Re: Liverpool Thread
I don't think Hick is so out of order w/ rants obivously gillett & rick are on the same page wanting to get rid of rafa and Hicks went to the media i imagine full of guilt no doubt he's bring rafa closer to him as an allie
Whatever Hicks has said about the Parry issue, he IS spot on. But the fact remains, that he's decided to all this in PUBLIC, with more dirty linen being washed in public in the last month or so, than in Liverpool history. And we all know that he's a liar, a fat one at that. And the whole PR stunt about waking up at 7, wearing the Liverpool shirt was quiet pathetic
However, at this present situation, I really think Hicks having 100% ownership is the best, at least for the short term. I, for one moment, don't think he really cares about the club.
There's one person at LFC that really cares about the club, and that's Rafa Benitez. But, Hicks does support Rafa, which Gillett doesn't, and DIC may/may not. And that's why I am slightly inclined towards having Hicks as owner. I don't think he's here for the long term. BUT, I think he will build the stadium, a pretty good one at that, and will do it quickly, so that in a few years, he could have almost tripled his investment, and sell at that moment. And he will provide funds to Rafa. Not the 50M to buy Kaka, but the usual 20-25M, which, accompanied with player sales, should be enough for Rafa to build the team that he wants in a couple more seasons. And keeping Rafa is VERY IMPORTANT. Letting Rafa go away, will set the club back for several years, because Rafa has a long term plan, and I honestly believe in that plan. And no other coach would be willing to come here, after seeing the treatment Rafa has gotten. And there will be no shortage of offers for Rafa. Madrid are pretty much waiting for an opportunity to snatch him up.
And at the same time, I don't really trust DIC either. They have been very clever with PR, and created plenty of stories to create an atmosphere of tension for Hicks. And what's to say their financing will be any different than of Hicks? It goes back to the same thing of, preferring a devil you know, than one you don't.
So at the present moment, the best I am hoping for is Hicks getting 100% ownership, with Parry going out, and brining some stability to the club. Stadium work starts, and Rafa gets his usual summer kitty to spend, and hopefully, by the time the stadium is build, we would have a title challenging team.
