FC Barcelona Thread

I just wondered about Chygrinsky. Since i only see Barcelona play in the CL, i'm not aware if those fringe players get a lot of opportunities to play.

Chygrynskiy seem to make mistakes quite often whever I saw him play for Barca. I think they could have showed a bit more patience with him but Barca seem to buy squad players and then discard them after a season or two (Chygrynskiy, Cáceres, Hleb etc.).

I think Caceres is a great player for Sevilla and could be a great player for some italian and spanish clubs, but I don't see him fitting in our team right now. He's great defending near the area, but we defend in the halfline, and there any kind of error gets magnified and cost a clear goal chance. And he doesn't add much in offensive terms or keeping possession, something that we abuse of.

Though, he has the speed we desperately need to recover in our backline. We just miss Abidal and Puyol too much.

That's what I mean. The speed alone would help BIG time especially in a backup/squad player. Only Dani Alves in defense is as fast as him. His speed is pretty surprising actually. You wouldn't think he's that fast, but when he gets going at full speed, he's pretty fast! And he's pretty strong for such a fast guy as well. Quite athletic.

The other day I see him win battles against Ronaldo by both keeping up with him speedwise and also bodychecking him and knocking him away.

I think he's be a great backup to have. Especially with Puyol and Abidal getting older. Don't know why he's getting compared to Busquets who's a different player in a different position and no, I'd definitely take him over Bogarde.

He's hardly perfect though and still has a LOT to learn but I think he will. He's still fairly young and will improve further.

So apparently Pep was in Brescia today to have dinner with the club's staff and president, as well as meeting his former team mates for lunch. I love reading about things like this, like the whole Mazzone thing in the CL final 2 years ago.

It's not the deffensive part of Caceres what worries me, it's we need someone who can also take care of the ball. Maybe with time he could be a grea backup for us, maybe. The thing is we need someone exactly like him but not him, if it makes sense at all!

Yes, I love this things. Making such bonds with other clubs and people is what sport should be about most of the time. I love stories of players from abroad that end up being the symbol (or at least beloved by the people there) of clubs in other countries!

I hate these childish comments. They may as well come back and hit very soon.

Reminds me of when Mourinho danced around the Camp Nou with Inter and less than a year later he was humiliated at the same place.

Well, in my spanish take it with a grain of salt..I`m Dominican I understood He said " Not to lose the custom of the 5-0 win from our last encounter" Nothing arrogant at all. More of a tease or banter. Please! probably a dig to mourinho

He is in charge of an elite club drekkard you are too anal about it. Maybe ,I`m wrong I live in a country where talk is cheap n actions matter. I like RM but what will Mourinho say if he is trophy-less this season?

Well it will surely be more competitve at least. Barcelona are having a slight dip of form now with some injuries and Real are starting to get along. Players like Ozil,Di Maria, and Marcelo have been stunning recently.

Can anyone provide the dates of the upcoming Real-Barca games? I heard they may be delays or something.

Liga: Madrid-Barça, 17th April
Copa: Barça-Madrid, 20th April
Champions: Madrid-Barça, 26th or 27th April; Barça-Madrid, 3rd or 4th May*

*If both advance to semi-finals

I am not surprised. He had that mentality since the beginning and Pep takes a lot of time in contract renewals and only extends one year at a time.
He's smart. I think he wants to leave before the team deteriorates through age. Considering how old a couple of the players are, I cant imagine Barca being this dominant in 2 years time. They'll always be a top side but not like what they are right now, which is probably the best club side I've seen in my life time.

I dunno Rune, Xavi and Puyol are key guys no doubt but replacing the former with Fabregas and Pique maturing and replacing Puyol could make it a seamless transition.

Guardiola will manage Roma within the next 2 years. Mark my words. New rich American owner, love interest with Italian football, friends in Rome... why not?

I was right at predicting Mancini at City almost 2 years earlier. He seems like the sort of smart young manager that wants to build his knowledge and experience, and Roma really need new ideas and confidence.

Also, I think it's good for him to leave Barca on a high rather than leave because of bad performances. Mourinho did this with Inter, meaning he has a chance of returning in the future.

Legend.

Great results for us today. But I'm still terribly worried with:
- Form/condition: We look very tired, we feel empty in the last 10 minutes of games and takes a lot of time to start playing offesnively lately.
- Ambition: We haven't closed a game in the last 2 months. I mean, we recently win with the minimum effort. It's very dangerous to do this. It costed us the match at the Emirates, 2 points at Sevilla and almost 2 points against Getafe. We should close things earlier, mainly because:
- We bloody waste so many chances! We have to shoot a lot more and define much much better.

With this condition and the attittude of trying to de "precious" and "flashy" things we will have some problems this season. We can't play like this against Shakhtar. We must go for them from 1st minute to the 180th. And try to score as many as possible as early as possible. That should be the attittude. I mean, it's not easy to do, but at least it should be our idea of football, and not this recent "controlling" the match but winning by a tiny margin each week.

But, hey, we played the 3rd team of La Liga today and we won, so we should also celebrate we are 8 points ahead of Real. The league is almost here, if we manage to win at Madrid then it's done.

we are the champions

Yes, we won the Supercopa back in August. I think you were refering to that?

Agreed the league is easier now, but if we loose at Bernabeu, there are still enough games to loose the title. We lost some titles like this one in the 80s, wasting 6 or 8 points differences, so we have to keep winnig.

we are the champions of "la liga"

is simple.

8 points and all hard match away finish(valencia,sevilla,villarreal,espanyol,atletico..)

real madrid will play away with sevilla,villarreal,valencia,espanyol..

only madrid-barça for do happy to fans withes...

Wow, what a match yesterday at Camp Nou! Shakhtar was probably the best team I've watched in the last 3 years, even better than Betis. And both conceded 5 goals at the end of the night. That's why most teams come here to park the bus, but I really appreciate Shakhtar tried to play football. And they did it very well!

The result could have been 4-3 easily, and we could be losing in the first half. Shakhtar deserved a lot more and we showed we are an impressive team, but we miss a lot Puyol and Abidal. We lack a lot of speed back. The brazilians of Shakhtar really impressed me. They are bloody quick, but they wasted some chances, and they paid for it.

It's not done yet. We have to go to Donetsk and end the round. Yes,w e have 4 goals of margin, but against Betis we had 5 and were losing 3-1 at halftime. And if we go on (that looks most probable), Madrid will be a very tough challenge.
