Think Babel will never fulfill his potential here. For a player like him, it's better to go to some second tier to European club. Like Valencia, or Lyon.

If given the choice, I'd swap him for Antonio Valencia in an instant.

Considerning we've spend 3/4 of the season so far without the deadly duo playing together (gerrard and torres) we've done quite well. No time for them to turn it on again :D

I'd have no playmaker in the world than Alonso. I'd have no attacking midfielder in the world than Gerrard. I'd have no striker in the world than Torres. The fact that those 3 compliment each other is a bonus. That's the best spine in the world IMO.

I read a comment somewhere, but it went along the lines that Liverpool are poor creatively because Rafa has so much control over them. You can see he gives Gerrard and Torres freedom and they prosper, but on the wing Babel especially has too much defensive duties and lack of regular playing time to do any better. You can see how Gerrard becomes less effective when having added defensive duties. Now compare his skill/mentality/experience to Babel's and its no wonder the lad is having a tough time.

Justify it how ever you want. Theres no way you can convince any unbiased person that a trio of Alonso, Gerrard and Torres is better than Rooney, Ronaldo and Torres.

It wont be 3 points for long though, im guessing we'll be 6-7 points ahead by the end of Feb, maybe even 9.

Hopefully Keane will play. I know he's not been the best, but there's no point keeping him rotting on the bench. If we are to win the title, we could do with another match winner, alongside Gerrard and Torres, and Keane, at his best, is definitely one.

I'd really like to see:

Babel - Torres - Keane
Riera - Masch - Gerrard
Aurelio - Agger - Skrtel - Arby (more attacking option then Carra)

It's again Wigan (without Husky) so a good place to try this system. Although I doubt Rafa would let Masch be left alone in the DM mode, I've always put 1 DM in the midfield (not 2) at FM games and done well.

that formation leaves gerrard with too many defensive duties..lol what am i saying rafa will fuck it up with another boring defensive formation anyways

The Liverpool team in full: Reina, Arbeloa, Carragher, Skrtel, Aurelio, Benayoun, Lucas, Mascherano, Babel, Gerrard, Torres.
Subs: Cavalieri, Dossena, Agger, Keane, Alonso, Riera, Kuyt.

Happy to see Benayoun given a chance ahead of Kuyt. On his day, Benny is pretty damn good. He doesn't have those days often, very rare in fact. Still, even in his off-days he poses a more attacking threat than Kuyt I feel.
