English Premier League thread

And rightfully so. Finally Chelsea lost after one of their many lacklustre performances in 2014.

Both red cards were the right decisions and that slithery scumbag Mourinho deserves to be sent off almost every game which they're not winning - the constant moaning and trash talking to the ref had to come to an end.

Well played Villa.

City showed today how to retaliate after a bad ref decision. In stark contrast to Spurs who would've folded and lost by 3-5 goals, City scored 2 and kept a clean sheet. Fantastic!

I can't believe with how bad Manu looks this year they are still close to 6th. I think this shows how shit the prem is outside the top six or seven.

the prem is shit including the top six or seven, no english teams in the QF of the champions or europa league, except maybe chelsea, 50/50 on that..

tbf what other leagues have teams outside of the top 6 or 7 who are real quality teams?

United are 7th and 18 points off top, in La Liga Sevilla are in 7th and are 24 points off top, in the Bundesliga Bayern still haven't lost and are 32 points ahead of the team in 7th, Italy is worse where Juve are 34 points clear of 7th placed Lazio, Benfica are 28 points ahead of 7th...

All leagues are like this, Man Utd lie in 7th and on their day if they all play to their actual ability they could beat most teams in Europe. Of course the chance of that happening is very slim thanks to the useless manager they have. United are having a bad season, but they're still a quality team, or at least could be.

pretty much, The League gets a lot of flack these days about it just being the best 'brand' (which it probably is) but its not just all marketing, its a good league!

I'm quite convinced that nowadays the EPL is the best league in the world.
A couple of years ago, i had my doubts about that, but now not at all...

It's the most attacking league in the world, and yet most of the teams have rock solid defenses.

you could have the biggest balls on the planet but if you lose 1-3 your balls are meaningless, fulham are gone IMO plus they got quite a few injuries, what a strike from dejagah though..

Yeah Fulham are away for me too.

Looking at the top, I have no favourites, but for something new I'd like to see Liverpool win it. I did fancy Chelsea from the start, but I'm starting to think it could be Man City, guess the Anfield clash will go a long way to determining it.

Did a predictor last week and it game out as:

City 85
Liverpool 85
Chelsea 85

Would make for a crazy last day, esp. if ours and Liverpool's GD is close

it wont be that close. Liverpool imo are the Atletico Madrid in that most w`d love to see them out of nowhere to snatch the title. Their chances are like Arsenal getting the FACup 1 hand on it 1 off of it.

no one w`d of thought them snatching anything these season.

I could see it happening.

City and Chelsea draw at anfield. City draw against Everton and Palace. All 3 teams win the rest.

Liverpool plays once a week for nearly 3 mts. City still needs to play the games in hand. Chelsea still playing twice a week. The difference will be Aquero and his return date. Every week something chances ... I don't even have to look at this week's fixtures ( +3,-2,0 )

As I've said - if LFC win they'll thoroughly desreve it, and I believe will have taken more points in 20 or so games than any team in recent memory.

But.

The real challenge will be next year. By not being in Europe and bowing out of domestic cups, LFC really have had only one race to run this year - and didn't do that well over Christmas when they had to play more than once a week. Also they've had almost no significant injuries since November - probably because of the lack of games/time to rest and prepare.

If they win it'll be 20 to 19...and I still think it'll be a while before it's 20 to 20...

I cant believe how fucking Fellaini get over beaing such an asshole since everton days and no one talks about him , hope someone broke his fucking head , its one (maybe the only) who i would want his leg get broken , hes such a prick

lol but to be fair wigan vs leeds does sound like a super league fixture..

what's going on norwich sack hughton with 5 games left and their last 5 games is fulham, liverpool, man u, chelsea, arsenal. not alot a new coach can do in this situaution tbh mane, they in some deep shit, they got no decent strikers though, v. wolfswinkel £10m and only 1 goal all season...

finally 10 years later leicester are promoted cos qpr lost and r. mahrez looks a decent player..

Brilliant from Pulis
