FIFA World Cup Brasil 2014

After that scrum the game lost the intensity. What a shame. Palacios should've seen a red card. Pogba a yellow was fine.

Palacios. What a disgrace. Stupid penalty to give. Honduras (slight) chance of drawing is out of the window.

Dunno yet. Can see one of the French players losing his cool against Stoke... I mean Honduras. Rough game. But yeah Palacios is a real f-tard.

Hahaha. You can take Pulis out of Stoke, but you will never take Pulis out of the players :)

But the game will be no contest, IMO. Deschamps will take all halftime talking to players to not loose their cool.

erm. Pogba's tackle was a simply payback. straight red
Well, for me was just a slight kick to make him loose balance. But if the red card was showed, I would understand. Palacios stump him; kick him several times, etc. I think good faith should prevail. Pogba reaction wasn't over the line. But maybe is just my Latin way of view things talking.

FINALLY! Goal line technology. Damn, FIFA, was that so hard? We all see, how good it is working.

FIFA will create a riot on the stadium sometime. Brazil-Argentine WC final? Cannot believe what would happend.

It's flawless or not? If it is I should've handle better. Poor ref!

It's weird, I've yet to see a video angle where the whole of the ball crosses the line. But given how the technology works, I figure it has to be right.

Won't make any difference in this match though. I'm all for a bit of physicality, but Honduras are a bunch of thugs out there!

Well, they want to explain, WHEN exactly it crossed the line, really like that. And I think, the system helps the ref a lot, as his watch vibrates, when the ball crosses the line and he can fully rely on that thing. Should make a lot of things easier.

As an ex-ref just posted on Twitter, that was a goal, and it would never have been given without technology.

It IS the way forward, hopefully we can speed up its pace now.

Also, Lampard says f*ck you FIFA for dallying for 4 years ;)

The idea is help the ref. But then the stadium scoreboard removed the goal, and the ref was talkins to someone upstairs. They need to be more professionals there. At naked eye is very difficult to see. With replay only one camera captures what appears to be over the line. Showing the replay on the stadium after the call and then all the confusion with the scoreboard would create problems. That's what I was talking about.

I'm not quite sure, if I understand you correctly. At least in Germany it was all shown in one sequence: First the shot until the post, where it was labelled as "no goal" (correct) and you could hear the stadium go "ooooooh". Then, some seconds later, the animation continued and concluded (correct again) "goal". But as the ref gets the signal only when the ball definitely went over the line I think, he can rely blindly on that system. Audience may need a bit more patience.

Completely different topic: Those stretchers are looking a lot like cheap coffins to me. Surely more practical than the normal ones, but looking weird. :D

We've seen this technology work pretty flawlessly in tennis and cricket. I'm just surprised football was so slow to catch on.

I'd like to think technology is good enough to detect when a ball has crossed a line so if it's given as a goal then that's good enough for me. It will never be debated and we can all move on, as it should be.

Oh yeah, and Honduras really are a horrible bunch of thugs.

Most countries should feel very lucky not to have to deal with Honduras thuggery.. This is just a major injury waiting to happen.

I was watching the BBC broadcast. And that was what they were talking about. Maybe the broadcast team was able to see for themselfs since they are in the stadium. That was caused the commotion. The fans had accepted, than start booing slightly after the replay and then was a massive roar after the scoreboard thing. At least is what the BBC was saying. If true, FIFA needs to be more careful. Imagine that at a WC final? Come on. Help the man with the whistle.

French players tomorrow
