Gran Turismo 5

Re: Gran Turismo 5 (PS3)

Ye they are going to keep adding to it full game like year away in winter the damage update is coming. :))

Re: Gran Turismo 5 (PS3)

These guys are either big time slackers or shit programmers because i could of sworn this game has been in development way before ps3 came out! forza 3 is gunna come out before this for fucksakes. says it all realy. wont be surprised if forza 4 comes out before gt5 too!

Re: Gran Turismo 5 (PS3)

lot of time passed - not much happened! one patch so far, 3 new cars, minor improvements. i still love racing this, but come on, where are the updates!

Re: Gran Turismo 5 (PS3)

Slow updates unfortunately damage update supposed to be happening but thats all gone quiet.

Re: Gran Turismo 5 (PS3)

They always take ages doing things for this game - when they say it's a year from release it's actually 2-3 years. Wouldn't surprise me if they saved damage for the full game as a selling point.

Re: Gran Turismo 5 (PS3)

yeah, it's a lot of fun to tweak your cars, tr to learn drift techniques etc., overall a lasting game...:) but not enough content...

Re: Gran Turismo 5 (PS3)

More hints of a PC version. I know the PC has it's fair share of sim racers but a lot of people still like GT games. Improved graphics and higher FPS can only enhance the game.

SCEA marketing head John Koller has dropped a heavy hint that Gran Turismo’s future may not be limited to just PSP and PS3.

“[Polyphony Digital] report directly into our CEO, Kaz Hirai, so it’s a little bit of a ‘wait and see’,” the exec told VG247 when asked when we can expect to see GT5.

“But we look for that franchise to continue on as many platforms as possible.”

Koller said in the same interview, recorded at GDC, that Sony is currently looking at “GT5 across all platforms, just to see what makes the most sense.”

PC gamers may do well to get excited by the talk. Polyhony head Kazunori Yamauchi’s already said that “perhaps [GT5] comes to the PC,” talking specifically of a Chinese launch.

It doesn’t take the hugest leap of logic to guess Koller may be talking about a PC SKU here.

E3, kids

Re: Gran Turismo 5 (PS3)

madmurdock over at AVForums posted a bit of news (rumour?) that was circulating around the GTForums - some interesting stuff it seems, although I'm sceptical about the release date being the end of this year.

A new bit of info: -

A very credible poster over at the GTPlanet forums posted today about GT5. Of course, it is rumor mill for now, but the poster, Amar, has been right before. From what we can deduce, GT5 should have a worldwide release in the next 12 months, possibly this December. The game will feature over 600 cars, 96 tracks including GT4 remakes, and a track editor where you can splice different parts of existing tracks together. The game will support clan plan, voice chat, and a party mode. There will be two release versions, On where you will pay a large amount of money that allows free access to all future DLC, and one where you have the option to pay a smaller amount and pay for the future DLC individually.

* Worldwide release - December (maybe)
Over 600 cars
96 tracks including GT4 remakes
Track Editor - splice your own track together - Holy
Clans
Voice Chat
Party Mode
Other rumours:
Changeable weather
Damage to Race cars only

Re: Gran Turismo 5 (PS3)

some news. if true then awsome.

Well it looks like car damage is all but confirmed.

A head honcho at PD recently said they're almost to the point of being able to simultate damage on race cars. So that sounds like a good compromise with getting the game this decade, I cannot comprehend how long it would take to do full damage on all 600+ cars.

That should appeal to the arcade scrub/burnout types who need carnage. Rain will be included too. I think it's all been in the works, but they kept a tight lid and abandoned Prologue. Can't wait to see the E3 presentation.

The deluxe version of this game with free dlc will be like GT5 and GT6 combined. Although the stock game is supposed to have almost 100 tracks !

Re: Gran Turismo 5 (PS3)

I've ordered GT5 Prologue again, I want to experience that awesome cock pit view again and play it in 5.1 for the first time.

I won't go online though, when the demo originally came out there were very few honest drivers online.

Re: Gran Turismo 5 (PS3)

There never is any honest drivers in most racing games. its best to organise and play with people you know.

apparently this game will have clan support so we could create a avf/evo web clan again just like the blu rays BAP team and just race eachother.

Gran Turismo 5 will have weather changes, night racing

Gran Turismo head honcho Kazunori Yamauchi has dropped a couple of tidbits regarding the upcoming fifth instalment in the popular racing simulation franchise.

Speaking during a mini-interview concerning the relationship between the Audi R8 and Gran Turismo 5, Yamauchi confirmed that the sequel will feature improved visual effects, including weather changes and night time racing.

“We are also working flat out on a realistic graphic representation for rain and night,” he noted. More importantly, however, Yamauchi also reiterated that car damage will be present: “And damage to racing cars, we will soon be able to simulate.”

Gran Turismo 5 has yet to attract a solid release date, with recent reports pointing to a late 2009/early 2010 launch. Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available to us.

Re: Gran Turismo 5 (PS3)

I just spent 45 minutes updating the game only for a silly error to occur

Anyway the game is acting as if I have to start all over again but it recognises my game save when I click on save.

What can I do to continue with my game save?

EDIT: It won't play my replays now also, it says its the wrong format. WTF?!

Re: Gran Turismo 5 (PS3)

Its GT5 Prologue, its as if they've changed something somewhere because I have to start from scratch now.

When I originally had the game the same update refused to DL.

Re: Gran Turismo 5 (PS3)

Great trailer during the Sony conference, we can see WTC abd Nascar licences and collisions.

Re: Gran Turismo 5 (PS3)

Gran Turismo 5 (PS3) to be released this holiday?

I know, this isn't confirmation per se, but Matt Levitan said in an interview over at The Globe and Mail the following when asked about Gran Turismo 5:

"As for Gran Turismo 5, we haven’t released an official date, but we’re trying to get that out this calendar year, so it could be a holiday game as well."

Since the newest E3 trailer didn't show any date, I guess many people, including me, were let down. But this could actually mean it is MUCH closer to a release than we thought. And, I guess, Sony needed some ammo left for either GC Cologne or TGS.

Re: Gran Turismo 5 (PS3)

Thats great news. Im really impressed with whats been shown. Damage, night racing, NASCAR license, WRC license and a possible Le Mans license too. I just hope they have a license for open wheel racing. I know F1 is not a possibility since Codemasters own the license now but CART, IndyCar, A1GP and GP2 all remain great alternatives. Fingers crossed for a December release.

Re: Gran Turismo 5 (PS3)

The HD trailer that's on the US store looks lovely. Same video as at E3 but just in HD

Re: Gran Turismo 5 (PS3)

It looks great, I just hope it plays great. I had GT5P for a while but compared to Forza 2 I thought it was awful, it didn't feel like driving a car - more like a ten-ton weight with shopping trolley wheels. To quote DJ, I don't think the physics were quite right.

Saying that Forza 2 became history eventually because of the disgraceful amount of tracks, play one or two events and you've seen them all. Like playing League One on FIFA where you see all two stadia in your first few games.
