Liverpool Thread

Re: Liverpool Thread

Broughton has already said that he's leaving shortly to work on a sports investment company. Purslow is still staying as a financial assistant to directors though, he'll still be around the club but just not as the CEO anymore.

Rumours that Hodgson will stand down after the Napoli game, mutual consent.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Purslow has quit. Broughton next.

actualy Broughton left day or two ago..

hopefully we get new manager soon.. and i pray for good result tomorow.. becouse we can´t hope for miracle with young players against very good team that is hungry for result at home.

cheer up guys. the napoli team u're about to face tomorrow is gonna be everything but hungry for result. quite the opposite actually. napoli, just like every other italian team, don't care at all about europa league. italian clubs usually don't even line up their starting 11 in europa league matches. and even when they do line up their starting 11 (wich is probably what will happen tomorrow), their starters always take it VERY easy, as they don't wanna waste energies for the league (wich is their nr. 1 priority).

"officially" they will of course say that this is a big match and that they wanna play at their best, but the napoli u'll see tomorrow is gonna be a very toned down version or the real serie a napoli. and if u need proof, just look at their previous europa league results. they didn't win against steaua, neither against utrecht. they have a very important match against milan in the upcoming serie a weekend and they already know they can win their way through europa league's next round by getting good results against steaua and utrecht...... so they will definitely don't go hard on u. ;)

and altough even a toned down version of napoli might turn out to be a serious challenge for this current liverpool, this match could possibly be a nice confidence booster for u lot :))

Re: Liverpool Thread

It's gotta be Rijkaard, the timing is too perfect.

He's the man I wanted before Roy. At least he will get The Pool playing decent attacking footy.

All for giving Roy time as you never know but just wished we could have got Rijkaard first.

Oh well, football is fickle and moves on quickly anyway. Not as if Roy will be short of a few quid. Hopefully he will be next England manager and gets installed before we play them in March! ;)

Re: Liverpool Thread

Rijkaard didn't leave, he was sacked after a board meeting wasn't he?

Anyway:

RT @bensmith_times: Reports of discontent among senior #lfc players are bang on the money. Hodgson's days looked numbered

@dinabass Dina Bass
Why shouldn't some LFC players be unhappy with Roy? He's telling the best keeper in the league to alter training, tactics hurt Torres.

Re: Liverpool Thread

i am not shure about Rijkaard, it was mentioned above that his work succes was mainly becouse of assistent coach in Barcelona..and we know what happend after he was gone..

my personal favourite except Rafa is Pellegrini to coach us..he did amazing work for Madrid in his first season there, + with Villareal, he would be amazing, seems a quiet guy and focused for working not talking...positive is he speeks spanish..

Re: Liverpool Thread

Seeing as Dalglish was asked not to go to Italy does nobody else think he will do an interim job up till jan, or may if it goes well?

I can't see the new owners, who seem to know nothing about football, already appointing a new manager on a big contract within a couple of days. Ofcourse maybe behind the scenes they have already been working on it but I would still find it odd for them to do it when they have talked about good business, not jumping in, learning the ropes, etc.

For me it's a perfect situation for all if Kenny takes over; I would expect the players to get a decent boost (He has known the players for more then a year, maybe two being part of the set-up). would know most of the training and systems used and he gets to try the job again whilst not being under "pressure" as he would only be an interim manager till the summer.

Hodgson goes out with a modicum of decency as he hasn't dragged the club down beyond repair and can cite different circumstances, unexpected pressures, etc

And the owners can bed in whilst knowing the pressure and doom at the club will hopefully be removed with a few decent results and a club favorite at the helm.

Anyway, good news about Purslow, although I find it pretty odd that someone who was brought in to sell the club ended up doing the transfers, undermining Rafa and getting a new manager in! Speaking of which, what a waste that Rafa had to leave for about 8 league matches...

That explains it....why the players look so lost on the pitch...
Hodgson's ancient tactics will work with teams where the expectations
are low and he can drill them in over a long period of time...
like he did with Fulham

But with Liverpool, a team that had a blip last year, we need
a manager who can improve over Rafa's work over the last 6 years.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Rafa is having a party at Inter....as they are stuffing Redknapp
and co....4:0 at half-time...

Look what Rafa can do with a world-class team....

Look what Roy can do with our team...take them down.

We look like idiots to have got Roy Hodgson....

Thanks Purslow...for the new owners....
but what a shambolic manager you and the board have left us with...

Re: Liverpool Thread

..and Rafa's team almost managed to throw away a 4 goal lead at home :P

Re: Liverpool Thread

Big deal....Spurs scored 2 goals in injury time...
Inter still won 4:3...

It's not as if they are losing at home to Northampton or Blackpool...

Re: Liverpool Thread

Hodgson says he had no idea Purslow was stepping down...
(hint...he may be next)

and that he is scared Torres could join United...
(well if we play better and give Torres more service...
and stop blaming him publicly and stand up for him when Ferguson slates him....then he will stay)

This man is a shambles.....what on earth have we got ourselves into...

Pellegrini...or Rijkaard or Dalglish...the only alternatives for me.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Hodgson is out no matter what...

Torres to United.. now that Rooney might wear other shirt i dont say it is impossble, nothing is..but realy..it is bullshit, Roy might be gone before he could make more damage and more shit comments..that are making supporters angry more and more..

not to mention he is making fool out of himself to..

Re: Liverpool Thread

http://www.clickliverpool.com/sport...agent-reveals-liverpool-fc-manager-talks.html

Pellegrini's agent claims Liverpool have approached him about becoming the new manager.

And Hodgson's choice quote for today?

Hodgson on united showing interest in Torres "I think I'd have to say we'd cross that bridge when we come to it."

Rather than just tell Utd to piss off, why not invite a bid eh? Fucking hell :BRICK:

The sooner he's gone, the better. Out of his league by a mile. Tony Barrett is claiming Torres is unhappy under Hodgson. If I had to choose between Torres and Roy? Hmmm ...

Unconfirmed rumours that Kenny Dalglish, Gerrard, Torres and a member from NESV had a meeting today. Kenny is on a "scouting" mission we're told.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Apparently when Dalglish was rejected by Purslow/Broughton...
Kenny had recommended Pellegrini....that was rejected for Hodgson...

LFC board....Now ...at least this time....please don't make the same mistake
and get a good manager.....
just listen to those with footballing brains....like Kenny and Rafa..

Re: Liverpool Thread

I've edited my last post to include "Roy's Fuck Up Of The Day", another quality quote.

Re: Liverpool Thread

i am not afraid that the current owners would sell Torres, it is situation simillar to Rooney in his case, no matter if he is on or out of form..he is important player on and off the pitch for the club and the owners are not stupid not to know...IF he is unhappy, who would be under Roy..the solution will shurely come, and i doubt it will be selling him to the rival club ..that would be insane..and would not help us..

Roy´s days are numbered and i honestly never thought i will be happy to read we sacked our manager...Seems like he lost all dignity and brains...with all his comments...

Pellegrini's agent claims are irrelevant as I've been told that Rijkaard will, without question, succeed Hodgson at #LFC in next five days.
