Re: Liverpool Thread

Graham Beacroft is saying it's Dalglish and Rush with a clause that they leave if they wish to bring a different manager in.

Re: Liverpool Thread

can't imagine Beacky knows anymore than anyone else to be honest.

something "creative" (i.e cheap) wouldn't surprise me at all.

and it's a tacky way of trying to keep the fans happy.

LFC isn't a mcdonald's happy meal...

Tbf my mum's got better sources than TalkSport.

I think bringing Kenny back is a stupid idea, are we Newcastle? The man's been out of management for 10 years, the game's completely different now. Rush was fucking abysmal at Chester so don't know why they think that'd be a good idea, Sammy Lee was shit at Bolton but at least he's got recent experience of Premier League management.

It's all a fucking joke. I just hope Martin O'Neill doesn't get the job.

Re: Liverpool Thread

It's clearly going to be Kenny, he wouldn't cost the owners anything in compensation plus he's a fans favourite (despite fans not wanting him to take the job).

Re: Liverpool Thread

Nice find Dags, just read about half of it (will read the rest later) but i have to say its spot on.The time is coming i think where fans are gonna have to vote with there feet if this club is to get rid of them twats! then Hicks will have to get a grip on a realistic price for the club. Next....Cue mass exodus of players from anfield. WANKER FUCKOFF BACK TO THE USA AND STOP STIFLING OUR CLUB! X 1000 FUCK I'M MAD

Re: Liverpool Thread

there's a protest at 6 pm outside Anfield if anyone can get along

Re: Liverpool Thread

I can understand a protest in a way ... but really, is it going to affect a single thing?

Benitez is going(gone?), the American's are still there and couldn't give a shit what we think. No matter if a hundred thousand people turn up tonight, Rafa will still go and players will be sold. They don't care about anything but lining their pockets and a group of people standing outside a ground isn't going to affect them in the slighest. Especially as their based in a different country anyway.

Re: Liverpool Thread

understand your point dags but what else can we do while there's little commercial activity that can be disrupted (i.e not going to matches etc)?

at least a decent number showing up registers our displeasure (and also gives Rafa some form of consolation that he's still loved here)

I can see the Rafa point, definately. But the owners just wont be affected.

Still though, if Rafa is on his way then it'd be a nice way to say goodbye I guess.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Tony Barrett reckons there won't be any press conference from Rafa, which is a real shame. So it might be a nice idea to get down and show support for the man tonight, it could be the last chance.

Re: Liverpool Thread

"I'll always keep in my heart the good times I've had here, the strong and loyal support of the fans in the tough times and the love from Liverpool. I have no words to thank you enough for all these years and I am very proud to say that I was your manager.

"Thank you so much once more and always remember: You'll never walk alone.

Actually felt really sad when I read this - it's not going to be the same without him. I did question a lot of his decisions but he was a nice man, i wish him all the best in the future.

Re: Liverpool Thread

I feel as low as I did the day Kenny left.

With Souness, Houllier (and Evans) I was ready for the change - I'd become uninvolved with them as human beings.

With Rafa I will always love him for what he did for the club and how he has fought for the club/supporters against the "owners".

Re: Liverpool Thread

If you can get a good manager in, then you might become a good side again.

I can't remember Kenny leaving much, I was fairly young then I think and didn't really have that attachment to the manager/players as I've got as I've grown up to appreciate the "club" more as opposed to just the match day.

I feel absoloutely gutted. And gutted is the word, because that's what's going to happen to our club now. Players will be sold, with no proceeds going to replenish the squad.

We're fucked.

I'll always admire Rafa though for fighting against the Americans, for Istanbul and the FA Cup against West Ham, and for being "one of us". So disappointed that it's come to this for him and I really hope he goes off to his next club and does really well.

Thanks Rafa :TU:

Re: Liverpool Thread

Good luck, Rafa thanks a lot,we will never forget Istanbul :WORSHIP: Thought - Right where's that fucking Hick's :COAT::RANT: FFS I WILL calm down soon..i hope:OOOH:

Re: Liverpool Thread

I hope Dalglish is intelligent enough not to manage Liverpool at this moment.
Both Dalglish and Liverpool deserve better.

Shame to see what happens at such a big club...this is bound to happen in Manchester too..

Agree entirely. I'm not sure it'll be good for Dalglish to take control.

And I've been saying that not too many Mancs have been laughing or gloating at us, because I think they might fear something similar might happen to them soon enough.

By the way, Rafa going paves the way for Chelsea fan and Liverpool chairman to give Torres to his Broughton's favourite team with no opposition from the manager. Joy. Conflict of interest but who cares? The FA? FIFA? Pfff.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Like I've said before, same thing at Milan. Leonardo was pushed out so we're probably getting someone cheap/in-house. Our budget is something like £15m and the competition is just running away.

Re: Liverpool Thread

I said it ages ago, if you can get 100M (or even more) for Torres Gerrard and Mascherano Then a base of

---------Reina------------
Johnson-Agger-Skrtel--???
------Lucas-???----------
--------Aquilani---------
-???----------------Babel?
---------?????-----------

Isn't that bad, even better if you can get in the house talents performing who haven't like Babel and Lucas.

But the manager wont get anywhere near £100m of that to actually spend on players. I'd be surprised if they got £10m.

The money from sales will go straight to the owners or the debt. Rafa was told this in a meeting, he wanted assurances that player sales will go into a transfer pot and they couldn't give him that assurance.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Well then your fucked but surely the money needs to be invested back into the team and the owners know that. the potential is still their if a manager like Roy Hogson took over.

Maybe I'm just a bit sentimental right now but I'd hope Torres would stand against this move.

Surely, more than ever he (and others) will want to fight for the club and supporters?

I truly believe Torres (specifically) when he says he's proud and honoured to play for us.
