FIFA 13

It's a loading screen. It's not that you're forced to watch it because they want you to look at their glorious graphics. It's loading...

Remember when it used to be a camera panning around the stadium while it happened?

Romily Broad replied to a tweet of Placebo's years ago and said "what do you suggest we do while the game is loading data for the substitute", and now instead of the same unskippable stadium panning cut-scene, we have the unskippable player cut-scene.

Maybe a highlight of a good thing that player did would be better....but I know that would be hard to do for every player.

I know why they do it, but it is annoying.

Sorry if this has been explained already but how do you get the dummy runs on free kicks to work?

I'm pressing what is on the screen, L2 + shoot and then X but they always shoot. I assumed you're supposed to be basically doing a fake shot shoot + pass combination but for some reason I've never got it to work.

Is there a trick I'm missing, or a certain time you press the button?

I've been well up for buying this game when it come out as I've loved the demo on professional level, everything felt balanced, nicely paced, the AI plays some intelligent football....then I tried it on World Class. Oh dear. All the good work seems to go out of the window. If its like this in the final version then I'll give this game a miss this year.

The reason is that when I switch to World Class, rather than the AI feeling more intelligent like it should, if feels more difficult but actually dummed down. There's no sense of AI build up play whatsoever, it's programmed to attack constantly. You can visibly see the CPU players moving far faster than on pro, they now twist and turn all over the place and just rush forwards all the time. World Class seems to increase the pace of the game considerably and the CPU plays like it's on crack. It plays rush football, reacts faster, runs faster and is able to win physical challenges. That's all it does. From being an awesome game it's suddenly turned into some end to end counter attack-fest with the CPU playing like its a goal down in injury time for the entire match.

Is it like this in the full version? Can't be arsed if it is.

Can always play on proff and edit sliders to improve the cpu ie.e. increase shot accuracy and pass accuracy..maybe even reduce yours

Played a lot more demo matches, a large percentage of my goals are still coming from cut backs in the box and rebounds from keepers,

wouldnt you all say that is the same in real life also though?!? + through balls+set pieces.

Im not sure but i think those 4 aspects are how most goals are scored IRL and maybe crosses then scrambles in box,,then long rnage drives

Which he can't answer truly, if the answer is the latter, or he'll get banned. Isn't that entrapment or something? :)

I just want to make sure everyone's talking about the same version(s) when it comes to the speed 'issue'. Things like that only add up to potential confusions we're seeing now. Wouldn't be the first time those warez fucks released an old build, I remember it happen to PES in the past.

(You're right, though, I would also ban his lousy ass :SMUG:)

You need to press x while the power bar is charging up, so if it's circle/O to shoot, you need to press x as you're holding that button too.

Try the free kick skill challenges (that's if you have the full game). Really helpful.

Edit: Maybe you are already. I got stuck on it too but figured it out.

Check my video. AEK-Olympiacos fifa13 on slow speed, retail dvd disk not the early access. CPU is playing, default sliders, i am recording with iphone 4s. TV is Panasonic Plasma 3D 55VT50. Sorry for the quality

YouTube - Fifa 13

Please EA update the game!!!!!

What difficult level are you playing? I found out that playing Career on high difficult levels is totally unplayable because the CPU speed-up is absurd! They turn too fast, pass too fast, react too fast to every situation... I was playing with Villareal and got a game against Barcelona B and wow! they play like the real Barça, 90% of pass accuracy, 60% of possession (because they simply don´t loose the ball or miss passes)

Only enjoying the game online so far... :(

Scored a wonderful goal earlier, Tiote first time curling lobbed volley from outside the box, sometimes you press shoot and have no idea why and then you see the results and it's a serious wow moment, would have sat watching replays for ages if I didn't have to go to Swedish class! Will upload it later :)

I've heard from several people who have the final game (on disk) that the gameplay is considerably slower. Early access game probably older code...

Can't imagine why - early access is...early access to the retail version.

If that were true that'd mean that EA sold, at a very steep price, a product that they essentially lied about what it is. That's one hell of a conspiracy theory.

That said, I'd love it if it were true cause right now I'm not all that excited about buying the full version, even though I know that I will 'cause it's a very long year till FIFA 14.

Been playing the game on Xbox 360 since saturday and the game definately feels faster from the demo. But it depends on what teams you are playing with, as some people have mentioned already.

I'm just looking forward to Thursday, so I can get it on PC and play it on my 24" monitor, instead of my 37" SONY LED TV :)

Playing the game on a smaller screen makes the game feel slower.
I think it was Simon Humber tweeting about that last year or the year before that, that he played it on a smaller screen.

For me it makes sense - The ball has to travel a longer distance on a bigger screen, than on a small one :)That was his explanation, kind of..

But I'm also looking forward to not having the sluggish menus and the horrible slowdown on replays/intros :) It's gonna be lovely! And all the mods and LOD-configurator.. Oh boy - Sexy time :)

I know, if it wouldn't be such a pain I'd really wish that everyone were forced to begin each post with which version they're playing, on what difficulty level, gamespeed, and control settings, not to mention whether they're using default slider settings or not, because this game can play drastically different depending upon which settings you choose.

I've also found that I much prefer FIFA when playing with teams that are 4 stars or less - at that level and lower, players move at a speed that for me makes the pace of the game far more enjoyable.

Maybe I'm just getting old but when playing with top teams, even on slow gamespeed, I find that the game can outpace what I can do with the controls, at least in those tight situations and in the final third when it really matters. Don't get me wrong, I still manage okay, but I struggle to do anything fancy.

On the other hand, no other game makes me think I'm getting too old like FIFA does.

Hmm, I was almost positive it works the other way around. I know that between my two TVs, I prefer to play on my 42" LCD over my 32" LCD.

You're the first person I've ever heard say they prefer to play, any game, on a smaller screen.

Polakis, 2 questions for you.

1. What difficulty level is that?

3. What are your camera settings?
