Re: Liverpool Thread

Its been a horrible day today. Mainly because of the stick I've got off Liverpool fans.
You totally deserved it though. Hats off to you. This was a real lesson is taking your chances and you guys really made the most of yours.

But we've still got more to brag about. We have a game in hand and we're still on top so :BLEH:

Least they only won the title because we slipped up against the smaller teams
I hope you're laughing at yourself, mate. I remember Arsenal doing the double over us once and we still won the title.

Re: Liverpool Thread

meh Pool took a dump on OT...Most exciting football from Pool in 2 matches straight Torres made prawn sandwiches out of Vidic lol

Re: Liverpool Thread

Fernando Torres is a terrifying striker. How many strikers can outpace Ferdinand and then out muscle Vidic?

Re: Liverpool Thread

Hyppia was monumental yesterday, and Lucas was great, played well. Torres was huge, just imagine if he hadn't had that ankle tweaked. He would've eaten Rio alive lol.

Abh: What's that in your avatar? Let me guess, Gerrard doing the chicken dance in front of the camera? :P

Re: Liverpool Thread

and he wasn't even fully fit, he was operating on pure hatred, just as pumped up as he was for Madrid. He is officially a Liverpool legend.

Speical mention to Lucas indeed. Think he lost the ball once in the first half and then the BBC text commentary sunddenly turned on him saying hes having a shit game?! Twats.

Lucas is tidy with the ball, probably even more so than Xabi. And he has proven that his passing can be even more penetraiting, he needs a run of good games, and he will be an asset. He needs to get forward more as it is his natural game. Watching videos of him at Gremio, he was immense! goals from distance, chipping perfect balls into the box, just being a general nuisance around the box.

From RAWK again:

"*NEWSFLASH* Greater Manchester Police have arrested 14 men on suspicion of rape. The incident occurred between the hours of 1245 and 1445GMT on 14th March 2009 in the Old Trafford area. The multiple victims are believed to be confused, withdrawn and shit. Police are appealing to 75,569 witnesses to come forward, though it is believed only a small portion viewed the whole event.

:LMAO:

Re: Liverpool Thread

Torres is beyond believe. He really is. You can have your Eto's, Villa's and Aguero's, but let me tell you, not one striker in the world, not one, could have done what Torres did to United. And say what you want, HUGE credit to Rafa. He wasn't half the player he is now, and enormous amount of credit should go to Rafa.

@koolaje, yup, I loved the celebration. Saw it head on, Gerrard kissing the badge, and then kissing the camera. Was convinced it was our day after that.

Have to agree about Lucas. He was immense, and not just passing wise. Was all over the pitch yesterday. He's a talent. Bossed Anderson.

I agree he's an awesome player and IMO the best striker in the world. But lets face it, there were some real cock ups on our part to let some of those goals in.

Re: Liverpool Thread

It was a good performance but I've seen better against us at OT, namely Ronaldo's hat-trick in 2003. Fowler's brace in 1995 also stands out.

Cock ups there were, but I am specifically talking about him dealing with Vidic and Ferdinand. Not many players in the world have the physique and power to deal with them.

IMO opinion Eto'o would have, I think he's physically stronger and quicker than Torres as well as being more clinical.

Mate, I've said that Pool deserved it, they did, but if you think Torres owns Vida and Rio, you've clearly not seen him play us very often. He did very well to nick in ahead of Vida (but Vida was a moron) and he played a decent ball to Gerrard which Evra should have cleared. Oh and had one good move in the first half. He capitalised on a mistake. He certainly didn't run the show, he barely touched the ball for about 25 minutes before he came off.

Enjoy the win, but don't make him out to have owned the best defensive pairing in Europe!

Face the fact that torres simply ripped off "the best defensive pairing in Europe!" "he barely touched the ball for about 25 minutes before he came off. " - you guys lucky he didnt show the best of him. :LMAO:

Re: Liverpool Thread

yeah, to be fair every other time torres has played against us rio has had him in his pocket. hes pretty good, not the best striker in the world imo though.

No im laughing at Dossena putting the icing on the 4-1 cake :)

I think that Lucas wasnt that good. He lost a LOT of balls in the midfield that could have been goal for United.

Re: Liverpool Thread

I'll be laughing in May, knowing that even though you took 6 points off us for the first time in donkeys years, you were still powerless to stop us picking up our 18th League title.:D

Meh, that hurts.

Fucking Stoke City!!

Here's an interesting article from espnstar.com

By Eugene YS Han

2 - Steven Gerrard's second penalty scored against United at Old Trafford this season in the league, after Geovanni bagged for Hull.

2 - Gerrard's goal is only the second time this season an Englishman has scored against United in the BPL, the first being a Wes Brown OG.

5 - There has been four red cards in the last five meetings between Man United and Liverpool - Nemanja Vidic (twice), Javier Mascherano and Paul Scholes.

9 - Liverpool have now won nine of the 33 matches with Man United winning 18 in the BPL.

13 - Liverpool have scored more than one goal for the first time in a League game at Old Trafford with their 13th attempt.

17 - Man United suffered their heaviest home defeat since losing 4-1 against QPR on New Year' Day 17 years ago in 1992. Dennis Bailey bagged a hat-trick for QPR.

73 - Liverpool's 4-1 win at Old Trafford was their biggest at that ground since 1936 - 73 years ago.

100 - Saturday's win gave Rafa Benítez his 100th league win as Liverpool manager in his 181st game. He is third on the all-time list with only Kenny Dalglish (167) and Bob Paisley (179) ahead of him. By comparison it took Alex Ferguson 231 games to achieve the feat.

As Vanizzle (where is he lately?) says, these are FAKHS! ;)

Re: Liverpool Thread

MANCHESTER United used text messages to inform fleeing supporters of Saturday's defeat by Liverpool as thousands left Old Trafford early and caught the train back to London.

Image
There's no point spending more time in Manchester than you have to
It is the first time the club has used its new £20 a month subscription service which also includes a selection of talking points, a football 'word of the day' and the names of key players from both teams.

Julian Cook, a season ticket holder from Primrose Hill, said: "How ghastly. Does that mean that Liverpool win the big cup? Or is it just the league thingy?

"As long as it wasn't the big European whatsit because I've arranged to meet up with some friends in Barcelona next month and do a bit of shopping."

As the final whistle blew on Saturday only three United fans remained in the ground after their wheelchair helpers gave up and headed to the car park.

Liverpoool manager Rafa Benítez said: "At first I think Ferguson do this deliberate as some kind of spooky mind game in latest pathetic attempt to drive me insane.

"But then I realise that United fans are very busy peoples with Blackberries who no have time to see their team lose."

Meanwhile Man Utd manager Mr. Ferguson was banned from giving post-match television interviews after producers decided that the rapidly changing colours of his incandesecent face could trigger thousands of epileptic fits.

Speaking off-camera he said: "I felt we were better than Liverpool, although the score doesn't reflect that. I also feel that Ho Chi Minh City is just outside of Knutsford, although the Ordnance Survey map doesn't reflect that."

Sorry Mancs, got to enjoy it while we can :)

Re: Liverpool Thread

Yep enjoy it, We've won 2 trophies already, in the FA Cup, CL and top of the League. If losing to you lot means we get number 18 and the possibility of taking everything then so be it. :))

Re: Liverpool Thread

I've had a lousy day at work, had stick all day and some kind soul had decorated my locker. Like you said Dags, enjoy it, I know I would if the boot was on the other foot.

Re: Liverpool Thread

I think that Lucas wasnt that good. He lost a LOT of balls in the midfield that could have been goal for United.

Well compared to the last few outings he had, Saturday's game was the best so far from him this season, even with those mistakes, so I was happy for him.
