FIFA World Cup Brasil 2014

I wonder if this is because its being held in the land of the beautiful game?
teams are more open etc.. also why did I think it was winter in SA for some reason.. Am I wrong? Or is brazil always warm/hot like florida

It is winter in Brazil yes, but cities like Manaus, Fortaleza and Recife are very close to the equator. It's still warm everywhere, I think it can only get a bit chilly in Porto Alegre in the evenings.

Agree!! Best WC(start of) in at least 24 years so far...

1990 was awful really. Low amount of goals, loads of penalty shoot-outs and ultra catious and defensive football. 1986 was quite good I think and the fondest WC I can remember. This WC, despite some weird refereeing (which is usual WC tbh) looks extremly promising.

It's winter and we have a sunny/partial cloudy 30 degrees day in Rio :SMUG:

Wonderful WC so far...sad that England and Japan lost today but was still thoroughly entertained by the matches today. Costa Rica played exceptionally well!!

As you guys said, best start to the WC I've seen so far in my young 28 years...I hope this 3 goal per game trend can continue (if not more)

Curitiba is the coldest city hosting the WC, Porto Alegre is warm compared to what players will face in the capital of Paraná State. Anyway, football is back home as many say in the ads regarding the tournament, the goals and results speak for themselves =)

Yeh, Sao Paulo and here in Belo Horizonte might get a bit chilly in the evenings too, like 15-20 degrees...

Curitiba and Porto Alegre they might get 10-15 or evan lower eventually. Up in the north/northeast u wont get cold weather but lots of rain, thats their winter.

It really has been awesome so far, so pleased. I thought the last world cup was the worst in recent memory, so few goals and incident (England v Germany aside ;)) It was the tournament of the 'safe' football, this seems to be the tournament of attacking with little emphasis placed on defensive solidity.

And Ecuador v Switzerland has started well.

Not the best match by Switzerland (one of my favourite teams), but they won.
That Rodriguez is one hell of a left back. Perhaps the best i've seen until now (missed a lot of matches too).

Gerd, you have 1100 favourite teams!!

So? He's a football fan (with a huge stress on the word Football). He doesn't have that tribal following most of you have; which is actually refreshing, it's always nice to talk with such an open minded guy.

Felt so bad to have miss this game. :(

There's nothing wrong to follow/like many teams. But that "tribal" aspect is what makes the game great. I can watch a great game between two marvellous sides, but that does not compared to the feeling you get when your team or country is playing an important match. There's a place for both types of fans in the game.

Based on what I've seen so far.. Is France playing that well or is Honduras so shit? This has blowout written all over it.
