Only played a couple of games but impressions so far:


Smooth as a baby's arse.

360 is very obvious to me.

Tried rounding the goalie in the arena and after bout 10 mins constant trying I did it twice in a row.

Still possible to dink the ball over the advancing goalie but not as easy to do.

Saw AI doing a skill move.

Love the new view for taking corners.

Manual controls seem very sensitive (more manual than 09).

Shooting is far more powerful (Lampard in the arena).

Can score low hard shots.

AI scored a lovely goal against me. They crossed a ball from deep, my defence moved out to catch their forwards offside. AI had a runner from midfeild who broke the offside trap and slid in to finish past my keeper.

AI tried chipping my goalie on a couple of occasions.

Saw a headed goal at backpost which looked very realistic.

When your player gets knocked/muscled off the ball you are instantly in control of him again and can try to get the ball back, rather than the stumbling animation kicking in on 09 and taking ages to get control of him again.

Big defenders still mark the posts on corners

Ive been able to slide in front of an attacker before he shoots to block his attempt rather than the slide tackle automatically aiming for the attacker and taking him out.

Replay framerate is till god awful.

It's like people have been saying, you see so much more the more you play.

When you get the demo, pass to Lampard, and hit one from wherever you like. Watch that ball fly. :)

Doesn't work with all the players, only the ones who have over a certain shot power stat.

This is a bit of a worry, I hope there's no slowdown in the retail version. It's not affecting the gameplay so far for me but either way slowdown is unacceptable in this day and age.

No...? Are you saying this from watching videos or playing the demo? I haven't had a problem like this so far!

It's a bug video he found on another forum, the free-kick crashed the game.

I just know it will spoil 09 for me...;)

Wasn't really a power drive though, it rises just a bit.

I've hit ones with Lampard along the floor, with a lot more power than that - that's what Nick wants to see. I hope you can upload videos soon, come on EA, get your servers switched on!

This is quality. Loads of times I've slid in front of players and blocked their shot or run as opposed to the 09 style of homing in on the player.

Much better now and slide tackles are a lot more useful now where in 09 they were asking for a card more often than not.

Playing it myself. I conceded about 4 lobbed goals in about 10 games. I don't know if it was just bad luck or something i was doing wrong or what. It hasn't happened for a while now though.

yep everytime there's a 1on1,its doing my head in. It better be fixed or its going to ruin MM mode.

Its because the keeper comes out so far before you even press the button:CURSE:

That's by far the best I've seen so far but I'm still wanting a Ronaldo or Gerrard type screamer into the top bag or the bottom corner.
They are fairly common place in all divisions now given the new ball technology, granted most of them go wide or fly over but it's that zip and pace I'm yet to see...

In the Arena does not count for jack, you can't get the same power on the pitch...

Defend better and stop giving the opposition so many 1 on 1's. Sorted. :)

EDIT: - Just read you last sentence. You've already sorted it.
Seriously, I've seen the CPU attempt it once and it went straight into my keepers hands.

Have they removed the alide tackle/foul crap this year?

An example of what I'm talking about is where you slide tackle to block a shot or tackle someone. The ball moves onwards away from the two players but then the man standing continues his run and trips over the man on the floor and gets a freekick/penalty.

Yeah seen this 4 times all seperate matches been screwed with it twice luckily last two i managed to save.

I haven't had any problems yet but he's the fourth person to complain about it that I've seen today.
