Re: Liverpool Thread
I agree with the rest of your post but not this bit. Neville wasn't trying to hurt Maxi, as I said before he went for the ball and won it cleanly. Maxi's head was low and he got caught with his back foot. There was no intent, just commitment and determination to win the ball. If it had've been say Insua on Park, or Johnson on Park (as actually happened) I'm pretty sure this would have been forgotten but because it's Gary Neville who every non United fan hates (which to a point I can understand), then it's blown up.
And surely if Gerrard showed half as much passion for his club as Neville did you'd be in a better position, no? Neville wears his heart on his sleeve and at the end of the day he's as big a United fan as anyone and doesn't care if he shows it. I don't see how you can disapprove of that when I'm pretty sure you'd condemn a player for showing no spirit for your team and playing like he doesn't care as long as he picks up his pay packet?!
I appreciate that mate, it's just the way the post I responded to implied Alan Hansen's opinion on a penalty given against Liverpool was the definitive verdict, when quite frankly it's just as valuable as any of ours.
And just for the record, what a nasty piece of work neville is,studs maxi in the head, and then celebrates like a demented yob at the final whistle, and this is the guy who is supposed to be setting examples to his team mates.![]()

PS: @ jumbo. I like your posts, but saying that Hansen is biased is from the same order as all those Liverpool fans who are now moaning about Webb. Hansen used to be a Liverpool player, but now he is a pundit...i guess he's professional enough not to be biased in favour of Liverpool...
