Can't say the Argie defense look particularly impressive on paper... Garay is a disaster waiting to happen with his complete lack of pace and questionable decision making...
 
Demichelis may have same pace issue as Garay, but Demichelis is a smarter defender.

Have you seen how Garay is playing lately? He has been a beast. Questionable decision making? The guy reads the game perfectly.

Well it looks like they recovered well after that own goal...they're looking more offensive than Argentina right now.

EDIT: Oh man, I need to wake up in about 5 hours but this match looks really good so far...might pull an all nighter :D

Edit: Bosnia is playing borderline dirty and the ref seems to allow it.
 
Argentina scheeme is so weird. Where the hell is Maxi Rodríguez is playing? He looks lost on the field.
 
Argentina looks lost tactically. Rojo at wingback is a huge stretch. He's average to bad when he plays at left back. Maxi Rodríguez is playing a CMF role, but goes so many times to the right wing, "fighting" for territory with Zabaleta. Di Maria then has a "free" role, goes all over the place. How can you control the game like that, set a tempo, create that last pass opportunities, force Bosnia to set up on the field, etc. Sabella's inventions! Just because it is a trend, playing the 3 CB's does not mean that putting anyone there will work.

Argentina would have been lucky to have a draw, let alone being on front, like they are.
 
am I the only one who is disappointed with Messi in this 1st half? I mean, he is supposedly one of the best, if not the best player in the world, yet he is nowhere to be seen
 
It seems that Sabella regain is senses and goes for 4-3-3 in the 2nd half. Let's see how Messi will play know with a tactic that makes some sense.
 
That's what makes a brilliant player. In a moment you are having a quite poor match and then you score an amazing goal
 
I would go as far as to say he had a real stinker until the goal.

edit: much funnier match now though... more open and Bosnia seems tired.

Nice to see Bosnia make a name for themselves, sort of.

They've got some quality players and have been unlucky to face Portugal in the play-offs in the past.

Misimovic and Pjanic were excellent. It was really odd to see Bosnia lineup with two playmakers against Argentina's zero, same with Croatia against Brazil. The Eastern bloc is often overlooked but is home to some very talented playmakers.

We just had to win this game, no matter how. Mascherano saw the Bosnian goal coming when the FWs didn't help after they lost the ball...

After this match I really like Spahic. Not that he played a great match, but his attitude during the whole game was cool, he seems like he was enjoying it. Respect for Bosnia-Herzegovina, I hope they can make it through the group zone.
