eFootball PES 2020 Discussion Thread (PS4/Xbox One)

I found some 'information' for the Euro 2020 DLC, from this Belgian website.

https://www.cld.be/ShowItem.aspx?id_art=116416

Apparently KONAMI are only adding 2 new stadiums (Wembley & St. Petersburg), in addition to the Allianz Arena, Johan Cruijff Arena and the Olimpico.

:(

Will they release this considering if the club season gets suspended for a month then the Euros will be cancelled.

UEFA are holding a meeting on Tuesday to discuss the UCL, UEL and Euros.

I personally think that they should postpone all leagues, force a "self-isolation" for all clubs until the end of the season, and then see how it is.

Well as i shows in this video here and i will upload more when i get time:

I use L2 manual constantly btw, this was from the first gameplay patch way back in September, i feel the game has improved a lot since then.

Before R2 was your rock for many things, now its completely changed.

- You have to hold R2 plus the left stick to control the ball in The direction you want with a good first touch, you can't just expect an automatic nice touch with left stick, 'This is a major problem for so many players'.

- If the ball isn't settled from the pass your receiving with the player and you want him to stay still in a tight space. just hold R1 when you receive the pass and the player traps the ball dead, facing forward. so again unlike left stick, you wont have these issues of turning slowing or crap first touches i see so many complain about.

- Lastly hold R2 to allow the ball to run, remain aware of the balls momentum, you will see me do this all the time in this video and upcoming vids.

Thank you for this! The game has opened up quite a bit for me due to these tips.

It's still horrible when you play someone using PA2-3 online but otherwise it's ok.

A question though, I kind of like Basic shooting since it feels kind of stat- based now (especially with better players) but how is Advanved animation- wise? More varied?

Popular streamer kurt0411 is playing the game religiously now. PES community manager should be quick to contact him. He brings a lot of new player.
The Lygaard guy has already commented on it, saying (after Kurt started playing it and publicising it):

Given the stuff Kurt says and does, having spat on EA's logo, calling them "rats" that need to be "ended", I find this pretty fucking shocking. But Lygaard is being pretty clever here, not mentioning anything or anyone specifically - it's an incredibly vague comment out of nowhere, if you don't know the context - so that he can back out of his comment easily.

I don't care how much you love, or hate, a game - his behaviour is psychotic, and disgusting. Whatever promo it provides to PES, Konami would be doing a deal with the devil if they support this guy.

He does seems psychotic at times and a bit of man-child, but i think it's genuinely born out of frustration with EA. If PES / Konami is smart, they should capitalize this on some sort of capacity. Just the other day, he's playing myClub co-op with 2 other popular FIFA streamer and one of them being a FIFA pro (Tekkz). Outside of the official e-sports competition, PES have never enjoyed this popularity on Twitch before.

Playing offline league games only, gameplay and CPU also feels very natural to me on full manual and superstar level. Whatever Konami changed with the last patch or not, it surely didn't ruin it.

Have to say, I'm slowly coming round to this patch. It has a measured smoothness to it and a sense of pause built into the play that is unusual for a football game. The structure and organisation of teams is better too.

That this had to come at the cost of the variety and vitality of the previous patch is disappointing though...

Being in the PES subreddit, I was beginning to feel I was the only one who feels this way lol

it would be embarrassing when euro 2020 only happen in game but not real life

Every club in Europe picks their representative. We finish out the season(s) out on console.

I got a tip for a online league (10v10) somewhere around the release of this game.
Can't remember who gave it to me (sorry) or which league it was.
Very interested to get a link for it again, really got the bug playing sports games like this, brilliant idea.
Could it have been @janguv ?

What a wanker,seriously!
I've seen his rants and behaviour on YT,and he comes across as a 5 year old not getting the toys he wants!
Maybe he's frustrated, still he makes his living playing that game.
Seen the same behaviour on big 2k streamers shitting on that game (but still making $ doing it

I’ve been going on about how unplayable BAL is and has been for a long time. Started a new one after the patch and it’s reaaaallly enjoyable. Top pl. fuma. 12 mins. Like, the ai are actually playing me the ball exactly where I want it a lot of the time. Mind blowing. 🤷‍♂️ Coupled with what seems like balanced opposition. Cannot complain. Only caveat is I’m in a really poor league in first season. Hope the ai doesn’t go full OJ when I move to serie A or Spain 😬

My first thought. This guy is... i don’t know. Maybe he’s really ill. But that stuff doesn’t fly at all in my book!!! Never will!!
People should never behave like that (if not really ill and you can’t do s about it, of course)!
My view at things here isn’t negotiable, folks!!! so please don’t try! :SHHH:

It’s worse than that, you know that!
It’s about the people’s insult!! Inhuman behavior! There is already enough s going on worldwide and certain communities get this cherry on top?! F me!!

In my opinion i am scared that such a guy is now associated with Pes streaming. Scared because watching his number Konami will be even more validated in focusing on Myclub alone. Anyways i prefer streamers like Pesep and others with their little chill communities.

Yeah you're right man,shit storm's everywhere nowadays

Hey, on the bright side. Konami might have finished another two stadiums for it by then.

...too soon?

I set up a small PESfan FUMA World Cup back on pesfan for PES 2016. I think there were 8 teams. 2 groups of 4. Each group played each other in the group once. Top 2 went through to semis. And then it was the final.....and I won!!

Could set up a similar Evo-web Euro tourney if there was any interest.

Of course, we'd need stuff like electricity to play so lets see how it goes.

Did PES get patched? I am all of a sudden seeing better...everything. Positioning, ball awareness, less superman goalkeeping, less vicious strikes, more midfield resistance with the CM/CDM staying with his man versus retreating instantly, and lastly the deep defensive line is looking like a legit dropback versus confused instant retreat teammate AI.

Is this what happens when I finally got around to watch Black Mirror? PES looks good now?

Pes 14-20 have all been a never ending episode of Black mirror (minus the first episode perhaps)

That 3 year cycle has been a cookie.

Anyway, it was a placebo, didn't realize I had modified several gameplan values and lines for specific teams, so not the default tactics. Disregard!

On the gameplay, I played 3 matches with the new patch and I love it. It is good. Every match has been more demanding in the middle of the field and it's harder to make a scoring chance now. I was able to bust out several successful dribbles with the stick - usually I could only do that with :r1: and now the sticks seem a little more useful. The pace of movement seems lower, and players that are fast (like Igboun and Bale) can run away really hard. My favorite game was Celta - Real Sociedad, where most of it happened in the middle of the field. It could have something to do with Celta's 3-6-1 formation, but still I don't recall games that confined to the middle before the patch. It was hard for both teams to get near the box. Felt great, but it got ruined by Real Sociedad's defenders, when they fell a sleep and just let me score an easy goal on the 80 minute mark. I hate when that happens.

Real - Barcelona - 0:1 (last minute counter attack, where Griezmann delivered upon me and other than that we had one chance each)
Celta - Real Sociedad - 1:0 (bullshit garbage cheap goal for me, virtually no other clear chances all game)
Spartak - Dinamo M - 0:0 (we forgave each other at least twice)

I am certain it's more difficult to score now and games have more of the midfield component. This is professional in versus mode, default settings.

On the Kurt thing, I only watched a couple videos from his youtube, the ones where he criticizes the new fifa, and haven't seen anything remotely out of line. To me, it is ea, as usual, that is a complete disgrace here. And if the guy is a myclubber, I guess his content won't be of interest to most of us, but if it helps bring new players and money, while damaging ea - that'd be great. If that money, as someone suggested, is only re-invested into myclub, that's not so great.

Regarding DLC, I don't really understand - what is it? The trophy, ball, and Wembley? The 55 national teams are there as is, Zenit's stadium is coming for different reasons, so it doesn't seem to add much. I was hoping for qualifying - it's kind of a pain to do it in Konami Cup, because no other groups are running at the same time.

After so disliking this patch to begin with I wondered whether I was imagining all this but you've detailed my experience exactly.

On ss I've had games where I cannot get through midfield and end up with zero attempts on goal.

I'm also so impressed by the time you now have to build play, pick a pass, yet theres also still more resistance and pressure.

There is now a rhythm which you see in real football that was absent since the demo.

It feels like each pass is a more distinct phase of play now. As much as I enjoyed the previous patch, passes became something you chained together and it became one long event. Now it feels you start again with each pass which makes each moment feel far more alive.

This is like an old school pes experience for me. Buying a new pes...oh god what have they done, this is horrib...oh hang on a minute...ooh, this is quite good actually.
