FIFA 16 News & Discussion Thread

Re: FIFA 16 News & Discussion Thread

after seeing the gamescom video's, I won't play fifa until they hire a new player models team... ok.. ill give the demo a go due to curiosity, but those player models ugh...

I can see Rutter losing sleep over this..Last years player models were on steroids now you complain they are too thin...:CONFUSE:

Re: FIFA 16 News & Discussion Thread

lol some people just like moaning.

Re: FIFA 16 News & Discussion Thread

is there any video with the new celebrations with the sideline substitute ?

Hmmm yeah.
I gotta say I don´t find the vids that bad.

Yeah the models could be better, but as they were awful last year, I´d be happy when they are improved slightly.

Still have fun playing FIFA 15, so it´s most likely that I´ll have fun with FIFA 16 too.
Specially when defending and pace are improved.

I also like what they said about the CM features.

I´m quite optimistic about the game.

Not sure about the steroids comment but looking back at last years models all the players had quite muscular shoulders. The player models have improved this year to the point that this muscular shoulder looks to be removed.

My problem with previous versions had nothing to do with the muscular shoulders but the overly long limbs (both legs and arms). Just checked some fifa 15 images via google a moment ago to verify, and yes its certainly there.
So, when I say players look too thin this year, what I actually meant was that players still look like they have overly long limbs this year. This is particularly noticeable during the gameplay vids... the players may vary in height, but their builds are all the same horrible physics (legs and arms too long making all players look tall and slender). What I find interesting though, is that the kit selection models as well as the introduction/anthem models look great. Not moaning - just an observation, and a thing that Fifa really need to work on.

Re: FIFA 16 News & Discussion Thread

Big gap between the PES demo (this Thursday) and the FIFA demo then, that's a bit naff! I'd have expected EA to see that announcement and rush it out a little earlier.

Saying that, I wonder if the strategy is "let them play the PES demo to death and by the time ours comes out, they'll have noticed all the niggles in PES and they'll be sick of it, waiting for the FIFA demo like a breath of fresh air".

Saying that, I don't think they're that clever...

Re: FIFA 16 News & Discussion Thread

EA just don't care about what Konami do, to be honest, and they don't have to.

Re: FIFA 16 News & Discussion Thread

After watching these videos, I am 50-50 on Fifa 16. I think I am demanding too much though.

With Fifa 15, physical stats was king. Acceleration, Sprint Speed, Agility, Balance. These 4 stats helped me win career mode on Legendary. It felt hollow as it involved just running and turning with the players that possessed 90+ in these stats. They could of had finishing 60, passing 55, etc It didn't matter.

So my team consisted of Allesandrini, Musa (upfront)

Bernard Behind.

The two CM were actual wingers....Iturbe and Silva.

And my defence was fast players.

I came on here raving how reducing Acceleration and brought in the midfield. Which it did and it was a definite improvement. But again, these players shouldn't of won the league. The problem is the mental attributes are not evident enough to make a difference. Attributes like Vision, Interceptions etc. I shouldn't be able to win the league with two CM who are 5'3 , 150lbs and normally player wingers. There stats for tackling and passing and interceptions, even vision, are not great, especially the tackling.

What I am trying to emphasise is I hope Fifa 16 brings the need to have players who can offer other qualities. I want to be ABLE to have a DM otherwise the computer would destroy me or I want to be able to have a striker who's finishing is much greater than a wingers and not to be outperformed by one.

I really hope this occurs in Fifa 16 then it will be a dream game.

I don't think they're that smart.

Which you obviously already said.

Re: FIFA 16 News & Discussion Thread

I'm sure there are new animations, but I don't see any in the videos. You can see all the new ones in PES2016, probably cos there were so few in PES2015

Re: FIFA 16 News & Discussion Thread

I did play both FIFA and PES, although it was only 4 / 3 games respectively. Still it was great fun! :)

However, I haven't had the time to write something longer - I can answer some questions if anyone wants to ask. Especially here in the FIFA thread, because there are less videos and the demo doesn't come out in 2 days... :D

Is that crappy Anti-Aliasing from FIFA 15 fixed in FIFA 16?

Re: FIFA 16 News & Discussion Thread

was really the crossing bit overpowered too accurate in the gamescom code?(Fifa ofcourse:) )
I didn't think it was overpowered - that is with me and my mate playing against each other. We both defend quite well, so if your position is right I don't think it's a problem. We'll see when we play more.

I've never played FIFA on Xbox One before, so I don't know how it is in FIFA 15 there.
Nothing from the graphical side was bothering me and I was more focused on the gameplay elements.
Sorry, can't really give a definitive answer on this.

Re: FIFA 16 News & Discussion Thread

What aspect of gameplay that like from fifa 16 that you did ot find in 2015. And what stays the same in terms of gameplay ?
I'm not sure if I understand you correctly, please ask again if I didn't answer your question.

The most noticeable difference in gameplay is the weight that the players now have - it's something you notice straight from kick off.
The sprinting is very much toned down.
The dribbling and on the ball actions are one of my favourite new aspects - this no touch dribbling is not just a gimmick, believe me! I believe it will be very useful when playing human opponents. Matic was my favourite player from the GC demo, felt like a proper DM and his movements were very realistic (slow and powerful!).
Speaking of midfield, it feels a lot more organised and balanced, hopefully they don't screw it up in the final game.
Crossing is improved too, players seem to cross in space.
Defending mechanics are better, you can now cope with fast players!

I felt the shooting isn't that different, but it was already really good in 15.

Re: FIFA 16 News & Discussion Thread

which game is better in your opinion ? Fifa or PES?
It's very close I think, but I have to say FIFA is a bit better imo - it was a bit more balanced as a whole. I hope I'm not gonna be proven wrong once it's out, but I must say I feel it's really good in every single aspect - something I haven't felt with previous football games.

But I must say PES is really good too, it was way more enjoyable than PES 2015, you can see they've worked really hard. Let's hope the game is deep so that it's interesting to play even after many hours! :)

I think it's the first year I've enjoyed playing both games very much!

Since players look like they have weight from the videos along with their movement, did you feel skating was gone and more foot planting was present?
