Liverpool Thread

Re: Liverpool Thread

Yeah, if all I heard was the result (ie. nothing about Liverpool taking the lead, any defensive mistakes, missed opportunities etc) I'd be happy.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Sky Sports Scout is our exciting new feature where we scour the globe looking out for the best talent and bringing you a report on what we find.

Our Scout will report back and you can comment on what you think of our appraisal.

Also if you want to nominate somebody to feature - please get in touch.

Latest under our scout's gaze is Liverpool's Krisztian Nemeth - Recommended by Sky Sports reader Nathan Roberts.
The scout reports...

The Liverpool starlet is yet to make his senior debut for The Reds but already the hopes of a nation can be seen resting on his shoulders.

Two days after Hungary's defeat to Sweden in their World Cup qualiifer earlier this year, the Hungarian sports daily newspaper, Nemzeti Sport headlined Krisztian Nemeth, with an enormous picture of him and wrote that coach Erwin Koeman needs to play him - that is how highly Hungarians think of the 19-year-old stiker.

So there's no doubt about it that Krisztian Nemeth - whose role model is Ferenc Puskas - is the brightest Hungarian prospect for a number of years.

Nemeth signed for Liverpool alongside Andras Simon in the summer of 2007 and he was named Player of the Year for the reserves in his debut campaign.

He is a goalscorer with a footballing brain, something which Liverpool fans crave and adore in equal measure.

Like in his homeland, Liverpool staff have huge hopes for Nemeth and it will remain to be seen whether he can make the big breakthrough in the coming years.

The scout says...

He has a fierce shot, great footwork and can pick a pass - outstanding prospect who should make his first-team debut this season.

Re: Liverpool Thread

I'd agree with that, just so comftable on the ball, he has a swagger about him, but he doesn't do daft tricks, he picks a pass makes great runs, pass and move.

Hope to see him this season in the reserves. I think he deserves more of a go than Ngog.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Well it would help if Rafa would give him more than 5 minutes a game (exagerration).

I remember in the friendly with Villareal, he came on at half time I think and was subbed for Torres within 25 minutes. That's gotta destroy your confidence surely?

Beating Man Utd (without Torres), Chelsea (without Torres) and Everton ... could it be .... nah! Surely not, right?

Re: Liverpool Thread

Wow, well deserved. The last time I remember Liverpool being so in control was the FA cup game...that we lost 4-2 :D Can't remember much more at Stanford Bridge.

Chelsea barely managed half chances today while Liverpool looked dangerous everytime they went forward with more then 3 players. Some really nice passing going on up front today. Very tidy and clinical, a bit like Valencia from years ago.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Funny that the pundits and commentators are saying we deserved it, yet people like Tim and others who hate Liverpool say that Chelsea were crap

Always the same when we win, always the other team being crap

I'm WELL happy!

Re: Liverpool Thread

Couldn't give a flying monkey what the performance was like or what people think about us. To beat Chelsea playing in the form of the lives at their place, having gone 86 games unbeaten is a momentus acheivement for a team that is really starting to show our championship mentallity.

Reira must have glue on his boots, his just doesn't lose it, and if he does he wins a freekick.

Carra, Agger, Fabio and Arbeloa didn't put a foot wrong. Xabi was awesome, Gerrard did a disciplined job and found some great positions. Kuyt managed to hold the ball up for more than 2 seconds.

Just an excellent performance, Chelsea's best chance was a sliced half volley.

The travelling kop was the best of all!

Re: Liverpool Thread

Tbh I can't see how anybody can say Liverpool didn't deserve it, oh and the Chelsea are crap comments, werent they well in form last week with a reserve side? Their form can't drop in one week, its Liverpool's play that made them look like crap today :D

Re: Liverpool Thread

What else should I say? Chelsea played bad, yes we know that. Liverpool played with a winning mentality the whole game? That's the difference maker, somehow I saw the last 10 minutes of the game, I wasn't as worried about an equilizer.

Masch mouth almost got the better of him, and soon after got an earful from Babel :P lol! *USE YOUR F*CKING EYES MATE!!!! I AM HERE NOT THERE !!!!!!*

Re: Liverpool Thread

You nicked a goal and then played the perfect game after that.

Sure Chelsea had more possession but the way you defended, and well, the way they attacked it seemed they were never gonna score.

I think that's the first time Rafa has ever got a game completely right tactically.

Well played and congrats.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Dare I say you lot are contenders! Well played today, beating a side who have gone 90 odd games unbeaten is great acheivement.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Great result. Great team performance.

Carragher was immense. Alonso is continuing his good run of form. Riera's playing with a lot of confidence. Gerrard too had a very good game. Babel also had a good cameo.

Defended really well. Wasn't really nervous about us conceding watching the game. Played with the game plan all the way. Our passing in the Chelsea half was really good at times.

More of the same and...

Re: Liverpool Thread

Damn, Alonso too! good result that win made me chuckle the chavs didn`t even looked too interested
