Liverpool Thread

Re: Liverpool Thread

Alonso has been passed fit for tonight, Torres expected to start as well.

Can't wait :D

Re: Liverpool Thread

I'm feeling good today, let's go for the win boys ! And everyone is in contention to play tonight so hoping for a Keane Torres pairing with Ger and Alonso in the middle. Masch isn't needed until later.

Re: Liverpool Thread

I'm feeling good too. Normally have a bit of nerves before a derby but I'm feeling pretty confident about tonight.

I think playing at Anfield is a huge advantage, although I wouldn't be surprised if Everton parked the bus tonight.

Re: Liverpool Thread

You don't say.....

We'll win the league this year, no problem.

The thing is im actually serious, I cant believe were top! I thought you would be 3-4 points ahead of us but we'd claw it all back in February, Instead by the end of Feb you may be 5-6 points of us.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Yeah it's true.... last season we didn't catch Arsenal til the end of February, if we win it this season, it'll be because you dropped points when you should have pulled right away by now. The players just don't quite have that winner's mentality yet.

You were always a couple of points behind when you consider the games in hand. So it's no surprise you are on top. But we'll beat you at Old Trafford and then win the league.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Horrible, dirty fuckers.

How has Neville not been booked? How was Jagielka not pulled up for yanking Torres' left shoulder back when he was clear through?

And their shitty long-ball hoofs constantly.

Jeez, definately the worst team to watch in English football

Loved Torres' run though, skinned the blue shite and outclassed them completely :D Even more funny when Pienaar tried a desperate lunge from behind in an attempt to bring Torres down and Torres still got away with the ball

Why so serious?

:BOP:

Re: Liverpool Thread

QUOTE OF THE YEAR, already!
:LMAO:

So when's your DVD coming out?

Why did Rafa take off Torres and settle back and invite pressure? Knowing Everton HAD to attack in the last few minutes, the BEST player to be there for a counter attack is Torres!

And what's the point in Keane being at us? He's played another poor game today, although he ran their players around and tired them out I guess. So Rafa takes him off ... again. Now I'm not being funny but if I paid £20m for a striker and I subbed him off much more than he finished games, something isn't right.

Re: Liverpool Thread

He didn't get much service to be fair and looked well pissed off when he got subbed. Gerrard and Alonso were average by their standards and apart from the goal didn't really do much. And Rafa's subs were crap, stupid decision to take both strikers off. Once again too cautious.

Re: Liverpool Thread

So when's your DVD coming out?

cmon dags...chill man!
the real upset will be on saturday, lol

anyway it was a good game afterall..
imo it was quite fair result, seeing everton gave 100% all the time and fought till the end...

liverpool has a much better squad ,no doubt about it(simply look at gerrard's goal and torres with the ball... )but our boys just wouldnt give up would they.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Keane hasn't done a single thing since he signed for us. He's scored the ODD goal, but he's a striker. He's there to score consistently and setup goals. And he's not doing that, hence him being subbed.

I thought Alonso had a pretty good game today, especially considering the amount of GBH being thrown at him from the likes of Neville.

I have to agree about Rafa being too cautious though. And I have to say, that's going to cost us the title. We should be WELL clear and we're not. Mostly because Rafa has kept the team on a leash and not let us go out to ATTACK teams, just mildly threaten them and so we never pose a problem, resulting in something like 6 draws out of 11 games at home.

Not good enough, at all.

Re: Liverpool Thread

i agree with u...ive seen liverpool playing quite a lot this season, and when they have only one striker with gerrard playing behind him the team performs a lot better, isnt it?

about u guys beeing on top, i think the points u gotta really moan about are the ones lost against stoke city home/away for instance...
everton aint no dead horse, just remember utd also lost points against us.

Re: Liverpool Thread

I think it says a lot that the Everton fans are acting like they've won the game, and are so happy to have stopped us winning. Everton used to be gutted if they didn't win the derby, now they're happy just to stop us winning

And the singing at the end about United being top of the league? Again, it says a lot that the fans are singing so happily about a team they supposedly hate being top rather than singing about their own team.

Small club indeed. Must be horrible to be so bitter that you can't support your own club because you focus so much energy into your "rivals"

Re: Liverpool Thread

What I said before the game....
If Everton attack Rafa will bottle it and go for the point.

What ended up happening...
Why did Rafa take off Torres and settle back and invite pressure? Knowing Everton HAD to attack in the last few minutes, the BEST player to be there for a counter attack is Torres!

 Rafa seriously needs go for the kill otherwise you'll fade out and we'll stroll over the finish line...

Re: Liverpool Thread

Rafa doesn't know how to go for the kill, he's useless.

And Dags, you're saying they're bitter, but all you could do was call them 'Horrible, dirty fuckers' and moan about route one football, instead of concentrating on how poorly your lot played, to say the least I'd call that being bitter.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Rafa fucked it up tonight.

Keane off for Benayoun?!
Torres off for Lucas?!
Babel on when it was too late

We should have beaten Everton and had we not sat back for the last 10 minutes to defend the 1 goal lead we had we would have won it.

Re: Liverpool Thread

To be honest that game had 0-0 written all over it. Both goals came from poor defending, I mean Gerrard was in a square mile of space with 3 guys running horizontally trying to get in the way when everyone knows he can score from distance and your defending at that freekick, which was in the LAST FIVE MINUTES was just terrible. I mean leaving him free with 2 guys on 1 man is just ridiculous when you're trying to protect a single goal.

I dread to think what the reaction is like on RAWK.

c'mom m8, now youre beeing bitter...
offcourse a draw was a great result in this ocasion, those fans were perfectly right about celebrating it...
1st it was at anfield
2nd liverpool has a much better team
3rd this really upset u guys, since u lost important points...
4th we came from behind in what appeared to be another typical gerrard's hero day.

i think these are reasons enough to celebrate

also, about chanting for utd leading, im sure that had nothing to do with utd, but with teasing u guys...

u can say our current TEAM is not in the level as the top 4 , but to say everton aint a big club is a huge mistake imo.

From tonight's performance I do not see that happening we play very well at home just take a look at the Chelsea performance!

Re: Liverpool Thread

Just reading now, so far suprisingly realistic considering how they flipped out when United scored in the 90th min on Saturday!
