Right now I've heard lots of nice little additions:



1. Shotfeint while stationary.

2. Being able to let the ball pass you in favor of a teammate in a better position, and being able to let the ball pass you and run after. PES has had it for a while so good they got it in.

3. Possible Local replay save




Lots of little things they've managed to get in there.

apart from the replay save, fifa08 has those features

number 2 does not work well on fifa 08, it does not give you full control, unlike the supercancel on pes which is hope this is what fifa 09 are on about

i wanna be able to dummy and turn in one go , let ball roll to the side of me instead of taking a touch, make a non scripted run to confuse the defence

easily done in pes, not in fifa 08

Yeah super cancel in PES led to some awesome moves and goals

we need a dummy as well so we can let the ball run through your legs

Well, the shotfeint while stationary was mentioned as a new feature. Perhaps in FIFA08 the player will by himself start moving in a direction as he feints the shot, while in FIFA09 it will be possible to perform the shotfeint and end up not moving at all, or something like that.

Also, I don't recall FIFA08 having the feature of the player automatically following the path of theball, for instance when you press Sprint and the direction of the ball's path. PES has this, and it's not just a Supercancel thing, it is its own animation and move.

Also I'm pretty sure FIFA08 doesn't have the ability to let a pass go betweeen your legs in favor of a teammate behind you (In PES it's performed by holding SPrint and nothing else, which will make the player let the ball pass him with a dedicated animation).

I'm sure it might've been possible in FIFA08 by perhaps simply moving your player out of the way or such, but they might've made them into their own features to to speak.


Though haven't played a huge amount of FIFA08, so I reserve myself for any errors. :)

Yeah I miss PES Supercancel.

Also really miss the Dummy in PES - So simple to put in - Great fun when used correctly.

I thought the point of not showing the time added on was to create a sense of anxiety

They don't show it because sometimes it gets to the 102nd minute. The referee only whistles after an attack. If that attack lasts 12 game minutes, it would look ridiculous.

I think in Fifa 09 is not possible to let a pass go betweeen your legs.
But is possible to move before receibing the pass to perform a different type to control the ball, or letting the ball go.

I wish they would create that magical feeling in real life when the teams searching for a winner or equalizer in the last 5 minutes, throwing everything forward with the home crowd getting more and more vocal, screaming at the refs decisions and going barmy behind the goal.

It always feels flat when its that stage, they need to give it more emotion during various stages of the game in accordance with the importance of the game.

Yeah I agree with that. The game needs more atmosphere in general. I really wish they worked on stuff like that.

1. Nets!!!! Please make the physics more realistic - less heavy duty - different goal net styles tob replicate the stadium you are playing.

2. SHOOTING!! has this been corrected? More snappy, harder shots please. These loopy long distance shots are my biggest gripe with Fifa.

3. ATMOSPHERE!! Add tension, excitement, elation by use of crowd effects, commentary..celebrations etc.

4. Dont lock the editing options!! have everything unlockable from the start...if your purpose is to add longevity to the game find another way!

5. Individual player charachter! make each player feel like his real life counterparty - as in the ps2 pro evo games.

I asked about this, it's basically down to the time required to make all home and away kits which in itself is quite a task for all the teams, then to add 1x more kit onto that for every goalkeeper's kit is just considered not so important sadly.


that is a shame mate, kind of ruins it a little bit for me being a stickler for authenticity

gameplay in fifa/uefa for me is spot on so any additions is most welcome

yes i also hate the locked boots,balls option.....this is so annoying and should be made optionable to suit the gamers taste, if they prefer to unlock balls then make it available, if not then just unselect it

unlikely they'll have done this, but what i would really like for xbox live matches is the ability to drop in/out of online matches. So if you have to answer the phone or the door, you can drop yourself out temporarily instead of quitting, and AI will take over your team (although only amateur level AI otherwise you might end up getting wins without playing!)

This would also be strongly in effect for 'quitters' so if they quit the match, turn off their console etc, the game would still continue playing with the AI controlling their team, and you could go on to beat them by a few goals instead of the hollow victory with no stats you get at the moment. Also until that match is over, it would be impossible to start a new one.

and if you got disconnected through no fault of your own, there would be a rejoin match option in the live menu which would load up the match currently in progress and you could jump right back into the action.

They should also implement a real-time network analyser which recognises when someone's internet connection starts lagging badly, and advise them that it is happening, and if it doesn't get improved within a certain amount of time, the game will kick them out and revert to AI control.

2. More weather. *rain, snow, high winds, hail etc*
3. Automatic gloves for cold days.
4. More facial expressions for brilliant missed chances.
5. More ball physics, i.e wind against a player - you have to apply more power to your shots etc.
6. Freekick taking to be improved, i.e how to apply curl, lift etc.
7. More skills.
8. Celebration selection from Euro 2008.
9. More celebration combinations.
10. Upto date chants.
11. Better crowd graphics.
12. Being able to arange friendlies in manager mode...
13. Realistic Youth squad upcomings.
14. More footballs.
15. More football boots.
16. More options for create a player.
17. Creat a football team.
18. More realistic injury times, i.e broken leg out for 5months+, broken nose out for 1-2weeks etc.
19. Being able to see injuries in replay, with commentry on the scenario.
20. More season awards i.e golden boot, player of the year, team of the week etc.
21. More indepth for scouting, buying, loaning players.
22. More realistic player ratings, i.e EA not bumming Ronaldo, Drogba etc...
23. Option to edit players look whilst in manager mode.
24. Youth players with realistic names depending on their nation.
25. Better graphics for the goal nets and better reaction nets!!!!!26. Highly expressive fans for important goals.
27. More realistic commentry.
28. New commentators. *maybe a choice, or switches automatically for important, non important games?*
29. Better passing *more intelligent*.
30. Self chosen place shots.
31. Realistic goalnet reactions.
32. Better control of off-ball players.
33. Harsher referees.
34. More foul types.
35. Option to choose stadiums for online matches.

49. Realistic budgets for players so no Fernando Torres for £12mil etc.
50. All ECC matches played a night time.
51. ECC final at a neutral venue.
52. Semi-Final and Cup Finals at Wembley.
53. Wear and tear on the pitch from tackles, misticks etc.
