guys anyone like me where this game absolutely fries the cpu, i have my cpu getting up to 82c on some cores playing this game...Corsair H80i v2 installed.

the game is just bad even when u play league mode, superstar difficulty, u play a match vs lowely leganes using barcelona, and ur players don t want to run, i can t see how anyone can enjoy such a hampering offline experience with this game... my players just don t want to run
 
it has to be said, after playing some 400 games in pes 2021, lionel messi is as useless as anthony martial in this game, man he has zero physicality, can t keep a ball, so slow when he accelerates, nothing like real life one, it s bad, he s 94 rated yet he doesn t feel at all like that...neymar is miles better
 
another thing that has to be said, the cpu cheating on superstar especially vs real madrid is just too much, even while playing league mode, cpu cheating is there, and my players are as slow as a snail....man i always try to like this game, but it s just too much to handle, and i end up turning off and goodbye

How can anyone consider these two games to be different lol, they have the same cheating ai on superstar difficulty even on vanilla, it has the same ai pattern which is really repetitive, after playing more than 400 games with different formations and enabling fluid formations for ai , it still plays the same, the franchise needs a total overhaul to save it, that s all i can say

I must be the only one in this universe, PS4 versions full updated, that i prefer 2020 over 2021 gameplay wise.

I like more that 2020 lagish but smooth and slow tempo, over the more responsive but more frentic from time to time tempo of 2021.

Also since i play on Master League Superstar and CPU almost 99% of time is reading input, I can't take advantage of increased responsiveness.

For example trap feint, leave the ball and run or whatever is named, in 2020 it is more OP, works almost 9 of 10 times, while while in 2021 is less effective, works variety of 5/10 to 7/10 times, depending on situation, IE even when you make it work, the AI can stop you with a no-call-foul-rugby tackle, or a clipping-stick a leg through your body, etc..

On the AI as @Hatrickhero said above, it is very shallow and repeatitve in both games.

At least, the good part, the AI is not spacestellar extradimensional cheating like in 2019 and 2018, where in my side is the No#1 reason , that two old games are unplayable on ML Superstar.

And who said that this doesn t still happen in 2021, and the aspect ur talking about has no bearing on the overall enjoyment of the game, the whole ai pattern needs a new concept, i thought that playing league mode ur players won t be affected by the mentality thing, god i was wrong, when u face real madrid, ur players from the start, are slow, they need 5 sec to pass the ball, it all becomes really so annoying that i turn it off completely

I don't know, did i?..No i didn't..

I said it happens in both. They bad AI cheating is a concept in every PES since 2018. The problem is since 2019 it also became also one dimensional and boring.

this is why i wanted to like the game, but i can t , it will not let u like it because of these fundamental issues with it in OFFLINE game modes, we didn t have these issues in ps2 days which is my biggest disappointment and concern..
 
Well tbf the cheated AI, scripted whatever you called it, it exist in almost every version of PES even in PS2 era. This is the thread from 2000s

I wouldn't say "you play it wrong" but rather than try different approach or adapt with newer PES. If someone want to play the same way they did on PS2 to newer PES (eg. 2020/2021) Well, that's not gonna work. Atleast this is what i did when playing different PES version.

Then what's your point ? Like i said it's my opinion & those post i linked are proof that poor AI exist for years.

What you want me to do then ? Bash the game and be a sheep to hate this game ?

Let anyone including myself enjoy the game. I do have a problem with the game, it's nowhere a perfect game with all the "scripted" or whatever but I still playing it hours till this day. It's not like the only football game exist in this world. We have alternative. Don't like PES 2020/21 then feel free try old game which more suitable to your style. It's that simple.

Agree on some points, disagree on others,but I think it is subjective to everyone's approach, a adaptability, etc.

Speaking only of me, i have much different approach in 2020 and 2021 than before.

I don't believe anyone has same approach with old games. With PES 6 approach i could not even play PES 2010.

Well cheating always existed, but in previous titles it was better disguised. Now some times due to bad or blatant AI, it is so obvious some times that becomes from annoying/boring to gamebreaking depending the person.

Finally , i have 3 saves running 2 on 2020 and 1 on 2021, all on Superstar and dozens of seasons.

Even now on my current 2021 ML 3rd season with 95+ Team Spirit, would you believe, if I tell you that there are matches, that i go to settings after match ends, and check out if i accidentally messed something and i am on TopPlayer or Legend? (Depending if the CPU was extremely bad or good)

Interesting how different views can be. To me, animations in PES2021 seem to be much richer resulting in less jerky and nearly always seamless transitions. Game speed feels same or even slower, playing both games on -2 speed.

It s not just that, it s the non varied rigid shooting variation either by you or the cpu ai, it s almost always the same goals they score over and over again, i have to ask you how many times since pes 2017, how many times i have seen the " long ball down the middle and first time shot by the striker in the bottom right corner" and always, the same shot same height and same direction, it got so boring honestly no matter how i changed the camera, or tried different formations and edited the formations of the cpu teams, it s always same kind of goals

Some people said play league mode to get rid of the team spirit , but no they were wrong, team spirit is always there....

Has nothinfg to do with style, when u play a top team, the cpu cheating kicks in, and lazer guided passing aswell, and it ruins ur whole experience when it does, i m telling u as a pes player since ISS pro 2002

Well my personal take on this, even for the most disbelieving people that deny the existence of "scripting/handicap", is that :

1) The emotions/heart option that was possible to switch on/off in exhibition matches, pre 2018, is in most recent games always on by default, with no option to switch it on/off.

2) For anyone that had tried the vsCOM match mode in MyClub, you will notice that each difficulty has 3 tiers weak/normal/strong. This varies according to your consecutive wins. I strongly believe the same adaptive difficulty tier applies in single modes, IE you are in Superstar, after 5 wins, the AI adapts to strong Superstar tier, you play Charlton Athletic and it shutters you to pieces, than the adaptive difficulty relegates you to normal or weak tier, and mext game you play against ManU but you win them 5-0 hands down.

3) Another "evidence". Usually in MyClub when you play the match for 5th consecutive win, thst gived you bonus GP, it is usuall a mess, according to people experience. In ML a similar routine used to apply, in oes 2018 and 2019 when the club owner commands you to win the next match for a 5/5 wins, the match is usually a mess, worse than derby matches.

Well my different view on this is, i am usually not annoyed by Real Madrid playing laser games, what annoys me is the blatant boost of small teams, while big teams are toothless (not always though).
Example last night in my ML, i play eitg HSV against Blookrows fake low team of PEU League, i had 9 wins streak, I lost to them 1-4 hands down.

Next game I face Bayern München, i won them 1-0 IIRC, and if you exclude an one touch pass, turn back shoot from Lewandowski, that went almost goal kick, hit the antena holding the nets, they were so helpless, that even if we played two more halfstimes, they would never score.

Wellnin my head, i pretend that they were in a bad day, or I were inna bad day, but it can be annoying when it gets repeative.

In my French save, i got 2-2 with the last club of table Toulouse, then i beat Marseille 1-6 inVellodrome!

Thats some crazy inconsistency!

Interesting take, however this doesn t make me happy at all, i noticed aswell, is if you play with lower tier teams, for example, using napoli and playing serie a, u may notice less scripted cheating ai than for example playing with barcelona, i remember i won the asian cup using lebanon ( team of 60s), i could manage to hold off

Bayern munich have an unusual habit of not being a good team when u face them as cpu, i always manage to win them in champions league whenever i face them, they don t have much cpu cheating in them
