Football Manager 2008

You guys should start a new thread about your league and keep us uptodate on it. Should be an interesting league. And maybe I can get some pointers in my FM career at the same time.

Nah I don't like that myself. Too much of one colour and a bit too bland. The different parts of the game don't stand out enough.
 
I like the look of the Siple Ultimate and Turnstyle skins, I just can't get used to the icons it uses in the bar at the top, the ones with the default skin are much easier to recognise what is what and I am used to them. The Siple skin for 07 had the default menu icons, and it was a great skin.
I will just stick with the default skin for now.

This should be good tonight if we can get the season started :).
 
The Evo Web Football Manager season is underway :DD

After the preseason going on a bit too long for some peoples liking- we have had a few drop outs!!! But we still have a hardcore faithful of Me, Coopz, Joe and Rob.

I won the Supercopa (I think thats how its spelt?) in two thrilling legs against Real Madrid - where I won on Goal difference with a goal in injury Time in the second leg :DD

We have done the first game of the season aswell - with some mixed fortunes with me and Rob winning - Coopz Drawing and Joe losing (Although it was away to Barca!! - I'm sure most of us will suffer away to them)

All in all - I expected pre season to take a while. When you have atleast 4-5 people all looking for transfers and sorting out their teams - it is going to take a while. Also the Processing times do not seem to take too long - if everybody presses continue.

I personally watch the T.v and do other stuff if it is taking a long time - So the time really doesn't bother me. (But I do have a laptop and can kick back and relax!)

I can't wait when we meet eachothers teams in the league - thats when this game will move to another level and the waiting times will be a distant memory :DD
 
My match was a home game against Valladolid, which I really deserved to lose! They dominated the match but I managed to grab a goal and hold on.

Results matter, not performances, so it is a good start to the season really.

I was giving them too much space, I will need to up the closing down or make the formation more narrow I think.
 
I Usually do ok at home - Its when I go away from home it all goes pear shaped. I find it hard to come up with a consistantly effective formation etc for away games. So I usually against the big teams I don't have a chance of winning and I struggle to get positive results against the lessor teams.

But I am working on my tactic and I will see where it gets me :DD

Believe me if I get a winning streak of a couple of games - I will be happy.
 
Well i played Shite in my first home game

I went 1-0 up then got hammered for the rest of the game and was lucky to come away with a draw, 16 shots to my 6 say it all :LOL:

change of tactic is needed and i think i need a ball winner in centre mid
 
well I have the worst team out of the people left (which is anoying because I could of chose a better team grrr), and I got bummed 3-1 at Barca and Im lying 2nd bottom! woot

You will be alright Joe :DD have faith. We play eachother in a few games I think :))

Me and CW have started a game with just us 2, in the Spanish BBVA, (Spanish 2nd Division), I am Tenerife and CW is Real Sociedad. We're in November at the mo, (after 2 days :LOL:), and it's going well for us both. I was on a 5 game unbeaten run, then played CW and he wankered me 5-0 :CRY:. I hold my hands up, I got it completely wrong, should have been a lot more defensive against a good team, away from home.

I definately think small numbers are the way to go in this :TU:.

How many hours you put in to get to November?
 
I don't even do it that quickly on my own :SHOCK:

Unless I play it for many hours in a row
 
12 hours 49 minutes

And we are on the 1st of December :)). We started it Friday night for an hour, then Saturday night from about 9.30pm til 1.30am. Then yesterday during the day for a fair few hours. Then yesterday evening until 2am this morning while we had the US Open golf on :DD.

Same here. The game we set up was slow, but Tim's game is WAY fast, they must just be hammering through the screens without getting into too much depth!

I spend hours just scouting and going through all of my players and deciding whether to keep them.
 
if we were playing for that long at a time im sure we would be on par with you two :)

we have had two 2 hour sessions and a few hours mixed all over the place

Like we keep saying though once the transfer window is closed you fly through the game
 
Yeah I bet you would Coopz, but I want to play more than just 2/3 sessions per week.
 
So do i but we are trying to cater for everyone so we can all play at the same time
