Re: Liverpool Thread

Mourinho tells Liverpool boss Benitez to stop Man Utd whining

Inter Milan coach Jose Mourinho has told Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez to stop whining.

Mourinho dismissed the claims of Benitez that fixture schedules and the intimidation of referees were key reasons for Manchester United's dominance.

"There is no bias," said Mourinho. "Chelsea were champions because we were the best team and Manchester United are champions because they are the best team. If Liverpool want to win, they have to be better. The best team wins."

And in explaining why he did not rest key players at Bologna yesterday, Mourinho delivered another thinly-veiled attack on Benitez and Liverpool.

"We do not rest players as we have to win the title. The big clubs are the ones fighting for the title and the Champions League at the same time.

"Before we played Liverpool in the Champions League semi-final in 2007, Liverpool rested ten players against Fulham. Liverpool lost and that result helped Fulham against another club in the fight against relegation.

"We're playing to win the title, so there's no rotation."

Re: Liverpool Thread

“I prefer to play Manchester United or Arsenal, because Liverpool are not a team who know how to play good football. They are very physical, they work and run a lot and they are tactically very well prepared.”

Awww poor Robben didn't like it when players tackled him with a bit of force  Pretty sure Chelsea struggled against us everytime they played us as well ... typical kid who throws a strop when he doesn't get his own way really.

Lost all respect for him when Reina gave him a light push and he flung himself to the floor holding his face. Embrassing.

Hope he plays tomorrow and Skrtel whacks him like he did to Richards on Sunday :JAY:

Re: Liverpool Thread

You've handily forgotten the other games then? Typical, would expect that from you as well.

Nice that you took the time to root through our history to try and prove me wrong tho

Re: Liverpool Thread

Having to look up our teams results against Chelsea? He'd have had to gone through our games during the last few seasons so he'd have spent a fair bit of time doing it.

He also chose to ignore the CL semi-finals as well I noticed. Again, typical Utd fan seeing what they want to see and not what's in front of them ;)

Re: Liverpool Thread

To be honest with you, when I think back to all the matches I can remember in recent memory, the first two that come to mind are the 4-1 game and the one where Garcia "scored" that goal in the CL.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Robben is a cunt. Simple as that. But a bloody good one too. Need to keep him quiet.

Going to take a special, special performance to get anything out of the Bernabeau.

Thats because the rest of the games were sh!te.

Re: Liverpool Thread

I think you guys are going to win 2-0, and it'll be easier than anyone predicted. Pure gut instinct, but that's how it's going to end up. Maybe. ;)

Re: Liverpool Thread

Win 2-0 tonight? Definately can't see that, I'd be happy with a draw but I expect us to get beat 1-0 I think.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Really not sure, tactically I think we will be good but I'm not sure how good our attack will be. Even moreso if Gerrard doesnt play. But then again Ramos has come out and said they are aiming for a 3 goal lead so it thats true they will really need to attack and I can see us picking them off with Torres in space and Alonso putting the passes in.

On a side note, as always, Benitez is leaving as betting has been suspended. Every big game this happens, not sure whether its media/opponents trying to get to us or whether it's Liverpool themselves taking the media spotlight away from the team.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Not looking forward to the game tonight, its gonna be a tough cookie and I dont think the club is in the right mind set with all the rafa going bollox.

I was confident about beating Real when we got the draw, but Ramos has revitalised them and they have brought in some additions whilst we were only weakened in Jan.

Playing away from home first isnt always an advantage. I think if you play at Home first you MUST get an away goal to give yourself a boost for the home leg.

Well I seem to remember apart from the goal that wasn't in the Champions League, it took Rafa ages to beat Jose.

Anyways, you lot have got nothing to worry about with Real tonight. They haven't got a chance in hell of scoring against you. I see it being like when Barca played you and everyone thought they'd batter you, and you just made their attacking prowess look like nothing.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Liverpool always up their game for these big occasions, so I can see them getting a surprise result today.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Rubbish performance by us, hoisting long balls up to an injured Torres who's getting hacked everywhere, and a dodgy ref with a very dubious injury time decision.

Luckily Madrid aren't posing too much of a threat so we might just get away with 0-0.

Re: Liverpool Thread

wow i hate arjen robben, what a little twat he is. you'd think his leg was getting broken in half the way he winces every time someone challenges him for the ball.

Yep, I forgot how much of a tit he is.

Anyway, great win for us. Neither team deserved to win that, neither keeper was tested really but Madrid had the better overall play really.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Robben was shocking today. So one footed, he might aswell amputate his left.

Great result, performance wasn't vintage, but...:D:D:D:D:D:D

Tbh I think that was more to do with us allowing them their "better play among their back four" then them being better. Comfortable throughout. Although the headlines tommorow will be "Poor Poor Real Lose". I think if we actually wanted to attack we could have scored more. There was so much space when the full backs went forward.

And Fergie's "wind-up/mindgame" of saying Real are far too slow looks more like an objective opinion then anything else. Pedestrian.
