FIFA 22 Discussion (Console Versions)

Haha! Your voice is cool, perfect for relaxed football footage. I watched a lot of King of Queens in my late teens during the summer holidays so you have a massive amount of goodwill and positive association in my eyes anyway!

Great to hear the update did no damage. It looked fine in the updated footage.
The updated disc version is 001, exactly like the trial. Only slider set 2 instead of 1 I’m using now. lovely.

Sorry. Couldn’t stand 000 without the sliders. Had dinner. Applied the beta set and will be back at 7:45 pm CET.

The mic somehow didn’t work. Gotta fix that.

mic ain’t working but I’m live with sliders.
That looks beautiful. Man, I wish I could get my hands on a ps5.
Have not bought a football game since fifa 19. Im absolutely craving for a decent game of football

The AI really loves scoring from the near post corner of the six yard box. That needs patching, they’re obsessed with getting there to shoot. It’s weird and obvious.

The GKs do need patching too. I don’t think they’re too good overall but in certain situations it seems silly. You’re better off shooting from 25 yards than attempting to score from a one on one. That’s just wrong.

That Stadia offer does apply to UK customers.

Ive just been checking it out. Downloaded Stadia and it comes up saying buy any £49.99+ game and you get the chromecast and controller.

I was contemplating buying FIFA 22 on it and just using my laptop to connect to the TV to play it.

I tried the Ps4 version and it's not much different to other FIFA's I've played.

Fifa 22 is more of an iteration than previous jumps, but they always impress with their first games on new hardware. Fifa 14 and Fifa 08 blew me away when I bought them on the 'next gen' of the time.

I'm not counting Fifa 21 obviously, seemed pretty obvious that development on that game was cut short.

I really want this game digital on PS5. But I don’t want to pay £70!

Any ideas? CD Keys maybe? I’ve gone all digital so really don’t want to buy this on disk. Hate disks. (Yet I bought the PS5 disk version, which was just silly.)

FIFA 14 on PS4, such good memories for me. Spent 100s of hours in that game.

Those huge flags get on my nerves. I don't think most people wave huge ass flags throughout entire matches.

Or maybe it's been so long since I have seen proper crowds.
No you’re right, they look ridiculous. Sometimes they block the replay of a goal when camera is behind them.

(sorry for 3 posts in a row btw, I find multiquoting difficult when I’m on phone)

And then there is the part where Fifa 2022 cuts to those flags between stuff going on, all. the. time. It's going to get tiring.

I refuted any claim that a Fifa could be better than PES back when 14 was out, on my PES 6 high horse back in the day even though it was 2013 at the time and 7 years after PES 6. I recently however bought it for a quid and can’t get enough of it! Quality game.

I had a situation where I scored a goal and the entire replay was just a flag covering the screen..
I found it quite amusing when commentator said
- Lets look at this again! You dont see it every day!
And all I saw was this big fucking flag..

Ditto.Loving 22.Likewise with 14 and 16 obviously..

Fifa World Cup 2010 on the 360 was the game that converted me to the ways of fifa and opened my insular PES eyes.Spent countless hours mastering manual passing on that just in training.I will never forget just endlessly passing and working the ball, marvelling at the tech and higher production values of the time. Many a good evening with friends huddled up around the tv that summer too hammering two player.

Fifa was irrefutably better than Pes during the PS3/360 generation, although much of that was self inflicted by the awful Pes 2008. They've spent years slowly clawing that reputation back, but now chucked all that progress in the bin. History is repeating itself.

Although it is a bit unfair saying eFootball is awful, therefore default to Fifa 22. There is a pretty good game here, let's hope EA don't ruin it with patches.

You know this already but why would you want to relinquish your right to sell the game again ? If i were you. id pick it up physical, play it all year and sell it down the line if they patch it or if you just get tired of it. At least you get some scrap back to fund your next purchase :)

The only issue i got with Fifa 14 is that it was since FIFA 12 the same, but with a better calibration. I gotted enough of that engine.
As i played the 12 (one i wasn't so much fan) and the 13 especially so much.
But from review, it's the best balanced Fifa with tactical defending no doubt. The issue is i feeled very attired by PES 2014 who was very "new" at that time, just needed a very different feeling even if it was overally a pretty weird (but a bit more balanced on the last patch... Well, Catch up and practically impossible to score from distance, but so much good physics with FOX... Well overally i prefered it than 2015 and 2016 no joke)

This game on series x is bloody mustard.

I had one amazing piece of action against Newcastle at Anfield. Salah on the right lobs a cross in, defender heads it up but not out of the box, Woodman thinks he can claim it and comes out of his goal, Thiago gets to it first and nods it down for Henderson who now has an open goal of sorts…drills it into the ground, Newcastle defenders throw themselves at it, it deflects across goal where Mane is lurking he half volleys it towards goal where Woodman and a defender have scrambled back and woodman uses his shoulder to deflect it for a corner.

absoloutely amazing stuff.

the animations in this game are insane. Yeah I mean it still feels a little skatey in places and of course the player models still have that cartoony feel but it’s plays a lovely game full of variety

I know, you’re right to be fair. I just hope that in the future these games won’t be so expensive at launch because we will all be digital by the PS6.

Not a default option for me.Sold on the trial version and the coralation between this years version and retro PES.Probably the first fifa where I feel working the ball pays the biggest dividends.

The default camera is a big selling point, and I don’t find the animations jarring or the player models.

Player faces and models are insanely good.Especailly via replay/rewind as are there reactions. Some of the replay angles with depth of field almost look real, and highlight how well there done.I’ve never liked them so much.Ball physics are the best they’ve ever been.Big immersion factor along with the animations.

As you say though, variety.Still things I’m discovering and things I just haven’t been able to do in a football game before.I do play manual though so can pass into space and have more freedom in ball placement.Scored some lovely chipped goals from many different angle’s and tradjectories.Getting a lot more free kicks through timing and sucking defenders in outside the box(now that’s very different the free kick system).

I have a PS5, but I bought the Stadia version as well so I could play Career Mode with a friend that I've been playing football games with for years. I use Zerotier to emulate local-play like I normally would for FIFA and it's been smooth sailing for the most part (this is the first time I've ever used Stadia). It's nice that he can enjoy the next-gen gameplay with me despite not owning a console. I need my Career Mode.

I have played the trial for a bit in PS5 and I did enjoy it. Especially 2 player with my brother. The AI is decent enough. There is variety between a crappy team and a good team. Pass stats stand out more so overall a good game if you can ignore the skatey animations. However the big question is if they are going to patch it to FIFA 20.5 in the upcoming months or not. They have a good base. Just improve player switching, makes finesse shots more attribute driven and increase close down speed and it will be even better. But I am afraid the pro players(aka skill move abuser, pace abuser, reflex button masher, 0 football IQ) might force EA to change it back to FIFA 20.5. Let's wait and see.

For fouls slider developers may want to check out acceleration , playing on professional with the player individuality option on. I play on manual with semi passing and have low RF. Didn't get much until I bumped up acceleration to 57 an lowered speed to 45. Suddenly I started getting standing fouls. Ended up with 6 and that wasn't a full game with the settings as I changed mid first half and need to turn off before end . Could be a trigger
