Re: Liverpool Thread

thats pathetic lads to laugh at some thing you dont understand!

you dont have to explain why you support liverpool peter!

your dad asked you too.

I dont get you lot, why do you expect praise after the season you have had, why do you react the way you do when you know deep down how it is.

bottom line is you have won nothing again this season just the same as everton , only difference is we aint going bankrupt at the same time.

My Dad?

He Supported Everton as a boy and then Watford when he was my age.

He has an intense dislike for Liverpool! Purely because he was an Everton fan.

My Uncle and cousins had more of an effect on me supporting Liverpool.

Liverpool won the reserve treble this season my friend!

Re: Liverpool Thread

peters da telling him to be red, this happens the length and breadth of the country, this might not be the case with pete

why explain i had already said it might not apply to you.

oh your reserves won some silver ware.....brilliant maybe they should play in the first team :-pp

our ladies won a couple of cups this season too, im talking about the first team squads fool.

Re: Liverpool Thread

nunca caminaràs solo .... lol

it seems the dossena deal is almost done.
treat him good guys! :))

How well do you think he'll fit in to our team? Will he adapt to the Premier League easily enough? Any info about him will be appreciated :)

Re: Liverpool Thread

mate honestly, i think your losing it!

Mate it's been the same thing in this thread post-season for the last few years. I've just been reading last years posts at this time of year. It's got the same old members saying "This is our year I can feel it" and talking about a load of average Spanish players that might be coming to Anfield. The harsh truth is that I still feel L'pool haven't got the right coach to win the Premiership. I have already put £1 on at Coral on Rafa being the first manager to be sacked in the new season. The Liverpool board simply won't put up with Rafa losing to United, Chelsea etc all over again.

Re: Liverpool Thread

funny thing is every one else can see it but why cant they?

you know they aint good enough to constantly big the team up and thats why they leave themselves wide open for ridicule all the time, they need to just sit tight and see what happens, look at dags post about dossena above asking this and that will he adapt to the premier league he always asks daft questions like that, does he think we are all mystic flamin meg or something.. how they hell do we know how he is gonna play, just wait and see how it pans out....:((

What's so daft about asking that? He's asking the right person anyway because lo zio has great knowledge of Italian football.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Always asks daft questions? Is it a daft question to ask someone who has watched a player to ask what he's like? You really are a clown, jeez :brick:

Really, just leave this thread and do us all a favour, I really don't think anyone wants your "contributions" in here, you bring nothing but shite and argumentative drivel to this thread and it'd be better off without you.

I think I'll take Tik's advice and just block any messages from you, just the same as you not coming here anyway. There's only you and Chico who are regulars in your own thread so I can do my Mystic Meg impression and predict you wont stop coming here because you've got nobody else to talk to in your own thread. See, some of us can predict the future ;))

People expected Sissoko to do well in Italy because of certain qualities, and look at him now, hes doing great. So you think Everton scouts just sign players because theyre good in their own league? I think not.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Seems Alonso is close to moving to Juve know, Barry will probably be his replacement and will probably cost a bit on top of the sale of Alonso.

Kinda sad to see Alonso go, he's been a great player and a great person to have around, I think we all wish him well.

Not sure Barry will cost us more than £16m though?

Re: Liverpool Thread

I know you didn't ;), but I mean, youre saying its daft for Dags to say what he said, but I dont think its daft!

Funny i Heard Alonso is going for around 12-13M and Barry will cost around 16M

Re: Liverpool Thread

This something ive posted in all the main Prem threads, what do you lot think about the FIFA rule that seems like is going to happen with a max of 5 foreign players and how will it affect your club?

I'm WELL up for it, would love to see more English players in our league.

It would affect us quite a lot too I feel, even our youth team is full of foreigners. It would also drive up the price of English players for a short time, but then we'd see some English talent come through the reserves and the prices would settle again.

But yeah, I fully agree with the 6+5 rule.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Agree, although EU endorses what UEFA's proposal of going through the club's academy for x amount of years instead of nationality of starters, although it doesn't solve the "Chelsea bought 16 year old wonderkid" problem for example. But then by they're 20 and ready for premiership stuff, they're already talking like a born and bred English :)

Both I think would help ease the current situation in the EPL.

in theory he shouldn't have big problems in adapting to british football. he has a good balance (despite not being very tall) and huge stamina.

udine is one of the most "british" cities in italy. It's very quiet, the fans don't overwhelm u with their passion when u walk on the road, even the weather isn't really "italian". so talking about the "environment" he shouldn't feel that nostalgic... at least not as much as a guy coming from roma or napoli, or palermo should feel...

the point is though, this will be "the big step" for him. he will move from the quiet little udine to another country.... to one of the most important clubs in the world. no one can tell how well he will handle the expectations, the pressure of being a starter (because he's definitely worthy of the starter's spot) in such a top club... how easily he will adapt himself to a new lifestyle.

compared to italy's top left backs (grosso, chiellini, modesto, pasqual, tonetto, bellini) he's probably (along with chiellini) the most suitable for the premiership, but afterall history is full of great players who weren't able to perform in different leagues (maradona in spain, henry in italy, rizzitelli in germany, sheva in england), so it's almost impossible to tell how good is dossena going to do for the reds.
anyway if i'd have to bet on it, i'd say he's gonna do very well.

we talked about him on the serie a thread a few weeks ago, so just do a search tipying the word "dossena" for further informations ;))

to sum up, he's not yet on the same level of grosso or chiellini. he has not chiellini's terrific power or grosso's vision and technique, but still he's a fantastic compromise between them. he had a continuous growth in the last 3 years and he still has room for improvement (he's still 26, afterall).
and anyway, even if he wouldn't make the following step (becoming a top class player), he has already what it takes to be a starter in many top teams in europe.
he has been one of the top performing left backs this season in italy, and i can't see more than 2 left backs better than him in premiership right now... but of course we'll have to wait to see if he will find himself at home in england and how well he will face this foreign experience. :))
