FIFA 22 Discussion (Console Versions)

Me three. The vast, vast majority of AI goals are scored from about 12 yards out after about four or five passes in and around the box have sent me and my defence into a spin.

And a lot of my goals are similar too, on the counter, ending with a square ball past the keeper and a forward tapping it into the open goal.
It's very strange, because I didn't see the same goal again and again and it's the big deal this year. There is something wrong in your sliders mate. Playing on World class, Legendary or Ultimate, CPU variety was there! You play on slow?
This. I see no variety in AI attacking patterns. Just passing around the box until the AI finds a player in the box and bombs the ball into the net. No long shots or crosses. Playing Lower league on Legendary with Matt’s sliders.
When you see that : it could be two différents problems :
1/ FIFA's night bug : everything looks very quick with ping pong passing

2/Sliders problem : step up error passes/shots and decrease speed passes/shots.
Since more than 150 matchs, i didn't see this problem, AI can shoot from everywhere on the pitch and I love that feeling! You can really appreciate only if you're good in defence. There is no secrets.

My trial is working again, was just a case of closing the game and restarting.

Still not enough fouls for me in thus game, definitely needs to be increased to a minimum of 5-6 per game.

Camera options are still rubbish, I don't want the players to look too small. Dynamic cam is the best for this but the zoom options on the camera don't allow you to zoom out enough to see a bit more of the pitch. This is one area PES always got right.

I really hope they let us turn off the pitch wear in career mode soon. I'm finding it really immersion breaking playing in the top leagues on an awful pitch.

EA frustrate me so much, such an easy thing to implement!

You can change the pitch wear setting yourself by doing a quick game from the main menu (or whatever that menu option is to just start a game against your preselected rival, in the game settings there you can adjust the pitch wear, I set it to high as I like the variation in lower leagues. Change that to what you want, then back all the way out to the main menu and it should have saved the setting and it will carry through when you load your CM.

Cheers mate, that's what I've tried and it doesn't work for me. But I'm 100% with you, it's a great feature for playing in the lower leagues!

they look different... for sure. how does it play in comparison? how does it feel without hypermotion?
Everything feels freer, net physics are outstanding. The whole gameplay experience feels so much better than PS4 version.
I have not even adjusted sliders yet. Hyper motion is wonderful mate. Player I’d everywhere, defending is more organised and manageable.
I truly organic football experience. Absolutely brilliant mate.
Well worth getting the next gen version.

PS4 version just feels like a level up from 21. Solid game but it does not feel as free or random like next gen version.

Really enjoying the game at the moment with @Anth James sliders. Love that we have some fouls as well, I'm kinda pissed off at the idea they might take them away in the next update(s). It's exactly like @Keith Houchen said, some games you have none and some other you collect 3-4 or even 5. It's not perfect but it does give back a nice feel. Really liked this two episodes for example (around 23 and 38 seconds):

This isn't much of an impression.

But playing FIFA on PC, it kind of feels like a well patched FIFA 21..
But there is no comparison, the NG is absolute head and shoulders above last gen.

And you know me, so this hurts to say - The game is so much better on NG consoles than PC - Graphically and gameplay wise.

You put this so much better than me lol.
If anything needs improving, I’d say they need to make the keepers that little bit more consistent. Just a tad better.
best fifa ever

Unfortunately the FIFA that I played before the release no longer exists, the cadence is gone, much of the Hypermotion is gone, nowadays the gameplay is fast and fast like the 21 Congratulations online community, here is the FIFA that you asked because you can not adapt 👍🏻

He is the strongest YouTuber in Brazil (3 million subscribers on YouTube)

I think that's complete paranoia. I don't see anything wrong with the speed and animations of my current Stadia version compared to all of the previous ones.

Edit: Thanks for the info and for translating it!

Has anyone noticed the crowd whistling since the update? It's infuriating on a stupid loop and can start over and over between passes.

Agreed.Total nonsense.

I totally agree with him - and I'm amazed there's a YouTuber who speaks for us, even if there is a bit of disagreement on this point.

Bear in mind this YouTuber will be an online player, while we're sat here playing on "slow" speed and/or using sliders.

When I (occasionally) play online, I have seen a noticeable shift away from Hypermotion - @Emroth can back this up. I said to him last weekend that I feel more and more of Hypermotion is being disabled all the time. See this WhatsApp screenshot:

I have clips I saved from the first week or so, and when you compare them to clips since the patch-before-last (or the most recent one):

A) The clock ticks faster (which, if half lengths are the same, indicates a core gameplay speed change);

B) There are many more "fast-forward glitches" (where simple movement animations are played at 10x the speed they should be, in order for the user to feel maximum responsiveness);

C) In terms of defending, winning the ball required little physical interaction - I could just walk towards the attacking player, and they (even though human-controlled) would let you run in-between themselves and the ball, letting you walk off with it with no need to "jockey" them or tackle.

The clip in the above screenshot is from a game I played with @papinho81. In this instance we were using world class players, but the same issues were present when using 3* teams.

(Apologies for the mobile quality - turn the sound on for my angry, slightly scouse thoughts. :D)

P.S. - this is on "slow" and manual (you can set the speed and control settings when playing friends online)...

I have to back him up. Online did not feel like back at release.

The weird thing is - up until last patch - offline didnt feel right either.
But all the good things are back now in offline post last patch.

Which makes me wonder - are they really starting to separate Competitive Gameplay with offline?
Even if its not official yet - it would be amazing if they were tweaking the gameplay separately for both, hiding one set under Competitive Mode.

I have to admit, I agree with him (and I'm really glad there's a voice out there that speaks for us, even if there is a little disagreement on this point).

Now I understand what you were doing the first 15mins of this one :D

I spent the next 15 mins messaging you saying "I swear it was better a week ago, ask @Emroth"... :D

They were fun games, but clearly so much glitchier for the sake of responsiveness, and with absolutely no noticeable difference between 3* and 5* teams. It just wasn't like that before (or at least, nowhere near as bad).

So I had to record it as quickly as I could... The only way to get EA to investigate anything is with hard evidence!

Even trapping the ball - 100mph hits are being first-touched like they're gentle lobbed passes. It wasn't like that before.

(Online, I mean.)

So this is online talk, alright.

when i read your video title all my alarm bells are ringing. i was totally in peace for a couple of days thanks to Dr. Community, thinking it’s me getting tired, so the games feel faster at nights. So it also could be stringing games…? Like when you play match after match after match…?
you guys make my head explode! but it’s all online talk, right?

All I will say to that is, look at the video, look at the running speeds of the France players (let alone the animation speeds) and tell me that looks normal to you. Oh and by the way - that's on SLOW.

The whole reason I sent the video to @Emroth was to ask him, "am I going mad or did our games have nothing as bad as this"... and they didn't, but now it happens fairly regularly.

It's not completely ruined - but it's worse, and that makes me so sad.

Now I've had a taste of Hypermotion, I don't even want to say "just speed it up for the online guys". Screw that - turns out I'd love to play online... ***IF*** they stopped speeding it up.

I absolutely agree about that.

For now, it is the D line retreating/following deep the strikers runs that is doing my head.
I haven't tried much sliders because I want first to give a proper chance to default, but I hardly enjoy my offline sessions.
The only modes were I get fun are 1) Player career mode, well because 1vs1 makes a bit more sense in that mode.
2) Online seasons since the last patch, but this really depends on the spirit of my opponent.

More and more I think that this FIFA is a good/ok footy game for what it is. But, it is certainly not a footy simulation. More a thing on its own that integrate few sim elements with an online/user vs. user vision at the core of its design.

Intriguing to say the least. So is this an online thing only then? I must say I haven't played a single online match so far so I can't judge it really.

I honestly haven't felt anything like that (besides the already known twitchiness and skatey animations) playing offline, without sliders and with normal speed.
