FIFA 17 News & Discussion Thread

EA isn't interested in that and I doubt that will ever happen. They have found their happy spot: an arcade-style game designed for young online gamers that rakes in hundreds of millions.

Well if thats the case then it should stop pretending to be the official football game of Sky Sports, because having that stellar presentation doesn't fit with the unrealistic gameplay whatsover. Its licensed to the hilt and looks like it does on the TV. But its all out of place, because on the pitch it plays like table tennis.

Ultimate Farce has effecively destroyed FIFA and as long as thats still around it will never ever change its spots. It appeals to kids and over the top youtube teenagers that like to exploit and do "skillz" who prefer style over over substance.

One person I know refuses to bother with PES because they cant do the skill moves as easily as on FIFA.

Not my game. And which is why sliders are crucial. I lower player speed, accel and pass accuracy, and tighten team positioning with the line sliders, after which it plays like a football simulation.

Following on with the idea of EA allowing custom sliders in MP matches..

If you could name your game as host it would be even better. If you named your game with the most thoughtful and popular slider settings, like Matt's or Placebo's or Orion's it would attract plenty of players.

EA could even perhaps give people the ability to 'like' different custom slider settings, after playing a game.

There's no incentive for me personally to suggest it to EA, as I don't play online.

Can you post your settings please Angus I would be interested in trying them out when my copy of the game arrives next week.

I see, okay, so similar to what I did in FIFA 11, before sliders were around.
This comment puzzled me, don't you switch d-pad tactics and formations, while the game is going on, depending on the tactical situation? Me, I also pause the game and switch line slider setup, for the same purpose. In fact, line sliders are the most effective way to instantly change how your team plays and position themselves.

So, the game is going to released on 27th this month in which countries? Doest it mean if we going to use the VPN, we might change the country and get the game from ORIGIN on that day then, for example?

Yeah looks like Asia is first, Signapore, Korea and such if you use a VPN you'll see the adjusted release date in Origin.

They really need to change the ball sounds (shots, and passes) in FIFA. It's had the same phony sounding contact for ages. Maybe it's just me, but it's never sounded realistic. I left my FIFA launcher on the other night while I was asleep so it sucked up the last remaining hours of the trial! I've been itching to play all weekend.

What I have noticed while playing DEMO is that the sound of kicked ball is changed this year and it sounds more realistic than before. Additionally, the sound is ON only when it's kicked quite hard.

I don't think EA would ever go for this, because it could end up with people wanting to play the 'proper' online modes with their preferred sliders instead of EA's default. EA currently has a large majority which likes playing with the default gameplay online - that's a gold mine and it's mad to risk losing that to please a few people.

Just playing around with a VPN and the earliest I can find is Taiwan/Korea:

So that's:

Yea, noticed that too. Always disliked the sound of the ball in previous FIFA games. Sounded like someone kicking a used nappy. Much better this year.

So, regarding sliders, this is what I was messing around with earlier. Just threw some things together, wanting to see some different things. It's promising, but bursting (sprinting through the entire CPU defense) is exploitable.

Wow. I thought that I was watching a real football match then!

I really need to learn how to play with Broadcast camera.

Really loving the game, so many little wonderful moments, love the announcer announcing man of the match over the loudspeaker towards the end! Love the commentators saying I'm time wasting if I'm slow on a corner/set piece when winning!

Less than one hour left on the trial, will burn through that tomorrow then hope the Korea unlock works at 5pm!
