Liverpool Thread

Re: Liverpool Thread

Quality assist, great finish, brilliant play by Kuyt too. Its always been said that strikers are the best crossers of the ball ;)

Gerrard hit that freekick at 78mph!!!!

Re: Liverpool Thread

Comfortable performance, generally impressed by what I seen from us although PSV were pretty poor.

Congrats to Keane!

Re: Liverpool Thread

Guys, I´m travelling to London and Liverpool next year beteween the 20 of January and 4 of Febrery and od course I want to go to Anfield and see a match.
The question is, is it really difficult to buy a ticket the day or the week of the match ? How much does it cost the cheapest ticket.
Looking foward to going to Anfield Road :DD

Bye Bye

only home game we've got between those dates is chelsea on the 27th so you've practically got no chance although that weekend could possibly be the fa cup 4th round (last season we played havant and waterlooville on the 26th)

tickets are £35 & £37 in the kop depeding on who we're playing and £37 & £39 in all other stands

Thank you. But, is there no popular ? Is very expensive :((

it's too expensive, so far this season i've spent £199.50 on tickets for the games against 'boro, man united, stoke, wigan & psv, £10.50 of that is booking fees and it also doesn't include the £55 i paid out back in june for my pts membership, got offered a ticket for man city away on sunday and turned it down cos i just can't afford to do away games

i'd love to be able to give it up and i've tried in the past but always keep coming back for more and whilst there's people like me prepared to cough up then the clubs will continue to take the piss

late 80's early 90's i only used to miss a few games a season and those were usually midweek away games down south where i couldn't get because of work, god knows how the lads who go everywhere now can afford to do it

Re: Liverpool Thread

Seems to me that PSV are either really overrated, or they just cannot play against you.

Everytime they play Liverpool, regardless of whether its at Anfield or the Phillps Stadion, they just sit back and watch you walk all over them.

I bet you'd love to play them every match in the CL eh?

Re: Liverpool Thread

Not taking anything away but Dutch football just isn't what it was.
Let's face it outside the big three leagues there is just not the ludicrous TV slush funds, to temp the top mercenaries I mean players... ;))
And the great youth that comes through places like the Netherlands get picked off by the richer clubs...

Re: Liverpool Thread

Remember back in 05 PSV were almost a CL finallist,
not the same team now compared to back then.

They've basically had to start again and go back to
basics in terms of team building.

Plus they had Hiddink.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Poor so far

Kuyt missed a sitter and from that moment on....

Arbeloa *slaps forehead*

Arby's been great so far this season, but I still maintain he's not good enough for Pool.

Bring on Keane and Babel and go for it.

Re: Liverpool Thread

I agree with Peter. I wouldn't say we've been poor, lacked a bit up front although Riera is playing very well.

Other points are valid, get Babel and Keane on and have a go, nothing to lose in having a good go now.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Piss poor first half by Pool...looked too intimidated, its just Citeh lads!

Garrido's goal killed to to be honest, just when you lot are getting back on track.

Would take an enourmous effort to overturn this result to your favour,Scousers.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Wow..that was somewhat enourmous! Fantastic game of football for neutrals. The sum of the game was Pool took their chance when Zabaleta was sent off.Really piled on the pressure and deservedly got all 3 points!

Re: Liverpool Thread

WHAT. A. GAME!

Really enjoyed that one, gutted about Skrtel though, doesn't look good :((

Consider we had Kuyt and Torres both miss sitters as well, we deserved that one I think.

This is exactly the kind of mentality we need, and have lacked over the last few seasons. Keep it going and I think we might just be up there in the mix at the end of the season :DD

Re: Liverpool Thread

A goal from Kuyt in the league, and a goal from a set piece. Unbelievable.

A comeback from 2-0 down would be far more believable.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Happy with the result, and the way we fought back from two sloppy goals to concede. However, Skrtel's injury looks very serious, he's been an absolute rock, a bargain of a signing. Time for Agger to step up and hit some CONSISTENT form.

Re: Liverpool Thread

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSS! YOU'LL NEVER WALK ALONE!

TORRES IS A GIFT FROM GOD!

Re: Liverpool Thread

babel didn't come on because City were always going to sit back towards the end. Benayoun is better for those situations.

Can't really argue. Both Benayoun and Kuyt were heavily involved in the winner.

Still a little worried about the lack of game time since the amazing performance against Marseille.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Riera has been a brilliant signing from his performances so far. Exactly what we need on the wings. I'd still rather see Babel on the right-wing instead of Kuyt tho ;))
