Re: Gran Turismo 5 (PS3)

Great to look at? Anorexic skanky whores are vomit inducing.......

I couldn't think of a gorgeous yet very dull woman last night...Paris was the first person to pop into my head. ;))

I think she's quite nice to look at anyway:

Yep ThomasGoal loves things Big Black and Shiny.... :)

Thomas are you saying that this pic is not nice to look at? Would you seriously turn down a night of passion with her? Honest answer please.

ANYWAY back on-topic, someone explain to me why Gran Turismo 5 is so cheap? Is it just an expansion or something?

Re: Gran Turismo 5 (PS3)

She looks 'hot' in that pic but she ain't all that.

Its cheap because its a Prologue, some would say a glorified demo but one with 70+ cars, 16 player online races, GT TV and more.

Re: Gran Turismo 5 (PS3)

Its in between a demo and a full game, the price point is fair.

One could pay £40 quid for Turning point fall of liberty...

Re: Gran Turismo 5 (PS3)

If the Forza team released a Prologue-style game for £20 I'd be one of the first to get it. There, I said it. Call me what you want but if you like a game you like a game.

I'd love it even more if there was a FIFA Prologue game in-between versions. I'm glad Euro 2008 is out this year, I don't see why people are against spending money on something twice a year if you get a kick out of it and it's genuinely worth the money (see my post in the FIFA 08 thread for an in-depth description of getting a kick out of a game).

If it's a pile of crap I can see why, and that might yet be the case, but if it isn't and you spend countless hours on it then I don't see the harm. You buy it or you don't.

Re: Gran Turismo 5 (PS3)

That's what it's worth to you, but if it was Forza then I would happily pay out £20 for it. (That's not a knock at Gran Turismo, I'm just saying that I would.)

Re: Gran Turismo 5 (PS3)

If I knew a Fuller version was coming out not too long after I would hold off buying a Demo... I know ill buy Euro 2008 but you know what I mean!

if it helps you decide, gt5 wont be out till 2009!!

Re: Gran Turismo 5 (PS3)

I've thought GT has always been a decent game, but it has been one of those ones that is always much more focused on the graphics and not the gameplay.
My mate said he would probably get GT5, can see how good it is then.

Re: Gran Turismo 5 (PS3)

Not to keen on London track its nicely modelled and all but much prefer Fuji or Eiger Nordwand. :))

Cant wait for full game for Top Gear test track though.:DD

Re: Gran Turismo 5 (PS3)

That looked pants... and it made me realize i couldn't hack the no damage, it's pointless there are no consequences?

There is actually time penalty if you smack an opponent it slows you right down and it judges the severity of it so it could be 4 seconds plus before you can go faster.

There is also the same if try to cut corners and try to gain advantage it happens aswell.

 Smeg it gets worse... I can understand the penalty for corner cutting.... I'll wait for the full game

Crash into a wall with damage you lose the race as everyone over takes you

Crash into a wall (or opponent as above) on GT - you lose the race as everyone overtakes you

--

I think I'd prefer no damage anyway - stops morons ramming your RWD car and taking you out of the race while they speed off with a slightly dented bumper and paint scratches on the drivers side door for no reason.

That's called motor racing, crash into a wall what do you expect.. the last part is down to really pants crash damage physics.
I'm not knocking people who will buy this or love it, I just don't get why you would. It's like ten pin bowling with the lane guards up...

Re: Gran Turismo 5 (PS3)

Is there any tyre physics at all?

It looks so insipid - I wonder what improvements they've made to the physics since the original GT on PS1....

I dont see what problem is in effect it will make for more of cleaner race now this is in effect for sp i havnt played online.

At end of day it dosnt have no damage not so big of problem for me i prefer to race then smash my car up but hey ho.

I dont know what else could be implemented because when you say there is "no damage and consequences" well implementing slowing someone down if someone rams you there penalised for it.There is no damage in Prologue im afraid that wont be changed so got to deal with it still dosnt take away from racing expereince imo.

I understand that people want damage but thats not the be all and end all in racing game its about handling and gameplay for me.Take PGR 4 its only has minor damage but is still a great game to play despite its arcadey nature its going to be marmite game you either love it or hate it end of day and i love it.

Re: Gran Turismo 5 (PS3)

I remember getting that "slow down to 5mph" penalty in GT4 over and over and over, in situations where the CPU bashed ME, or I just clipped something so slightly that I didn't even notice it.

Not looking forward to it even slightly any more, I'd forgotten just how much I hated it!!

Re: Gran Turismo 5 (PS3)

It sucked, since it made no distincion between ramming or being rammed. We would always get the pena~tly one way or the other.

But like I said the AI needs to be improved, and no 24h endurance races.
Where is the logic in that? I remember getting the fastest car and let the AI drive for me. But I still would have to check on it to put it back a 3x speed.
