Football Manager Series

I think they need to worry more about how shite the graphics are, none of the players look correct and it generally looks very poor.
Improving the general graphics and match engine should be way more important than eyes tracking.
Reminds me of years ago when FIFA put in their patch notes they updated Pogba's hair.

I love to see what modders are doing, and without them, I don't think I'd play FM.

PES and FM are the two games that I personally think need mods in order to add authenticity (including making FM more difficult/realistic).

But I have to say, I really don't care about faces personally. Unless you're playing with camera mods, when are you realistically going to see them? It's amazing work, don't get me wrong!

Again, fair play to them for sorting it and delivering some other fixes too:

However, this official response from SI to a very minor bug is pretty concerning, considering how much they've pushed Unity as the key to a better game (and how dreadful the UI experience is in comparison to the previous one):

Reddit - SI Alarming Admission

This appraisal from the above thread mirrors my concerns:

"Let's move to a new engine so we can de-spaghettify our codebase"

\*fucks up project/time management so spectacularly, just dumps spaghetti into new engine to have some sort of MVP ready to ship\*

"This tiny issue is too difficult to fix because our codebase is spaghetti. Thanks for the £45."

Honestly, at this point I'm worried about the series' future. I've damn near as little faith in FM27 as I had with FM26 ahead of its launch, and if they've *already* fucked the new codebase to the point where tiny UI changes "require multiple resources to be taken off of other more important areas", I don't really see shit improving in FM28 and beyond either.

Can you change the squads in World Cup mode or are you stuck with the real ones?

I always found that odd in the latest FIFAs, “Decide the World Cup…on your terms!!” and they wouldn’t let you change the squads or customize anything (besides groups, oddly).

I believe there is two options.
You can start end of May and choose your own squad - This is what I done when the patch was 1st released.
The new patch I believe adds a 2nd option where you start 1st of June and the squads are finalised.

I always like to pick my own squad as it means you can pick players to suit your tactics rather than having to be adaptive to the players in the squad + Who wants Jordan Henderson in the England squad and Joe Whitworth is always my 3rd choice keeper.

Will update the graphics and everything on 1st August.

Since the signings are coming quick now, will upload the data update for FM24 and FM26 every Friday.

If there are any other mods people want as a complete pack post in here.

Bit of a far-fetched request - does anyone have the full version of Football Manager 2006 (not the demo)? I like the older versions and tend to like seasons before World Cups.

I will put all the updates and graphics on the website tomorrow.

I will also start putting older FM games on the OneDrive too.
This will be any 'FREELY' available / Shareware versions of CM and FM games.

I will put the full list tomorrow.

Tried starting the game again today for the 26th time.
The UI is so complete dog sheet..

How does anyone play FM26 and not want to launch their monitor across the room, it is absolutely awful.
You can't do anything in a logical way and every time you click back it takes you back to a screen a few screens ago and you have to click back to where you were.

It is absolutely infuriating to do absolutely anything.

FM26 is absolutely terrible.

I agree, even though it has been the best game to me for a lot of reasons, playing it is just such a slog.

It isn't just the UI which is awful it is also the speed of the game.
It takes so long to get through pre-season and end of year.
Even the matches are incredibly slow and dull, it can take 5-10 minutes to run a match with only key events switched on.

The game has so many issues, mainly all by the infuriating UI, which takes forever to be able to make lots of staff changes.

The match engine although looks good with the in and out of possession but it is broken beyond belief with all the still killer strikerless formations.
Struggling to score? Then here is the solution don't play any strikers.

The amount of data which is displayed on the screen, moving to Unity to make the game easier to develop for consoles was a bad choice.
They have alienated their hardcore fan base who want a challenge, FM26 is incredibly easy and seems to want you to win the league with a L2 side in 5 years and be Champions League winners in 6.

I was told off for saying RIP FM...hate to say I told you so. They sold out like the rest...

Wouldn't say they sold out - They have no microtransactions or any bad practices.

They decided to case the larger sales with the console crowd and they changed engine to make it easier for them.
The problem with this is we got a terrible UI for PC gaming and a dumped down version of the game.

I just won't buy the game this year and will wait for FM28.

But they do on consoles? I am always fascinated how people don't know that. Those are the in game purchases they have:
  • Transfer Boosts: Pay real money to add large sums of money directly to your club's transfer budget.
  • Player Force Transfers: Pay a fee to immediately force a specific player transfer into your squad.
  • Magic Sponge: Purchase quick fixes to instantly heal all active injuries across your squad.
In-Game Editor: Unlock the ability to edit player stats, club finances, and other attributes directly within your save

Imagine the first 3 being done by EA in their Career Mode and what the outrage would be.

I didn't know they did this on console.
This is clearly something console gamers want and have clearly asked for.

I guess it is a case of how much money do they make from it.
If you are an Arsenal fan, I guess you would pay a couple of quid to get Mbappe at the club.

...
FM26 is absolutely terrible.
Much more easy just uninstall game and keep own health in good condition, also all technics now have high cost.
But this phrase, certainly, also quickly give understanding about "Quality of Product" itself.
