Any rumours of launch day prices in any shops yet? I intend to walk in to a shop to buy it tomorrow, if my Asda backup falls through tonight.

I'm considering getting this - haven't bought Fifa since 2001 but fancy a change from PES.

The main thing that's putting me off is the amount of space players appear to have. Any player receiving the ball seems to have acres of space with no opposing player anywhere near to close them down. I tried setting the marking slider to 100% but it didn't make any noticeable difference. I'd like to see tighter marking especially by defenders on forwards

I only have the demo on PC and I play on the Pro level but I tried Legendary to see if it would make any difference

Am I missing something?

How weird. Im cant get into Fifa as much as PES as I can never find any space on the pitch!
 
I'm going to try the demo on Xbox now. Hope I enjoy it as I think I might buy FIFA just to play a few online games now and then, maybe even start an Ultimate Team.

Yep - I agree that it's odd.

The pitch in PES feels much bigger compared to Fifa but in PES I seem to get closed down a lot quicker by the AI especially in the final third of the pitch
 
Admittingly I haven't played that many games yet, but thus far it seems like most of the CPU AI teams play long-ball counter attacks... in a way too predictable fashion too... perhaps it's just the teams that I've faced thus far. hopefully this is not the case for the other teams..
 
Really need a speed tweaker! PES 2013 with edited gameplay (OF) is simply brilliant. Not bringing the FIFA v PES here but...

While some things are good, nothing about PES 2013 is simply brilliant. I find the game speed of my PS3 retail version to be on par with PES 2013 on 0 game speed. Adjusting sliders such as sprint speed, acceleration, marking and adjustments all help to lower the game speed even more.
 
Just played on Xbox and pleasantly surprised! Played perfectly fine, think I will definitely pick this up for playing online Ultimate Team, ranked matches, and some manual friendlies if people are up for it.

@iminurbase Are there any plans to slow 13 down? Not sure i can do another year of charge fest defending. Esp as shielding doesn't work

Also credit the Fifasoccerblog guys for pointing out all the problems (including speed) I think they could sway it as much as anyone.

Speed patch along with the clubs filter patch and we have a winner this year.
 
I honestly could not be disappointed with the speed of the game. I don't understand how, or why, EA would have three different speed modes and yet the slowest mode still feels like a game of table tennis. Some games there isn't even a point in setting up for a pass, or in defence, because the game has moved on so fast.

I'm a big Career Mode fan and I'm sure what EA have added/refined in Career Mode is fantastic aesthetically but at this point in time I am getting absolutely no pleasure from playing in, what I can only describe as, fast forward. Devastated really.
 
Alright, am 20 games in so feel like I've got a good handle on what the experience is. Am playing in Career mode, in the prem, as United. Overall this is an excellent game, significantly better than 12. But, a few things feel wrong, I'm hoping people might have ideas for how sliders could help. It's frustrating, cause it's soooo close to being awesome, but not quite:

1. Tackling is just too easy. If any player (even strikers!) get close enough to any other player the ball comes loose. Maybe we could do some kind of editing to take down an ability? There's no slider I can think of that would help.

2. I've yet to score from a cross. In 20+ matches (full manual). I can barely even remember a time one of my strikers (Roon and RVP - hardly crap) even got a head to a cross. The defending on crosses is AMAZING compared to defending in other situations (balls to feet in the box, through balls, high offside line)

Other than those 2 fairly major things (particularly 1) I think the game is brilliant. There's not a HUGE difference in playing different teams, but it's noticeable. Just played Stoke away and it was the most miserable football video game experience ever. I couldn't hold the ball for more than 2 seconds before one of their louts jostled/fouled me. Then played Wigan and waltzed through their midfield with glee.

I went to a midnight opening for Fifa 10. I had already pre-ordered the game online myself (it hadn't arrived) but I coaxed my friend into buying the game so we could play a few games that night.

I've no idea why they do have midnight openings across the land though. There weren't enough people to warrant it when I went along and surely they have to pay staff extra to keep the place open.

I noticed that there's a midnight opening at my local GAME tonight. It's in a shopping centre so that means paying some security staff extra money too; odd really, and I don't live in that big a town.
 
Got the EA Season Ticket and downloading FIFA 13 now :)). If anyone fancies a game add me on Xbox Live, other than that I'll be working on my UT I think.
 
Did anyone go ahead and order from cddiski? If so, how long did it take to receive the key? I just placed an order and i'm wondering how long it'll take.
