Liverpool Thread

Re: Liverpool Thread

I agree, its a good front three...but will this front three can be fit for a whole season...? I doubt

Re: Liverpool Thread

Sorry but Messi, Villa and Ibra/Pedro/Iniesta/Bojan pisses all over everyone, even Bayern's front line is better so not sure why Robben's saying that.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Gerrard hypes up Cole....comparing him to Messi ...a player who just
scored 50 goals last season...
Robben hypes up the front 3....assuming they will even all play together
in a front-3....
It is ridiculous to compare them to Barcelona...when will these
guys stop talking big words....
A ball has not even been kicked...

Hodgson won't be fooled.... he said Cole has to prove it on the pitch..
Words won't win you matches.....
He is a manager who I hope will play the best team....and not try
to appease the "stars"... and will take no nonsense.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Any news on why Insua's transfer has not been finalized yet ?
There were no announcements as yet.

Riera's exit is confirmed.

Regarding the left-back....I wish we had Warnock....he will
be a better bet than Bridge who I hope we dont sign.

Re: Liverpool Thread

i've heard that Warnock wasn't happy here and has slagged Liverpool off privately to his mates.

Tbh i thought Warnock was gonna be a quality player but i don't think he reached his potential, he's a good player but there are loads better out there. But i don't think Reto Ziegler is better tbf.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Sounds worrying about Torres, the only good thing is I can't see a destination for him.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Torres ...i dont belive he dont want to stay...just knowing Purslow and the Chelsea rat talked with him...explains it all...

Re: Liverpool Thread

maybe but..why then Torres wears LFC scarf after world cup final and now Hodgson dont know if he stays or no...? That much chainged in short time for Torres suddenly?

Re: Liverpool Thread

All Hodgson said was "Unfortunately, I cannot do much more. His beef is with the club and not me".

The fact he wore a Liverpool scarf at the WC final is irrelevant, he obviously has an affection for you but maybe he's just not prepared to commit himself to a club who finished 7th and has got turmoil behind the scenes. I don't think he's been driven out of the club by Purslow. That's just the sensationalist paranoid bullshit that's typical of RAWK.

Interstingly, Hogdson was speaking to the NOTW, unless they ripped his quotes from another interview.

Re: Liverpool Thread

you're obsessed with RAWK for some reason.

It's a pretty shit forum which i haven't read for a long time and have never signed up to, but you seem to know more about what happens there than most of us anyway.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Torres asked for 4-5 top quality signings to the squad in March
after seeing our season go down the drain...

It's hard to see how that will happen without new investment....
Till now, probably Joe Cole comes close to that.....so we're still 4 short
of Torres' ambitions....

So given all that....it looks a bit grim.....why else would discussions
be going for so long with Torres and Purslow.
Unless something will happen end of August as Broughton said....then
we have some hope...

Torres though has not many places to go....Barca can't afford him...
he won't go to Real....can't see any Italian teams affording him either...
that leaves Chelsea and Man City....again can't see him going to Man City ... so that leaves Chelsea...and can they afford 50-60 million pounds ?

Unless Torres just hands a transfer request and goes for something cheaper...

On hindsight...if we had kept Crouch, Bellamy who had good seasons last
year....just think of it...we were stuck with Ngog....and ended up 7th..
we would have been better off without this stupid 4-5-1 formation....
and kept the likes of Crouch, Bellamy and persisted with Keane a bit more...
Surely we would have been in the top 4...and Torres would not have been
thinking of leaving.

Haha i'm far from obsessed mate, the funny thing is I havent read it recently either, i could just tell from Pipa's post that he had and that says it all about that place. Its so bad United, Arsenal and Chelsea forums have long threads taking the piss out of the stuff that gets posted on there. Foreign fans like Pipa and Liverbird are obviously quite impressionable to what seems like more local and hardcore supporters and the crap that they read on there is giving them a distorted view on things.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Personally I'd seriously consider selling Torres to City. Yes, on his day he's one of the best 3 strikers in the world...but...he has his days very few and far between. If you could get £70m for him, I'd definitely take it. You could realistically get 5 very good players for that, which I think would be better overall.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Torres when fit is worth around 60M but the fact he's a crock 30M would be the limit any team should consider paying for him.

Sometimes I read RAWK but i dont take it serious what I read there. If you remember my words, 1 month ago I said that Gerrard and Torres were going to stay because they are our only two players that generate sponsors. Torres, particulary, is a machine of generating incomes.
I also said that Purlsow did a very smart move. He brought Peter Bruckner, who has an impressive CV and is one of the best science doctors what there, and as he knows about finances and not about football he blocked the move of Eduardo Maciá and is following his advices.
Plus, I was never a Pro Rafa hardcore fan, so the RAWK profile doesnt really suit me.
