Also what about a 4-2-4.

I havent seen it in formatins so not sure if u can make it custom?

2 central mids...2 wingers+ 2 strikers

I don't name after myself as I really enjoying having my VP involved and it feels a little weird having duplicated myself... As I'm usually managing tiny clubs I quite like to name the manager after a legendary ex player and imagine he's got his first break in management (Pires, Bergkamp etc etc)

Hmm I should have done that! Chris Waddle, terrible manager, awesome player, bitter commentator!

I don't name my VP after myself either, that'd feel weird to me as well, I pick a young prospect from our academy and recreate him :)

In my CM my manager persona is Martin Laursen :WORSHIP:

:WORSHIP: Indeed! Back in the day Aston Villa were my 'second team' because of how completely awesome Laursen and Mellberg were, I mean I used to play as a defender in school teams and such and so always really liked badass defenders and these two were the epitome of class.

Didn't Mellberg buy all the away fans shirts on his final game?

He did:

Just a shame that, with Laursen's injuries, Mellberg's frequent redeployment at RB and finally his contract expiring, the two played so few matches as a central partnership.

Personally I can't play without a holding mid. 3-4-3 has been excellent for me. You could try a 4-3-1-2 with no wingers?

I've been playing a 4-4-2 but very attacking. I realised this was giving far too much space between my back line and the midfield, so just moving Flamini's position to a deeper one has made all the difference. He's now on hand to clean up any loose balls and my results have got noticeably better. Cleverly, now ahead of him as an attacking midfielder, seems to get forward more than he did when Flamini or Tiote were alongside him.

I always have the manager name as me :DD

Also my VP has my name and looks pretty much spot on to me with the Face picture thing.

I just pretend that I have a son with exactly the same name as me (I'm one of those egotistical fathers that names there kid after themselves) and that the media questioned why I have my son in the team, but my son quickly shut up any doubters by being one of the best young prospects on the team and now leading goalscorer :DD

Anyway, if I wanted to start a CM with a different team can I put my VP in that team? if so does it effect my overall stats for my VP in the game overall if I move him from Arsenal? (the ones that I have been building up througout playing Fifa)

You just need to edit your VP & assign him to your new team before you start the new CM (I did it recently with mine).
Your stats carry over - my VP started his/my new CM (Christ that's confusing!) after switching from Charlton to United at OVR79, so I'm sure yours will as well :)

Cool, Cheers.

How unrealistic are the transfers made? I've just switched from pes and started a CM enjoying it very much. But this kinda worries me

So more of a diamond midfield than a flat one?

Ive found making an attacking midfielder makes a big differnce...just behind the front 2. hes really getting in great areas. Scored a few goals each game.

As for the back 3 this seems more than adequate compared to back 4...The wide Centre backs cover then wings when necessary and with the defensive midfilers there is still plenty cover in the middle.

I really dont see the point in a back 4 anymore...A back 3 plus def Mid is great.

however, I may try a diamond formation with a back 4 to see what thats like?

So far my last few games I tried.

I might try it again? Quite offensive though.

This game on World Class is starting to piss me off a little bit now. One minute I'll win two games in a row, the next, the CPU will come out like it's on crack and all players will twist and turn on the ball like they're Messi, the ball gets 'sucked' towards them in the air, and every shot it takes seems perfect. I follow up a good 2-0 away win at Villa by being trounced 6-0 at Everton, then lose 1-2 at home to Wolves.

I just don't know why I can't master the game. I'll win several games in a row then the CPU goes all 'super powered' and kicks the shit out of me. Been playing this regularly since release day in October and I still can't master it. My CM frequently sees me bogged down in mid-table every season and then getting knocked out of the cups. I'm through to the FA Cup semis but I know I can't win it, at some point the CPU will come out and go all super powered and thrash me. On professional, the CPU reserved this for when you played the really top teams, on World Class it seems to do it regularly. Not sure I can be bothered, I had enough of that bullshit in PES this year.

Maybe u lack concentration? I notice sometimes play afew games I start to slack and let in sloppy goals and dont make chances but when a big cup game comes around Im all exicted and hyped up then end up winning easy.

A bit like real life eh lol

Hmm not seeing that personally on legendary with my sliders, the easy teams are easy, the hard teams are hard (in League1 so playing teams like Sheff Utd, Huddersfield, Charlton etc are a stiff test).

Form makes a staggering amount of difference on legendary, never noticed it as much before on Pro, I went unbeaten for about the first 27 matches of the season, funny thing was I wasn't playing that well, I was getting 1-0 wins, couple of 2-0, maybe 2-1, few draws, slowly but surely the form of the whole squad was being dragged down into the red and then sure enough I lost a couple of matches in a row and the team were playing awful, couldn't buy a goal, player movement was almost non existent, passing and shooting was terrible, everything was just off.
Then the January window came around, I signed 3 or 4 new players, played Liverpool away in the FA Cup, managed to beat them and the whole team played really well including the new guys who I threw in as I thought I would get battered anyway! From then on form really started picking up, got some good wins in the league again, beat Everton away in the FA Cup, beat Fulham home in the FA Cup and now I'm in the Qtr Finals against Chelsea (going to get battered but still it's good for a L1 team to get there).

After finishing my 4th season at Charlton, I started a new CM with Man Utd, moving up to World Class in the process (not quite brave enough for full manual yet though!)
I didn't want to bring in many players, as I want to stretch the squad. I'm trying to avoid superstars, opting for young players - a bit like IRL.
I've also only replaced players that have been sold. Darren Fletcher has gone to Spurs, and Park, Owen & Kuszczak have also been shown the door.
Marseille were desperate to get Carrick (even offering £22m for an £9m rated player), but were told no thank you.
About 10 players are out on season loans, along with a couple of youngsters on short loans that I sent out.
I'm giving everyone 1 season, and maybe have a rebuild in the summer.

The signings I did make were:
Me. Well, my VP anyway!
J.Rhodes (£3.7m) - wanted him before his price goes up.
A.Buttner (£1.2m) - if he works at a top club he'll be a cheaper option to maybe replace Giggs :)
Ogude (loan to buy/£5.3m)) - curious to see what the hype is about! Also needed a replacement for Fletcher.
M.Leitner (loan to buy/£7m) - another Dortmund prospect, looks very promising so far. Replaced Park.
M.Jesic (£250k) - did very well on previous CM, so want to see if he (& Buttner) can make the step up. Replaced Owen.
A.Smithies (£1.5m, loaned out) - Huddersfield GK, replacing Kuszczak.

8 games in so far, and my defence is already being stretched!
1st game of the season, Vidic knackers his ACL and is out for 4 months (spooky coincidence to real life!). Rio got a 3 match ban for being slow against Norwich, and Smalling has just picked up a 3 month injury with a broken collarbone. I now only have 2 recognised CBs for the next game. It's brilliant!
I have a couple of youngsters due to come back from short loans, so shuffling players around to see if it works in the meantime :)

Buttner is immense since the squad update! Shame he lost his real photo, or am I imagining he had a real photo before the update? Scored a fantastic freekick with him last night from about 30 yards :)

Coming to CM moode after getting really sick of UT. Started as Shrewsbury to have a few players with potential.

Finding it really had after the arcadiness of UT.

Just signed Slew on loan. Any recommendations for lower league signings that can grow? Or do I plow my cash into scouts?

I've got about 800k in funds but the windows has just closed, so I have a while until the winter window opens.

Really need a CM as the middle of the park is quite weak

Best bet is a loan from a Championship or Prem team, there are usually plenty of young squad players who don't get first team action, even if they're not listed for loan there's a chance you can sign them on loan anyways, if everyone knocks you back try again with loan to buy. Alternatively there's the free transfer pool, usually a couple of gems in there :)

I've touted him a few times - Pedj Bojic is worth a look (mainly a CB, but can cover CM/DM). Danny O'Rourke is another option, but might be a bit pricey

If you can get them on loan, John Bostock (Spurs, though Wednesday might have him on loan) & Matthew James (Man Utd) aren't bad either. They helped my side get out of L1 anyway :)

Form does have a massive influence but I'm starting to wonder whether it's pretty random. I have no idea why some of my players who consistently do pretty well and play week-in-week-out have crazily low form though. But I just can't get a winning run together, like I say I'll win a couple of matches then suddenly and randomly get smacked by the CPU that does everything at 100mph. I can tell if the CPU is going to be like this within the first 20 seconds of kick off.

This will sound like a poor excuse but maybe it's down to the camera angle I use, the old school broadcast TV angle. I never hear of anyone else using it, which must be for a reason. I might go back to Tele and see if that helps things, I found that it did in WC2010 so maybe that's a major problem.

My sliders to have made my CM abit too easy. I've played 10 and won 9 drawn 1 and conceded 1 goal. I play on legendary, so the games are quite tight i.e 1-0 2-1. But, the AI just seem to be unable to penetrate my defence. Is 55 shot error too high?
