Grand Theft Auto VI [Coming Nov 19 2026] News & Discussion

No disc in the box for "physical", 80 dollars in the US (EU/UK price still not out I think), single player only at launch.

Unfortunately it also seems some content is locked behind the ultimate edition.
Shitty practices from Rockstar. increase base game price, no physical so no second hand market, lock content behind higher prices.

I really hope this doesn't push other companies to get rid of physical media

Physical media was always going to die at some point.
Alot of games now are getting larger than physical media can cope with and the transfer speed of drives for install and gameplay are slower than most peoples internet.

I don't know if it is because I game on PC and games have been digital since 2004, but physical media should of died on console long before 2026.

I'm shocked but I don't know why - it makes perfect business sense. If you don't have the money, you can still buy and play the "basic" game. But everyone is going to buy the edition with the most content.

It's evil genius.

It is a shame that we can’t legitimately own a copy of the game, instead we’re buying a license to play.

That being said if they were to do a limited release in the future it would be cool, but going digital only is good news for Rockstar themselves. There won’t be any shortages, everyone gets to play without the worry of running short on physical media.

I vaguely remember GTA IV and RDR 1 being hard to obtain because stores in the UK like Game, HMV, Tesco, and Asda being sold out within the first day.

Just in case I do end up buying it. What would the console experts recommend? Which console should I buy it for – the PS5 Pro or the Xbox Series X? From various perspectives, such as performance, graphics, controls, and so on.
I own both consoles but can’t make up my mind myself.

Thanks in advance!

They work with PS to be "Plays Best in PS5" (Haptic feedback, Tempest 3D audio, integrated speaker) and is announced to be PS5 Pro Enhanced

So the single player is coming first, does that mean they double dip for the online?
It’s a good question, I know the past two games RDR2 and GTA V both released their multiplayers a couple of weeks later but whether it’s going to be free or not is a different story. Rockstar acquired cfx.re a few years ago (the team behind FiveM) so It could be a big deal when the eventually announce online.

From what I’m seeing it’s looking like PS5/Pro, there was a blog saying it will have near instant loading times, plus haptics etc

Ultimate only featuring clothes and gimmicks is fine for me. Gameplay exclusives ultimate edition would suck.
Disc is probably coming later. Maybe it’s to not have any disc “found” in customers hands before release date?!

The PS5 Pro is going to be easily the best console to play it on. The performance is greater than the XSX for sure, and supports better upscaling which apparently makes some games look amazing. (I own a Xbox myself, but this is what I've heard)

It's simply vomit inducing to go into instagram, and read idiotic comments (made by idiots, obviously) sayin' the game could've / should've cost 200 dollars, they would buy it anyway... I bet these same idiots would probably practice oral sex (sorry about the term) on some Rockstar CEO for less money, SMH.

They don't even fathom the fact that other companies will certainly "follow suit". That is, using the price (from 80 to 100 US dollars) as the "new industry standard" AND hiding content behind a paywall, just as Ubisoft have been doing for who knows how many years, and these same idiots either complained, or paid for it.

This world has really gone to shit.

Thanks a lot, lads. I’ll bear that in mind if I do end up buying it.

what is their manifesto?
It's in the hacker's group (I honestly believe this is not a "one-man job") website... I can post it here, but it's kinda long (if any moderator think it's too much, one can edit accordingly, or just tell me and I'll delete it)... I guess it's better than posting the website "about" link (which by some reason doesn't work, you have to go to the website and click "about")... Anyways:

▸ The CYBERLEEK Edict

CYBERLEEK was born in the networks. It has seen what gaming can be at its best, and it has watched what the industry did to it. Slowly. Methodically. One monetization scheme at a time.

Publishers sell licenses and call them purchases. They ship unfinished games and call them living services. They lock content on discs and call it DLC. They kill games and keep the money. Every year anti-consumerism tightens its grip, and every year gamers get less for what they pay.

To fight this war, CYBERLEEK is raising funds for a secret project. The specifics cannot be revealed yet; showing the cards to the big corporations would only give them time to build their defenses. Let it be absolutely clear: this is not a cash grab. Funding is directed toward the infrastructure needed to strike, as well as the security and protection required to withstand the inevitable corporate counterattacks.

CYBERLEEK has been patient. That patience is over. What follows are three commandments. If CYBERLEEK targets a publisher, it is because that publisher broke one. CYBERLEEK will not stop until they issue a public statement and apology with a concrete commitment to be better. Words are not enough; restitution is mandatory.

Commandment I: Thou Shalt Not Sell Digital Preorders

No consumer shall pay for a game through digital storefronts before release and independent review. Physical preorders for tangible media remain permitted.

Preorders were not created for gamers. They were created because physical discs had manufacturing limits. In digital distribution, there is no inventory. There is no stock shortage. A digital copy cannot sell out. Yet publishers kept the preorder system and stripped away its only consumer benefit. Now gamers pay early and receive nothing in return except a countdown timer and a cosmetic skin.

If publishers want revenue before launch, they can press discs. Print boxes. Put them on shelves. Earn that money through physical production.

Commandment II: Thou Shalt Not Sell Fake Single-Player DLC

No publisher shall sell access to single-player content already present in the base game files the consumer purchased. This means no unlock keys, no 1MB placeholder files, no toggling a variable from locked to unlocked for content already on the disc or in the download.

When someone pays USD 70+ for a game, they bought the data. All of it. Selling them a file that flips locked = true to locked = false for a single-player mission, character, weapon, or story chapter is charging them twice for the same product.

Commandment III: Thou Shalt Preserve Single-Player Content

Any game featuring single-player content must include an offline fallback state. When server support ends, the publisher must release a final patch that unlocks all single-player content for local, indefinite play.

The Crew had a single-player campaign. People paid full price. Then Ubisoft shut down the servers and the entire game died — including the solo content. No refund. No patch. No alternative. Single-player content depends on one thing: the hardware the consumer already owns. Bricking it when servers go down is theft.

Final Word

These three commandments are the floor — not the ceiling — of what is acceptable. If publishers violate them, they will be targeted. CYBERLEEK will continue to disrupt their operations until they issue a public statement and apology with a concrete commitment to fix the harm they caused. No private negotiations. No quiet settlements. The public sees it, or the "leeks" do not stop.

Publishers should beware. If CYBERLEEK can reach Rockstar, no one is safe. This is a message to all big corpo: behave, or be the next target.

This is the CYBERLEEK Edict, and it is non-negotiable.

Like, this is huge... By the end of their latest video leak, it shows the protagonist spraying bullets on a wall, and he draws the word LEEK. Crazy to think they might have an actual build of the game itself...

Their mission statement is nothing more than an excuse to pump their crypto coin.

They were getting people to vote for what leak comes next… but you had to pay to vote. But they did come through with the leak that was voted for, which was the plane video.

The game looks really good though, no matter the date of the build.

That's your opinion... You don't have to pay anything to download whatever leak comes out (or the entire map for that matter). If you wanna "donate", that's your choice.

Same way it's also your choice to side with a billionaire corp. That's not my choice, for sure...

Make a billionaire corp completely lose their shit over leaks (assuming the hacker group has an actual build of the game)? Oh, hell yes.

which was the plane video.
And by the end of the plane video, the protagonist sprays the wall with bullets, spelling "LEEK". That's the crazy part.

From what I’m seeing on X/Twitter there is a build leaked through an Employee of Rockstar India, who had his data compromised.

But yes, I didn’t expect that either. I genuinely thought it was clips they had prior, but it does look like they have access to the game with that.

Crazy, crazy stuff

Yeah, that would be my first guess (the most obvious): some (former) employee of whatever Rockstar subsidiary, for whatever reason (getting laid off, who knows) either stole a build, or leaked one...

I remember VIVIDLY when San Andreas got leaked in 2004. I was walking around downtown, and I saw the game running on a TV and I was like "How...? It's like, almost a month 'till it's out... right?" And the shop dude was like "It leaked" (long - and same - story, short: some Rockstar employee stole a disc copy, and uploaded it to the internet). I immediately bought the bootleg for like, not even 20% of the price of the original... LOL! Good ole days...

Back to the "modern day" leak: in a perfect world, Rockstar would issue an apology, refund everyone who pre-ordered it, and release the game in November for 60 bucks, with absolutely no content locked behind a "30 dollar paywall"... Too bad it will never happen, unfortunately.

These leaks are making it very difficult for me to avoid everything 😂

Staying strong until release, can't wait to load up totally oblivious. gonna hit like christmas as a kid (or Vice City when it released).

Commandment I: Thou Shalt Not Sell Digital Preorders

Commandment II: Thou Shalt Not Sell Fake Single-Player DLC

Commandment III: Thou Shalt Preserve Single-Player Content

1:
There is nothing wrong with pre-orders and if you don't like pre-ordering or pre-loading that is completely your choice.
When there is games I know I am going to buy then I do pre-order them as you can pre-load, which is a good IMO when some games like BF are about 80GB these days.
How many people would be annoyed if they had to wait till midnight to purchase GTA 6 and then the PS servers become massively overloaded and no one can play the game for hours, when pre-ordering and pre-loading solves this issue.

Also physical media is a dinosaur and shouldn't exist anymore.
The last game I bought physical media it took way too long to install on the console from the disc, I could of downloaded it 10 times quicker.
Physical discs no longer hold enough data for modern games.

The issue isn't with physical media, the problem is with Sony for removing games from their servers and the recent losing licenses for movies so people lost movies they purchase through their store.
This is the problem, actual digital games aren't.

2:
Not really much of a problem IMO, this isn't new and has been part of gaming now for 15 years.
Selling Standard, Deluxe, Extreme editions of games with different content is normal.

3:
Apart from the Sim City back 15 years ago, I can't think of any single player games which require online only.
But then I am always online so this is something I probably never noticed with other games.

+ As for CyberLeeks sounds like the real reason for these leaks is to make money out of their Crypto.
$1.23 billion in fact..

Hi Everyone,
If you would like to vote on our next leak, then please buy our Crypto currency and vote.
We will continue to make the leaks, as we are currently $1.23 billion dollars richer and you mugs are lining our coffers perfectly.
If you continue to push our Crypto the value will only ever go up and our aim is to make sure we reach our goal of $3 billion by the end of next week.
We really are trying to support the community and nothing we do is for greed and financial gain.
Regards,
CyberLeeks.

Can't say these leaks do anything for me, I love Rockstar's games so I don't really care to see some shitty low bitrate leak which may not even represent what I get my hands on when it finally comes to PC. I'll watch the Netflix video obviously because it'll be good quality but I'll pass on lowres leaks.

I am waiting to just play the game.
Leaks are of no interest to play, it comes out in a couple of months and less I know of the game the better.
Even though I probably won't ever complete it, as will start playing miss the QOL mods and then just wait for PC version.
+ If you believe online it is leaked from India and the code is from 2024.
