I have always played PES and havent bothered with FIFA for nearly a decade, but I am interested in the next release after seeing some of the screen shots.
Does anyone know if there is a global stat editor out there for the fifa games? I see gameplay as always being poor compared to PES, but think it may be worth attempting to sort out the gameplay of FIFA this year

When you play 08 you will see how far the gameplay is ahead of PES these days
so see it being poor will change to saw it as being poor after you have tried it

Man the faces are so embarrassing... I mean I don't really care that much about it but jesus christ look at the latest batch where Klose has scored. All the faces looks like caricatures, even the generic ones! I guess this is one of the problem with next gen graphics in sports games. In older games you could just pretend it pretty much looked like the player, but now it is like a freak show right in your face. Anyways last time I rant about faces.
Would be nice with some videos soon. Hopefully we don't have to wait for Leipzig for that.

the scoreboard looks incredibly bad, something i could pull out in 2 minutes. and dortmund is wearing their 06/07 kits, that's 2 years old! makes the game really look like some rushed out job based on fifa 07...
you just can't allow those pics to be over the net, especially not "marketing kings" ea :-S

Thats where I think PES is a lot better. Some of the face packs on this site are incredible since they are based on photos rather than 3d creations. From far, players in PES look a lot like themselves, and imo look great from close too.
San Siro is fucked up in FIFA, and has been since FIFA 06! PES gets this sort of stuff spot on, and actually has some atmosphere!

don't worry, i have high hopes for this game and am still very excited to play it, but those screens are horrible! the version they have surely is a very, very early build, i just can not believe how ea could approve those screenshots to be put online? they make the look so damn shabby, and you can not argue about that!

or to some extent, pro evo 08. there faces are alot more lifelike then fifa's. thats the only thing pro evo has over fifa atm

I don't think OPM is doubting the game in motion, but the other stuff thats been unchanged for the last few versions is frustrating. Placebo also spoke about the Manager Mode being unchanged, and the logos on the kits.

Yeah I agree with that. They're not official pics from EA but they're still on the net. 11/9/08 it is for the demo? as long as it plays better, and that's what everyone says, the graphical part is secondary, at least for me. but that's everything we can put our finger on and judge about right now, so they should really be more careful with the strategy of giving out information. normally they are, as far as i know ea sports.

all the kits and what have you will be the latest ones once the game is out, its the same every year (people whining about last years kit, then when the game is out everything is perfect)

You don't see the faces much anyway because the camera is far out
the only time you see them is cut scenes (which most skip), goal celebrations (which most skip) and replays (who would zoom upto the face on a replay!!)
So im not fussed about the faces at all
