She was driving him mad... and because of that, he was playing like... EDDIE as "The Trooper"!!! HAHAHA!... (I actually met Ellison once, by accident of course, in a store - in a huge mall, downtown in Liverpool!).
Also, I don't beleave Rafa likes much Stevie, as much as Stevie dislike him!

Hi lupus welcome to the club :)

Surely Masch should be in the starting eleven, no? Did you remember those days when we lost Hamann? Those when the opposing midfielders running amock at the middle and nobody 'killing' them? Masch is very vital in breaking up the enemy's play in the middle. He has the knack of how to tackle and nick the ball out of their feets. Not the best passer of the ball, pity but he's certainly starting material in my opinion, and surprised he's not in your eyes.

Back in the 80's and 90's the other teams aren't as 'rich' as now and by comparison our team is now owned by a cheap cowboy named you-know-who who's really willing to spend IF LFC carries all the risk, which means big transfers every year usually only happens in our Dreams :(

Guys where is this rumor that Alonso's deal is done? And any progress on Barry's situation?

First of all, you do realize that the stars of our youth academy have been Nemeth, Plessis and Insua, neither of whom are British!!

And you do realize that we've scored more goals than any other English team in all competitions this season?

Oh, and Babel and Mascherano are more than 'ok' for Liverpool. They're bloody brilliant.

And you want 19 year old Paul Anderson to be brought back and put straight into the first team. There's a reason Rafa's loaning them, so that they can get first team experience, and Rafa can see whether they're upto it.

When will Rafa replace Luis? He already has, Benayoun. Only difference is, Luis could pop with a goal out of nothing. Benayoun can create a goal out of nothing. He did that in the semis. Oh and it was actually Rafa who bough Luis btw. Oh, and he's LATIN.

Yeh, Chelsea has a superb roster. Does help that they can spend 16M on a right back, while we have to go and buy a freebie from Dortmund. And let's not talk about ML. This is real life football you know :-pp

And transfer rumors? Eh, Barry, Downing, Milner. All English, should keep you happy ;)

Lads, I didn't say - I repeat! - Mascherano ISN'T a good DM! I said, I WANT A BETTER ONE PLAYER than him (for instance, Dietmar Hamann was FAR BETTER than him!), NOT "Latino/Spanish" (THEY DON'T "FITTING" in an Eglish team - except some FEW exceptions, what's so difficult to understand???) and with a devoted/allegianted attitude to the club!
(Masch is good, not GOOD ENOUGH as a first squad's DF for LFC should be. That's my opinion.)

Of course some youth players are not Brits; let them... loan. But the young Brits, I WANT THEM BACK!

First of all, I don't see how it matters where a player comes from. I couldn't give a shit where he's from, but if he's good enough, he should play. Mascherano is more than good enough, he's freaking awesome. Didi was awesome as well. Mascherano is Didi, with more pace, and more mobility.

Oh, and just you know, most British players arn't that much. And if anyone of them were half as good as Raul, they would have played.

And why the hell do we need a better goalie than Pepe. He's brilliant. How many better are there? Buffon? Van der Saar? Casillas? Cech? He's younger than all of them. He's won 3 golden glove awards in his 3 seasons here. He's been brilliant in the big games. Chelsea last season. Inter Milan this season. Model of consistency, and replacing him would be absolutely stupid. Needless to say, Cech's made far more mistakes this season than Pepe (who's only had the one bad game against United).

Babel is 21 FFS. He's score 11 goals in his first season, and some crucial ones at that. This is his first season, and he's been far more impressive than the likes of Van Persie were in their first season. Give him time, he'll be awesome. And Pennant is 25, and he's score 3 goals in his Liverpool career. The guy's average.

And PES is different. It's a football game. I can put 8 strikers on that game, and still win. It's not real life football. Real life football is about balance. If you have Xabi and Gerrard in the center, you're going to get run all over the midfield. Look at West Ham away.

Crouch is a good striker. I can guarantee you, Rafa would love if Crouch stays. He gives him possibilities, and the chance to go long when needed. Rafa only used him and Torres against Arsenal, knowing they were uncomfortable with Crouch. And let's be honest, Crouch did very little that game. Babel came on, we changed the formation, and won. And Crouch isn't a support striker either.

Riise has been shit for over 2 seasons now. I don't care if he scored a goal years ago. He's had over 130 shots since his last goal. His technique is poor, he can't pass, every attack he wastes. He doesn't have that much pace either. Aurelio is far more cultured on the ball. Don't even compare him to Roberto Carlos.

Oh, and Benayoun cost 5 million. Ribery cost 20 million. Big difference.

I don't understand what's the problem with having coach from wherever. If Rafa ever leaves (god forbid) Real Madrid and Barcelona will there with their bollocks out waiting to snap him up. And he's not good enough for Liverpool

Ha, and you want Martin O'Neill. That overrated, cunt of a manager. What has he ever achieved to manage Liverpool? Percentage football twat. He, Allardyce, and the other British managers are in a different league to Rafa.

Mash is a better player than Hamann was for us, I'd much rather have Babel than Robben and Babel is MILES better than Duff ever was.

Oh, and Riise has been average for years. You say you want the best for Liverpool when talking about Reina? Even when Riise was playing his best football, he was never a player who'd help a team win the league. He'd NEVER get into Man Utd, Arsenal or Chelsea's team.

I'm starting to warm up towards the idea of Barry, with the chemistry he exhibited with Gerrard for England. Rafa really loves his balance.. Masch for D, Gerrard for attack, and Barry for both (especially with his mobility). We've swapped quality passing (albeit lacking this season) for mobility and versatility, which could prove to be the key link in the middle.

With Alonso, we needed players who could make incisive runs (especially down the sides), and with our sidebacks that wasn't gonna happen. With our wingers that wasn't gonna happen, bar Babel and Benayoun. It would've been interesting to see what Alonso could have done with these new sidebacks we've got, but since we aren't getting a quality winger (remember, our budget is contingent upon the sale of Alonso), I guess Rafa is once again trying to do his best under a supposedly top-4 team budget.

Our squad is looking more and more "industrious"

IT SERIOUS MATTERS when a player's coming from! It's not a racism issue - thanks God, NO! - it's a COMMON SENCE's one! Some people CAN'T "fit" in several places/communities/parties/teams. For instance, if you take a Greek and send him to live in Belgium (Central Europe or Northern), he will commit... suicide in a week!!!
LATIN PLAYERS, FITS BETTER IN "PREMERA DIVISION", "SERIE A" and some in "BUDESLIGA"! Because these championships are... FAR LESS HARD, as EPL is! And Latin players, are talentfull but NOT SO HARD, as Brits/French/German or Scandinavian ARE! Did you watched yesterday night HOW HARD the Frenchies played against the "Oranie"? The Dutch, didn't feel anything! Remember mighty Kuyt, last night? THAT KIND of player we need! An... Iron Maiden's "TROOPER"!

My friend, there are MANY Brits GREAT players, although they're young and they don't gaining chances; JUST LIKE GREEK players suffering! Check Dutch footie, Italic footie, French footie or... TURKISH footie! WHAT Otto was, before he took Greek team's managing chair? A common/average coach. CHECK what he did! He was SO "FIT-IN" with the Greek "philoshophy"!
THIS IS THE BLOODY IMPORTANT! I was player myself, I know! I had superb coaches and they did NOTHING! And I had good coach, but with SO GREAT "aura", that gave to us our best moments!

Yeh, I am warming to the idea of Barry as well. I can actually see what Rafa is doing with getting Barry in. I really can. But, just the thought of Alonso leaving us really makes me want to cry :CRY:

Don't think we're going to lack any quality passing either. Barry is pretty good passer himself. Normally keeps it simple, but has long rage vision as well. And not to forget Lucas, who I think is even better than Xabi at short passing.

Plenty of rumors about Stewart Downing. I'd really like this signing provided it's not more than 10M. Think Downing is quality, and would be even better in a better team.

Think with Barry and Downing, our team would have a really nice balance about it. Agger, Dossena, Barry and Downing as left footers, would provide a hell of a balance in the team. And that's something Rafa keeps going about.

Still hope we land Bentley as well.

I really don't get where you're going with this?

So, Latin players arn't hard? Ronaldo's from Portugal, and he fits in pretty nicely. And I doubt you would find harder midfielders than Mascherano around. He doesn't take any bullshit. And Torres, our golden boy as you call him. He does pretty well.

I don't care how tall Pepe is. He does a super job for us. Him being short has cost us when? I can't remember. So you want a Dalglish in our team? Let me tell, the player closest to Dalglish in modern day football is David Villa. You want Liverpool to stop buying players, and wait for several seasons without winning anything, so that the British players can mature, and we can see if they're good enough.

Pennant is an attacking player. An attacking players need to score goals, he doesn't. And when does Babel need 1 in 20 to score? Actually, even if Babel needs 5 chances, I can bet you, 4 of those he creates himself by beating 2-3 defenders and shooting. Babel's a talent.

Crouch is the most talented tall striker in the world! :LOL: Toni? Amauri? Drogba?

Can he actually head the ball? He doesn't have upper body strength. Neither can he beat a man with pace, and neither does have movement. He's a static striker. He's a good option to use, but not good enough to start. And he misses sitters I tell you.

Riise doesn't do anything well. He's a wing back right? His job is to defend, and he can't do that. He doesn't have electrifying pace either. He can't pass the ball, he can't cross it. His job is to provide width and he doesn't. And when has he opened up a defense :LOL: Aurelio, and Arbeloa are much, much better.

He bought Benayoun, because he had a budget of 5 million to replace Luis, and he got Benayoun. And Benayoun is as good as Luis, just less spectacular.

Oh, and didn't Mourinho win the league title in England? Where's he from?

I think most LFC fans will miss Xabi and his terrific vision and passing. Barry just does't have that "exotic" feel about him at all.. A solid player, but by no means classy. Seems like Rafa is trying to build another machine in the Valencia mould, but this time with a different emphasis that reflects the nature of the league (direct, fast, physical footie vs a technical, slow, creative one). Looks like he figured out our way to the premiership!
