English Premier League thread

Guys, stop it.
I'm very fond of both of you.
Sometimes i'm not better, but this is only internet...you don't even actually see each other.

You know that you are both very similar here on evo-web...at the moment you both only see differences. IMO you have a lot more in common.

only 3? should be at-least 12 games. this inconsistency is shit when you compare this to joey barton who didnt really do anything and got 12...

I tend to agree that the ban is somewhat on the light side, however, Fellaine is important enough that any game wo him will take some serious sting out of the Everton attack. They ll especially miss him against Chelsea. What he did though was shockingly malicious in nature when you see the footage.

Completely agree, he was lucky with only 3 matches.
On the other hand: Shawcross is no choirgirl eihter.

It's no excuse for Fellaini, but refs should start doing something against what happens when there are corners and free kick: holding players, disturbing GK's, and this on both sides. If a player catches another players shirt in midfield, this is always a foul, if this happens in the 16, then it's never a penalty. This should always be a penalty.

People talk about 'light' penalties, that is just like saying that somebody is a litle bit pregnant...

 i meant no provocation what so ever, i'm just happy to see such a bargain. I've said he'll be a good prospect when Swansea signed him back at the start, but i never imagined him turning into the player he is now.

Wow Manu is just fun to watch sometimes
Wigan got hosed
Rogers needs to learn how to adapt, he got completely out coached
Spurs can counter
Oh and what is everyone thoughts on this , ngozi instead of Allen for Liverpool?

I can't say I'm impressed by Allen, tbh he ain't someone I even remember all that great for Swansea.

Listened to a guy on the radio from Manchester Evening News who was saying that whilst it's been exciting to watch at times, the overall quality of the league has slipped and even commented that Man Utd could really face trouble in Europe as they are shipping too many goals.

I guess as long as Bet Fred doesn't pay out early, Man U look a stick-on now as this is when they usually get most points. Looking at it Chelsea seem to be hitting a bit of form, but they might have been left with too much to do now.

I'm glad we won, took full advantage of two comedy howlers, but we'll take those gleefully! Though I'm not thinking of Wembley yet, even with a 2-0 lead going into the home leg.

Well done Swansea. I hope you reach Wembley and win the League Cup (and i'm somebody who quite likes Chelsea, i write this because i love Swansea, great big litle club...).

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...Chamakh-says-West-Ham-boss-Sam-Allardyce.html

I'm with fat Sam on this one.

I expect EPL fans to finally see what Chamakh is about now. It's gonna take him a bit of time to settle in with new team and players and it's only a short loan for 6 months nonetheless, I expect a good 2nd half of season for Marouane.

Allardyce will get him to perform far better than Wenger managed. This should prove to be a nice pickup for West Ham!

I agree with Big Sam and slim Sina on this...
Chamakh is a great forward who never had a decent chance with Arsenal (and i'm afraid for Giroud that he will face the same problem as Chamakh, why play Walcott as a CF if you have a real CF and a good one).

West Ham's playing style may suit him better than Arsenal's...

Just a question here: does anyone have something on Scott Sinclair? it's been quite a long time since his name came up, it's almost like he vanished

I can confirm that his bank account is very healthy. He, Lescott, Rodwell and up until recently Milner have all massively improved their golf game, and are hoping to shortly make their debuts on the UK amateur circuit.

Think your harsh on Lescott and Milner Beach, both deserve there PL medal and while Lescott has now been eased out Milner continues to play his part.

Completely agree. I even think City is a lesser team because Lescott doesn't play anymore. About Milner: IMO he is an unsung hero for Man City.

And about Rodwell: i might be wrong but hasn't he been injured ? At Everton he was a very good and promising player. Going to City might not be his best decision but we will never know if he really went for the money.

I wanted to post about what I personally think the Liverpool owners are attempting to do. There has been a lot of talk specifically comming from gerrard about the youth policy they have implemented. Well on the outset it has not been confirmed officially from the club they are doing this, it has been hinted at. Obvisouly Stevie G is somewhat thinking of himself and his age, of course a player of his caliber probably does not want to be part of a youth build, and suffer mediocrity for the sake of the future. Understandably he is adverse to this. But if you look at it from the perspective of FSG, they certainly were burned in the Daglish transfers... They paid a lot of money for players who did not perform and from all accounts were not worth the monies paid. They have seemed to have taken a different approach. You see this approach in North American sports. It is the rebuild thru youth policy, typically called 5 year plans.Basically you keep a few solid veterans who are good in the locker room and can lead(caragher, gerrard, reina) and you bring in as much young talent as you can. You develop and nurture that young talent, knowing you will not win right away, but setting yourself up for a period of prosperity when the younger players come of age. Understandably the fans want to win now, however that comes with a price. It could either go the way of city, or the way with liverpool when they wasted all of that money on avg players and got avg results. I think patience is key here for liverpool and there supporters, fans of Bundesliga please correct me if I'm wrong, but is this not what Klopp has done at Dortmund? Ajax does something similar but they end up selling as the players come of age. I am not aware of how succesfull the yonger liverpool sides are doing, but we do see the young talent on the current squad(coates, sterling, wisdom, henderson, suso) mixed in with a bit older talent in sturidge, allen, assidi, lucas, suarez.. and of course the veterans.. Time will tell if this approach will work, but im not so sure they can afford another situation like they had with daglish...

I agree too, was just attempting some humor on here. People need to lighten up!
