Football Manager 2011

What kind of game are you looking for Kev? You want to start lower then move up? You want a challenge in the Prem? I think you should go Fulham and we can compare our games. :)

I have no idea why, but I've been thinking Southampton???

I usually go Liverpool, but I don't want to displace Kenny

is there anyway to fix how waste full my team is in front of goal I've created a 4-3-3 to play like barca we have about 70% of the ball and around 20 shots and end up winning 1-0 or losing a match we completely dominated

You can try taking creative freedom away from your strikers.

Around the 80th minute of the game, I change tempo to slow, raise time waisting to often, change passing to shorter and go defensive or counter. In the shouts I choose retain possession and pass to feet.
Yeah I do that most of the time I start to move the time wasting up from about 60mins if we are winning. Those two 3-3 games were just bizarre though, my HT teamtalk was "don't let your performance drop" so fuck knows what they did!

Man I put Celtic in the Championship and I am doing shocking wtf.

I thougt it woudl be easy 1st season. I am bookies favourite for promotion but getting beat of teams like NOrwich and stuff wtf.

I mean I only played like 7 games so far and mid table so not had much time to adjust and play about with tactis and squad.

But I play standard stuff and with the usual celtic XI would expect to win most championship games regardless of mangement tweaks.

Well at least Im in champions league for extra cash

I think in the tips it says not to start time waisting to early or it may backfire. Be careful with that.

I have a tight race going here now. After 26 games this is the table:

1. Fulham +26 GD 56 pts
2. Arsenal +36 GD 55 pts
3. Man City +29 GD 54 pts
4. Chelsea +22 GD 53 pts
5. Liverpool +23 GD 51 pts

My next match is away to Arsenal. This is a huge match for me. I want the win.

Here is how I have setup for this match.
I am playing Rigid with Counter Attack. Man Marking. Deep Defensive Line. Narrow Width. Normal Tempo. Mixed Passing. Everything else on default. For the Fans was my team talk and expect to pick up where you left off to anyone that will take it.

I will give updates for this huge match.

Brede Hangeland just scored for me from a corner in the 18th minute.

Arsenal 0 - 1 Fulham

Chamakh just score from a cross with his head in the 36th minute.

Arsenal 1 - 1 Fulham.

I went defensive for the rest of the half.

Half time all tied.

Half time team talk is For the Fans for the majority of the team. I have a striker on a 6.1 so I choose prove a point. I have a couple of players on 6.6 so I choose disappointing. Since Brede scored I tell him you have faith. I made a role change to my striker that was on 6.1. I change him from complete forware to poacher. I'll change back to counter to start the 2nd half.

Diaby just scored from a corner in the 48th minute.

Arsenal 2 - 1 Fulham

I've made 2 subs in the 63rd minute. Brought on a striker for striker and a winger for a winger. They were both tired (70%).

In the 76th minute I bring on my last sub. An attacking advanced playmaker for my deep lying playmaker. This is in the MC spot.

Arsenal 2 - 1 Fulham FT
Had a couple of chances in the 2nd half but Arsenal dominated the 2nd half. That loss really hurts. I better pull it back together for the rest of the season. I want to win the league title this season.

In other news, I am in the Carling Cup Final against Blackpool. I'm in the first knockout round against Benfica in the CL. I'm in the FA Cup 5th Rd against Birmingham. Looking at the end of the season fixtures right now, I have Tottenham, Chelsea and Man United to finish out the season. This is going to be a tough finish.

Ah unlucky. I just got a 1-1 with Arsenal. Started on Counter, Rigid and Deep, Narrow and Slow. They scored a header from a corner after 9 mins. I stuck with it until 30 mins then went a bit faster and wider, then Bent scored a 20 yarder to equalise. I kept it like that until 70 mins when I started timewasting a lot, went wider but deeper and defensive.

Good job.

I beat Arsenal in the home and away in the semis of the Carling Cup. Oh well. I beat Benfica away 2-1 in the first leg of the first knockout rd in the CL. And not I just beat Birmingham 3-0 in the 5th rd of the FA Cup.

Just lost to 17th place West Ham away 2-1 before the Carling Cup Final. I had already been playing without my top striker for 2 months. Now in the game before the West Ham one, I lose my 2nd best striker for 4 weeks. Things are starting to turn south with these injuries. Not sure where the goals are going to come from. May need a change in tactics to compensate.

I've just got back into this again.

Leading my Rodos team to Greek glory. :D

Sitting top of the Greek Div. 2, although only half way through 1st season. Lost to Aris on pk's in cup.

I've boosted a little bit of the ratings for each Greek top teams and wiped their debt and given them a bit of money. Also made my team half decent too in terms of being a little more attractive. Never took obscene amounts of money though. Gave my rivals Diagoras wads of money and a great coach but they didn't buy anyone and have already sacked their manager and are 2nd bottom. (I stuck them in the top division).

Just started a game too with Montpellier in Ligue 1.
For the first time since i play FM i seem to have a very good defense: 1 goal in 12 matches (a penalty). I always play "control", with short passes and i must say this team plays beautiful football, an poor man's Barcelona...

First competition match was against Girondins de Bordeaux who seem to be a big rival of Montpellier. We beat them 3-0 and since them the fans and the board seems to love me...

I just finished 7th, and qualified for the Europa League! But my board are disappointed that we only achieved a respectable league position!? WTF

I've won the first knockout Rd of the CL against Benfica. I drew Hoffenheim in the quarters. That's the team I wanted to play and I got them. I guess I better beat them now. I'm also in the semis of the FA Cup. I get either Wolves or West Brom I believe.

I've beaten West Brom and Bayern. So I am in the finals of the FA Cup and the CL against Shef Wed and Real Madrid respectively. I have 3 games left in the prem. Totenham away (7th), Chelsea home (1st) and Man U away (8th). Some very tough games coming up. Here's the top of the table:

1 Chelsea +34 GD 75 pts
2 Man City +37 GD 73 pts
3 Fulham +35 GD 72 pts
4 Liverpool +35 71 pts
5 Arsenal +35 69 pts

Chelsea plays Arsenal, myself and Man City.
Man City plays Everton (6th), Totenham and Chelsea.
Liverpool plays Man U, Sheff Wed and Wigan.
Arsenal plays Chelsea, Man U and Sheff Wed.

Liverpool has the easiest matches left it seems.

Match Day 36:
Totemham 1 - 2 Fulham
Chelsea 2 - 1 Arsenal
Everton 1 - 2 Man City
Man U 1 - 0 Liverpool

Table:
1 Chelsea 78 pts
2 Man City 76 pts
3 Fulham 75 pts
4 Liverpool 71 pts
5 Arsenal 69 pts

2 games left

Match Day 37:
Fulham 1 - 0 Chelsea
Arsenal 0 - 2 Man U
Liverpool 4 - 0 Sheff Wed
Man City 4 - 0 Totenham

Table:
1 Man City 79 pts
2 Fulham 78 pts
3 Chelsea 78 pts
4 Liverpool 74 pts
5 Arsenal 69 pts
6 Man U 67 pts

Looks like I can finish anywhere between 1st and 3rd.

Last day fixtures:
Chelsea v Man City
Man U v Fulham

You finished second, lost the CL final but won the FA CUP.
If you did the treble: congratulations, that is huge...

The best i ever did in this game is winning Serie A with Palermo and the Premiership with Everton, but never ever silverware in Europe.
I played with Fulham on FM handheld and almost got relegated.

Drum roll please...

Gerd is correct. I'm impressed. Man City beat Chelsea and I drew with Man U so I finished 2nd. I stomped Sheff Wed 4-0 in the FA Cup. I lost to Real Madrid on penalties in the CL Final. I was missing 2 key players (playmaker and striker) do to reaching the yellow card limit. And 2 other starters were out do to injuries picked up in the FA Cup (MR and LB). I wasn't as concerned with the injuries because they were splitting time with other plaers. So I won the double if that counts (Carling Cup and FA Cup).

Well becanes, i don't enjoy being correct here.
I would have wished you the treble...next season better.
I still think it's a very good performance.
