Liverpool Thread

Re: Liverpool Thread

Who is (or will most often be) your full-backs this season? I've got Finnan in my Fantasy Football team but he didn't pick up any points this week. Is he injured or has someone got the nod over him?

Re: Liverpool Thread

Finnan will likely be leaving us, mate. Degen will be ahead of Finnan in all likelihood.

Re: Liverpool Thread

nah not pants, just not upto to title winning scratch, too naive. Not really outstanding at anything, shaky in defence, not exactly brilliant going forward.

Quite worried about our Right Back position. Degen isn't brilliant and is injury prone, Finnan is too old now, Carragher isn't a RB.

Left is looking good With Dossena and Aurelio ready to step in.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Well Aurelio is pretty useless. Just when he starts to get into top form he gets injured. Two seasons on the trot thats happend now :(

Re: Liverpool Thread

I'd hope that Rafa has a bit of faith in Darby. Always been good whenever I've seen him. Just needs to add a bit more going forward. It'd be nice to have a scouse player in the first XI. And the right back slot is up for grabs.

Oh, and it seems that Quaresma rumors are back.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Yeah well he got the skills but he really has issues man .. wish we get somebody else.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Apparantly Everton are interested in Riera now.

I'm sure Moyes just reads the papers and looks to see who people are linked with, then moves for them. Tiago, Zigic, Riera, Ramsey etc

Re: Liverpool Thread

Just listening now, cheers mate :TU:

Edit: Montse saying  is priceless! :lmao:

Re: Liverpool Thread

watching the match now and arbo looks our weak link, although dossena has given it away more times than i would like

we have looked the more dangerous, keane and torres linking up well, gerrard has been quiet, kuyt doing well when he gets the ball but its not any skinning of defenders which is obvious

alonso had most of the ball as usual, skrtl and carra look solid

torres winning pretty much all in the air and is working hard

mike riley is as shit as usual, giving poor decisions

half time now

.......

p.s big improvement on last week, although still lacking that cutting edge

Re: Liverpool Thread

wow. what a second half finish

we were shit until we went 1-0 down in the 2nd half and then we showed our grit and fight like we used to

what a finish to the match, so glad to see the fighting spirit

...........p.s haha at the comment above me

Re: Liverpool Thread

Bah, missed the second half :((

I thought we played okay in the first half, we showed a lot more determination and drive than we did in our other two games (which doesn't say much I guess) and Torres and Keane showed good signs. I thought Dossena looked good getting forward, whipped in some great crosses.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Poor Performance but great character to come back and get the three points.

Lets keep picking up points and get a winger or two in because Benayoun and Kuyt just can't do it.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Great result poor performance. Too many nothing players - Kuyt (although works hard often lacks quality on the ball), Arbeloa (average), Aurelio (again nothing special), Benayoun (blows hot and cold).....still, if we're winning our games when we're playing crap then it can't be bad at all! Keep it up reds!!

Re: Liverpool Thread

yoshi was poor today, but kuyt was good when on the ball, but i agree we need out and out wingers

kuyt was one of our better players i thought, also alonso gave the ball away far to much and his corners were wasted probably about 5 of them hit the man at the near post

i laughed when the crowd cheered when the ball finally came to babel after him being on for 10 mins and not having a touch and when he did the crowd cheered and only for him to fall over the ball and give it away

that summed up our second half until we went 1-0 down and then we showed some heart ABOUT F?CKING TIME

Re: Liverpool Thread

Haha, brilliant. Just brilliant.

Call us lucky or whatever, these are the types of games we drew last season whenever we had a dip in form. This season's different though. Our players seem to have a fire in their belly to win games. A winning mentalitee as Rafa would call it. We're winning games when we've been poor. Let us get a bit of from, and then we'll see.

Talking about performances, I thought we were good in the first half, but second half we were terrible. Xabi was AWFUL today, absolutely AWFUL. Keane was good in the first half, and we saw glimpses of the No.9-No.7 partnership. Carra was absolutely brilliant, and so was Dossena I thought. Gerrard and Torres were anonymous, so were Dirk, Yossi, and Babel. El Zhar was pretty good when he came on. Arby was poor.

We need at least one more player. Hopefully a left sided one. It's clear to see we can be play some pretty good football. We need someone who can stick it all together though. A glue, a player around who we can play, because at the moment, we have ideas, but our football is disjointed. I'd like to think that player is Gareth Barry.

2 games, 6 points, roll on baby!

Re: Liverpool Thread

nice match this is what football is all about... a last dying seconds can change the entire match.... nice... but you guys were far from convincing... yossi was bad so was xabi glimpses of keane & torres partnership could be seen if they click wow would be amazing.. el zhar was good when he came on...

Re: Liverpool Thread

What annoyed me was how Gerrard played yesterday to how he played on Wednesday...
