Arbeloa
Carragher
Agger
Dossena

Babel
Lucas
Mascherano
Riera

N'gog
Keane

Re: Liverpool Thread

Cavalieri and Dossena in the same team = fail

Re: Liverpool Thread

N'gog has been utter rubbish, hasn't offered a single thing to the team. Can't say Lucas or Keane have been any good either.

Babel, Mascherano, Agger and Carragher are the only ones who can hold their heads high here.

Lazy performance, lacking creativity and no imagination from the forwards.

Bloody PSV falling over constantly since they get the lead as well

Edit: Be careful what you wish for Abhi, he starts to become more ball-greedy and now he's taking shots when he REALLY should pass :(

Ngog rubbish? He hasn't gotten a chance to shine really, this is the first game that he started and finished it with a goal, so can't be that bad. Thought Lucas did okay.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Lucas set up two of the goals and had a good game really.

Top of the Cl group with a record points total and top of the premier league.

Keep it up lads.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Benitez: Liverpool won't win the title

RAFA BENITEZ wrote off Liverpool’s title chances and admitted: It ain’t going to happen.
The Reds are top of the Premier League going into tomorrow’s trip to Hull.

But boss Benitez said: “For us to win the league we need Chelsea, Man United and Arsenal to mess up their season.

"It is very rare that three teams all mess up.

“So there’s no point waiting for our direct adversaries to slip up because it won’t happen.

“They all have a lot greater financial means than us.”

It is an astonishing admission from Spaniard Benitez which will not go down well in the corridors of power at Anfield.

American owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett do not want to hear anyone dismissing Liverpool’s hopes of landing the title for the first time since 1990.

The Reds are one point clear of second-placed Chelsea and six ahead of Manchester United, who have a game in hand.

Former Valencia chief Benitez is hoping to land a new deal.

But he added: “For me, Valencia and Liverpool are similar — for them to win, the bigger clubs have to do badly.

“When I won La Liga with Valencia that’s what happened, Real Madrid and Barcelona were in transition, so it was easier.”

kwalitee stuff from... the sun haha
but in other news:

Andrea Dossena today revealed how he is putting in extra hours on the training ground to help find his best form.

The 27-year-old Italian has found it hard to establish himself in the first team since arriving from Udinese in July - but an upturn in form against West Ham and PSV bodes well for the future.

In an interview with Liverpoolfc.tv, Dossena put this improvement partly down to staying late at Melwood.

"I have asked to work even harder because I want to find my best form," said the left-back.

"I have been doing extra running and work in the gym as well as other things that are open to all of the team. I have been staying after training to do this.

"Working with Rafa Benitez has been very good. He focuses on the details, which helps you to improve.

"Every day he gives you advice, and also during the match. He does this with every player."

Dossena added: "It has not been easy at the beginning but I think things are better now.

"It's very different from Italian football but I am getting used to it. The game is less physical there. There is more pressure when you are on the ball in England. And another thing is that the pitches are always wetter here!

"I would like to improve defensively. I am only just starting to reach my best level and I hope fans will see that soon."

-Liverpoolfc.tv

glad to see him working hard. hope he does find his best form! makes you wonder which of the other players stay after hours to train.. I would say Kuyt (he better be, it's paying off too), Keane (he better be), Carra, hell probably all of the other non-first teamers better be. Stevie better be too.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Has Fergie done that before? I know he does that for matches sometimes, but the league? Not that I believe Rafa said this anyway. From what I know the Sun is garbage?

Re: Liverpool Thread

Arsenal have more financial resources than Liverpool...erm...
Maybe overall, but Pool's current squad cost a helluva a lot more than l'arsenal's...

Re: Liverpool Thread

What is it with the media and anti-Liverpool bias? Maybe I read too much into it, but watching sky from here in Japan, it seems every "know-sod-all about-football-despite-being-a-mediocre-premier-league-professional" pundit favours Chelsea or Man Utd or even Arsenal above Liverpool.

Well I can't think of any "pundit" who picked Liverpool to take the league BEFORE the season started, so maybe they're just sticking to their guns.

Or maybe because your the only side that hasnt won it for 18 years out of the lot and dont have the experience to win the title:))

Obviously everyone is still expecting you to have your obligatory cock-up and ruin your season.

Re: Liverpool Thread

FFS, you could just see Rafa had told them to control the game in the 2nd half. Didn't do any good as we were all over them for the 1st.

Re: Liverpool Thread

someone tell me how Dirk Kuyt played the full match today please, he was fucking garbage all game, he wasted chance after chance.

Carragher was utter shite as well, made far too many mistakes.

the strange thing is, after they went 2-0 up we played some of our best football all season, we were attacking brilliantly but couldn't finish. Really fucking frustrating.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Why was keane bought again? I thought it was someone to help turn draws into wins? Clearly not, lucas is obviously the better goalscorer according to rafa. Great.

For the 1st half yeah, but the 2nd was flat. You could just tell Rafa bottled it and went for control.

Why was keane bought again?

I know, what is the point. After last season we all know a loss and a win is worth more points then 2 bloody draws. Just go for it FFS. We did in the first half, scored two and could of scored a few more.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Silly mistakes (carra, dossena etc)

poor finishing, poor sub choice, negative starting lineup (two holding midfielders)

we need Torres back ASAP or our season is going to go flat. Too many points dropped at Home so far.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Dossena was again awful yesterday - has nobody told himhow to stop a cross coming in? Also have to question Lucas being on instead of Keane. Without SG we would have been toothless there yesterday.

Re: Liverpool Thread

I wonder if you lot will even get buyers? How much will you want/think you can get back for him 10M? Owen would be a good buy IMO.

Re: Liverpool Thread

We'll see but not bringing him on when your drawing against Hull at Anfield and playing Kuyt ahead of him doesnt bode well.

Re: Liverpool Thread

We got let off the hook guys. But HONESTLY we should be killin 'em!

As for Keane, just cause he was 20 mil doesn't mean Rafa has to play him. Furthermore, just cause he's not playing doesn't mean we selling either. Rafa is a cut throat, but he has patience. That's why he's a badass lulz

Re: Liverpool Thread

Why play 5 midfields when playing at home against Hull? Looked very much like last season's tactics are back.
