading a man for kicking a player off the ball.

Hull quite physical today - a few naughty challenges going around. At least the ref knew that you can't get away with K-1 against another player! Hull showed a bit of fight, although I always felt we had a bit of room to spare. El Zhar looking more impressive every game he comes on (super dribble and quick feet in the build up to goal 3) and Insua surely going to be a great player considering the age he is )although his marking was slack for Hull's solitary goal). Lucas? Again, pffft.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Surprise, surprise - dodgy penalty decision give United the kick up the arse they needed that was never coming and they go on to destroy Spurs.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Ah, league over for me now.

We gave it a hell of a go though, and it's given us invaluable experience for the coming years. And all this without our two best players for the majority of the season.

Re: Liverpool Thread

It does seem strange in hindsight that Utd are stalling over paying for Tevez and couldn't hand over it quick enough for Berbatov for around the same amount. I think that possibly Utd thought they were getting another Cantona.

Tevez and Torres up front? Would be interesting....

Re: Liverpool Thread

I think Ferguson is stalling to try and get him for less. It could backfire though if you or City are willing to stump up the 30 million.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Still not giving up, but yesterday hurt, i realise yous lot scored five, but that first one was the key. Howard bloody webb.

its still not done united, you honestly think you will stroll past Arsenal/City/Boro(away)/Hull(away)

Re: Liverpool Thread

I still dont think it was that bad a decision even if Gomes did get the slightlest of touches. It's still hard to tell even if you watch the replay 450 times like Setanta showed it (so the impartial panel of Burley, McManaman and co could prove United are cheating scum bags), so if Webb had to make it first time then give him some room for error.

Why is nobody saying Liverpool might not have beat Hull if Mascherano hadnt DIVED for the freekick for the first goal? Because it wasn't on TV, it wasn't United and it was against Phil Brown who frankly noone gives a shit about. On MOTD they even went as far as saying it might have been a foul when it clearly wasn't. Folan's sending off was arguable too, he was fouled by Skrtel though he shouldn't have followed through.

Now we've got Redknapp publically critising Webb for the penalty decision, basically to deflect the attention away from the fact his lack of managerial skills meant his team crumbled under pressure and threw away a 2 goal lead by sitting back and waiting for it to happen. How is that supposed to help anyone?

The fact is now Mourinho's Chelsea have gone, we're back to the most hated team in the league and nobody wants us to win it again. This big hoohaa by almost every media outlet is ridiculous, every team gets dodgy decisions for and against them over the season, GET OVER IT. We were going to score at any minute anyway, don't try and kid yourselves into thinking it all hinged on the one debatable decision. You had 2 or 3 in your favour yourselves yesterday.

And I agree with you Peter, its far from over. We've got a tough run in against team's that could easily take points off us, I'm just glad to see us scoring again.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Liverpool game was on TV but only to viewers in Ireland as I scrolled through the Setenta channels there was a Setenta Ireland showing the game but neverless good post Jumbo!

Re: Liverpool Thread

A swing of the arm and a blatent kick whilst a player is on the ground?! And every defender does that to block players off. The masch foul was wrongly called though. Even Phil Brown has said it was a correct call for the red card!

Tbh I don't know what all the fuss is about regarding the penalty, it was very close and it's always going to favour the home team of the big 4. If anything conceding 5 goals in one half is a far more important issue.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Don't blame the ref. Blame Spurs and good old 'Arry for capitulating like that. If it wasn't for the title race, I'd fucking laugh at them.

I love how you mancs have a completely different view on it to the rest of the world, you're so paranoid and self-gratifying it's hilarious.

plus, it was never a penalty, it was a bad decision and only mancs (and a couple of evertonians i might add) think otherwise. Only a total cunt would think that Folan didn't deserve to get sent off. We had 1 bad decision go in our way yesterday and in my opinion Mascherano should now be given a yellow card once the referee watches the replays.
