Liverpool Thread

Re: Liverpool Thread

I'll take that every time. Never expected an easy game after we won on Sunday, and Redknapp left. To be fair, we were knocking on their doors the whole game, and should have scored earlier if it weren't for some poor finishing. It's another challenge we've lived upto of maintaining our winning form after going on top. Rotation now is necessary, as we have something like 9 games in the space of 4 weeks. If there was a game to rotate, it was this one.

We'll have Masch, Agger, Keane, Riera, and hopefully Torres (atleast on the bench) back for the Spurs game.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Extremely pissed off. Dominated the game for 70 mins, and then we just let it go.

Re: Liverpool Thread

What the fuck was the defence thinking for their second?!

Fucking stuffy bastards.

Deja vu. We dominate games, don't kill them off, and lose.

For fucks sake.

And the Spurs fans dancing around at the end of the match. I'm sorry but you were shite, you didn't even deserve a draw so don't be acting like you should've got anything from that.

Fucks sake!

Re: Liverpool Thread

Had to happen to us sometime. First loss is out of the way. Important how we bounce back.

Re: Liverpool Thread

FFS.

That had to happen to us, we just haven't scored enough this season, and never really look like doing so when Torres isn't on the pitch

We hit the post 3 times, and Alonso also had a clear header. Just wasn't our day I suppose.

Got to bounce back though. Nando coming back will help.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Yeh it might seem unlucky, but not hitting the post is all part of finishing your chances!

Need to wrap CL qualification up as quickly as possible. Then we have Torres back and a good run of games to do get a points haul.

Yup, how we bounce back is important. Nice easy run of fixtures for Nando to rack up the goals.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Got to hand it to spurs, they once again tactically out manouvered a top team. The tactic of being shite for 70/80 minutes to fool the opponent and then hitting them when they are totally cruising is working really well.

Tbh I wasn't surprised, after the 1st 15min of the 2nd half when we hit the post/bar and had quite a few decent moves that came to nothing I always thought they would score, they have some great attacking players after all.

Oh well, atleast the hype that it could be our year should die down again now.

After the shit start that they had, I think it's time Spurs fans had something to shout about. ;)

Re: Liverpool Thread

yeah exactly, what did you expect the spurs fans to do when they won the game?, jesus christ

SAME STORY from the emirates on wedesday then. they dances and celebrated as if they won the fucking title or somthing

Re: Liverpool Thread

Still absolutely fuming over the result.

Carra's had me pissed off this season. We know he makes great tackles and all that, but he's been responsible for most of our goals this season. We've done really well without Nando in our team, but I can't wait for him to back. You can see the no. of times our midfield passed between themselves, waiting for an opening but it didn't come. No one to hold the ball, no one to make the run towards goal, no one with genuine pace. Nice run of winnable games until the Arsenal game, and we've got to go on another winning streak.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Carra's OG was inexplicable. These things happen, its football. You dominate for 80mins hit the post numerous times and then end up getting beat.

I'm fuming over ther result and not the performance.

Re: Liverpool Thread

carra has been solid this season, anyone who tells me different must be smoking some bad shit!

last season he wasn't himself giving away dodgey pens, or getting away with some and being a bit suspect but not this year

What a bad looser you are...
Spurs won against Liverpool like Liverpool won against Standard (well they didn't win those two matches), Boro and Wigan....
A Liverpool fan silenced me after the Standard game that football is about scoring, he's right....
Great and deserved win by Spurs...

DESERVED WIN? What an overstatement, really .. we missed PLENTY of our chances, dominating for most periods of the game, and you said a deserved win for Spurs?

Football is a funny game, because in my observation, the more chances you miss earlier in the game and didn't kill the game off, the bigger the chances of the opponent fighting back and reversing the scoreline. That happened many many times, I've seen too many of them, but did that mean the opponent deserved the win? It's more lucky than anything else.

Re: Liverpool Thread

it was a disease from last year. Take the lead (particularly at home), struggle to get a second, panic in the last few mins, ditherng about whether to attack or go ultra defensive, and then lapses of concentration lead to a goal.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Whatever happened to "the best form of defence is attack"? Disappointed about the result but it's all about how we react to it. Do we go into our shell or come out all guns blazing? Will be interesting to watch. At least we don't have as many problems as Arsenal do at the moment. However, I still don't like Dosena and Arbeloa, particularly Dosena who has seemed a liability at times (when allegedly blocking crosses). Carragher saves us more times than not, and even though he makes the odd huge gaff, it's not something which bothers me as it happens to all players. The art is to do it as little as possible.

Re: Liverpool Thread

come on whoever bitches about carra not solid this season is crazy. He makes one mistake.... don't pounce on him!! You guys are missing Skrtel... he gelled well with Carra pretty well!!

Re: Liverpool Thread

Wow, after seeing the Blackburn highlights...if that Mike Jones ref takes charge of a match with Carragher (or Vidic, or Carvalho) it's gonna be hilarious. A penalty for lite holding of the shirt? Every corner = penalty and the game'll have to abandoned for sendings off.

Will be good to get Torres back in the league, he's just awesome to watch. Still bummed Fergie didn't pink up the cash a few years back. A Rooney, Ronaldo, Torres front 3 would be absolutely terrifying...

To be fair Fergie said he tried numerous times but He and the club both werent ready for him to move on yet...Also think Liverpool was his preffered destination.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Real honest player that Steven Gerrard. Like I said before, get Rafa to buy lottery tickets.

If that was a foreigner he'd be booted out of England...
