eFootball (All Platforms)

I played against players 1000+ that would only switch to their goalkeeper in defense and then hold team press. This means they made it to 1000+ letting the AI defend. It was way too automated and easy.
But what you are describing is a cheesy exploit, not what happens in the flow of a game, which is what slamsoze is discussing. Frankly, whatever it is that 1000+ rated bumclub players do, that should be ruled out of consideration in discussing how the game mechanics affect most games.

For my sins, I used to play a fair bit of FUMA co-op vs assisted bums. Me and my mate would play as leveled up wunderkinds, facing off against your 100+ stacked teams. We won a fair amount of games or pulled level. It was absolutely possible to avoid the press then.

If you enjoy FUMA teamplay though, the solution is clear: play in proper leagues like WAPES. (They may unfortunately die now because eFootball is fucked on the teamplay front.) I played the season just gone and it was immensely satisfying, with realistic pressing shapes and tactics. Unlike any other experience honestly.

In any case, the solution to an overeffective team press in PES (in single player or their co-op mode) isn't to remove team pressing entirely. If you think that's somehow a good thing, you can't value simulations of football, at least not modern football across most European leagues. We need pressing in football games, even if some implementations of it are OP and without proper risk-reward.
I did say it is needed. I win like 99% of the games on FUMA vs assisted on Efootball. It's absolutely broken without team pressing and unfortunately doesn't resemble football. However old team press was so awful it put me off playing manual vs assisted, yet I still played it lol. Those teams you describe... I could win too, with Flamengo even, but the game wasn't football anymore - the speed and accuracy of the 100 rated cards meant that one mistake could result in a goal, the game was just so automated it wasn't fun anymore.

I did join wapes league but lag was crazy. Here in Brazil we made a community for FUMA X11, I hope Konami tries to make that mode for Efootball. Hope this new pressure is well thought out

Before we can talk about any future offline modes, V1.0 will be the key into whether the game has any potential or not. I'm not entirely enthusiastic about efootball, but I am interested in how this version plays when it drops later this week.

Some people are excited and are already hyping up this version, but keep this in mind: We were told by those who play tested the game last year that it's was good, responsive, sharp kicks and everything (oh my), and look how that turned out. 🤡

I'm also hearing that uploading images through option files and such won't be possible as it was with past titles due to the Unreal Engine 4/5. If that's true, then I don't think this game has any chance.

From what I saw in YouTube from person that test it and play vs COM the COM AI in defense is very poor once more . I saw the ball in a through ball pass just the player and the response was absent.

In the 1.0 version will it be possible to freely choose game time and difficulty level (offline) ?
What do you think?

  • I asked the developer. When He changed the button of defence , the button of offense would also changed ? I asked if the role of the L2 button on the offense would change when he changed the Match-up button from L2 to something another on the defense side. He answered, "It's okay. It doesn't change," so He decided to change it.
  • In version 0.9.1, the button layout changed for both offense and defense.
  • People who only play PES don't know Match-up. It's important where they set the Match-up button.
  • Probably not everyone is used to Team Press in R1. Find the controller settings that suits you.
  • Match-up has been changed to L2 from ×. It was changed to L2 and it was difficult to push at first.
  • Those who were playing version 0.9.1 may not be accustomed to L2.
  • The person who was playing FIFA is using L2 as a jockey, so it may not be necessary to change it.
  • After changing the Match-up button to x, it's difficult where I should change the press button.
  • I think that those who used the × press in PES can leave it as ×. Some people use the × press a lot !
  • The person who was playing eFootball was used to use Match-up with ×.
  • I think it will take some time to get used to the operation of L2.
  • I think some people try to get used to the original controller settings, but I think it's important to arrange it so that it's easy to play.
  • It is now possible to change the cursor change type to "the starting point from player".
  • If you are used to playing eFootball, you can keep "the starting point from the ball".
  • When you pressed x twice, you could tackle in PES. You can now choose between shoulder charge and standing tackle.
  • The tackle motion of pressing x twice has been increased to two. There is no charge operation.
  • It is difficult to make a successful shoulder charge, and I cannot take the ball well with a shoulder charge in 2 hours.
  • The dribble has become more difficult, I feel that the chances of tackle are likely to decrease.
  • The Manual Pass Level “1” in PES corresponds to “3” in eFootball.
  • When you play with Manual Pass Level "3" on eFootball, the pass is very different. It was very difficult when I played with Manual Pass Level "3". The pass was very different and the pass was very weak.
  • I couldn't afford to adjust the strength of the pass because the opponent's press was fast.
  • When the Manual Pass Level is set to "3", the pass shifts more than PES.
  • I couldn't use L2 well, so it's difficult to press Match-up.
  • In eFootball, Match-up was the most common way to steal the ball.
  • I felt that Match-up was even stronger than it was in version 0.9.1.
  • Those who were playing PES should be accustomed to this game, and those who were playing version 0.9.1 should be accustomed to this game, too.

@janguv is that enough ??

@hitmanuk

PES21 plays the best game of football you can currently get without going old school. The patches haven't messed it up, on full manual it's a great game.

You also compare it to FIFA again, a game that is only like football in the aspect it has 22 players on a pitch, a ball and goals. FIFA 22 is in the worst 3 'football' games I've ever played, it is absolutely woeful, but I guess if you enjoy unrealistic movement, 300mph ping pong passes and GKs diving out the way of shots, it is amazing.

To recapitalize…
What we expect tomorrow.
No new teams ,
No leagues of course ,
No new modes ,
ONLY online ,
Perhaps polishing graphics
A little better defense
Only 5min games (just ridiculous to me)
A few more stadiums
Individual directions that you can’t change it during game ( so what the purpose to apply if a put the anchor man to join the attack and when I score not to be able to play more defensively)
A new team presentation .
The same poor goalkeeping ( better than fifa’s this year to be truthfully but not satisfyingly)
Weird in some time ball physics
And confusing new button configuration which if you manage to configurate once the game doesn’t save it.
Do I forget something?

don't hold your breath for offline modes...
But i also think they will try to make money on us/offline players. Even if they will try to force us to play online at least at the beginning.
Modes are finger in the nose and cost nothing so why not... If it can bring a small amount of Yen in more

I can’t honestly see Konami releasing or unlocking some offline content (if any at all) between now and the end of summer. They are obviously just interested in this being an online game even though they have said that offline is possible in the future.

Lol, it's just an assumption, i never said it like a thruth. Don't need to always bring back "you got info?", it's not a scientific forum.
We talk, we guess, we share, we debate. I just said that some Yen in more may interest them, it's pretty simple. One thing is sure : we have no clue about the future of it.

There's never enough money for company. If it cost nothing to them to make it, why not? I never stated it like an information or saying "i know". You don't know neither, they (the others guys here) don't know neither. We're just in the cloud, all is about showing gameplay ATM.

People, we, us, pay for modes, that's simple.

For me the game isn't ready until 1. There is some form of single player mode I can test 2 the games are longer. Until then I'm not going to even try the new update

Yeah to me it's like a demo, a real beta (not the 0.9.0.) There's nothing to eat. I won't try more than a couple of game and close it soon.

You know what, same, I'm not gonna play this game again until there's some single player mode either
Maybe by then the game could reach a decent level

don't hold your breath for offline modes...

Not at the minute no
But honestly I don’t get how long our patience has already been tested…
With the update coming out and having again only 5min matches etc, it is simply laughing in our face

i dont think that will be offline mode this year at all
I get that the focus is now for online play, but that shouldn't mean that offline players are ignored.

I think it would be a no-brainer for Konami to unlock teams, difficulty and match times for offline players (and even add a simple league mode)

It wouldn't be difficult surely, and would give offline players the chance and motivation to try the game (who knows, some might even try online later if they liked what they saw), and promote it.

They could charge for this, and bring in some revenue, making it a win-win for them and their customers. It would give long-suffering offline players something to chew on after a long wait with nothing, and restore some of the damage done to the brand.

The bottom line is, ignoring the offline modes isn't going to affect the take-up of the game by online players, and offline players aren't likely to convert to playing online if they don't already.

They want us all to move on from PES 2021 etc, but offer nothing for offline players to do so.

Let's hope that Konami buck the trend, and we get something for offline play tomorrow, but I'm not holding my breath!

For sure you will get nothing offline tomorrow

  • First, we will review the changes between Ver.0.9.1. and Ver.1.0.0.
  • A "Team Press" button has been added. It's strong enough to get complaints
  • A player who moves with Team Press can easily steal the ball just by pressing R1.
  • It was good enough to stop in front of the opponent. I think it was good that it was strong enough to limit the course.
  • Next, the cursor change can be changed the starting point from "ball" to "player".
  • It is important that the distance that the cursor can be moved is longer than the change of the starting point. It is great that you can change the cursor to a distant player by changing the cursor. In version 0.9.1, it was difficult to limit the pass course because it was inconvenient to change the cursor. That's why everyone said it was difficult to defend.
  • With the addition of Team Press, defense has become much easier. Kick cancellation has been changed from "□ → R1" to "□ → ×".
  • In version 0.9.1, I couldn't select a set-piece kicker either, so I thought they would be added, including Individual Instructions.
  • However, it became inconvenient because we couldn't remove Individual Instructions during the match. You may not be able to attach a counter target because you can play even if the player's stamina decreases. I couldn't really understand the difference with Individual Instructions. I don't think it's good not to be able to remove it during the match.
  • I wanted them to add instructions to the team instead of Individual Instructions. Something like wide positioning or side rotation. Football is a sport played by teams.
  • I hope that such instructions will increase in the future. Next is the impact kick, but it's difficult to operate. You have to press R2 and the kick button at the same time.
  • As a feature of version 1.0.0, the game speed has also got faster. The pass speed and dribble speed have not got faster.
  • Since the opponent's press is fast, we have less time to hold the ball. It's more football-like than PES and more football-like than eFootball ver.0.9.1. But dribbling isn't faster.
  • Since the opponent's press is fast and dribbling is difficult, quick judgment is required. You will be able to do it if you practice
  • The defense has become considerably stronger. The developer said, "We made the game balance 2-1".
  • When I limit the pass course and steal the ball, I find the defense fun. I think it's a good game for those who want to take the ball easily.
  • Both Match-up and Team Press are strong, so the difficulty of defense has dropped considerably. That means it's difficult to attack. I think everyone will have a hard time to score goals at first.
  • There was one-on-one battle on the side in version 0.9.1, but it's no longer in version 1.0.0. Since it become always 1 on 2 situations, you also have to connect the pass with two more players.
  • If you go to the side, it will be easier for your opponent to catch you. If there is a player who can dribble, I think that person is amazing.
  • In PES, I can carry my opponent on my back, but with eFootball, I couldn't do that. The pass is no longer misaligned like version 0.9.1. The pass is misaligned compared to FIFA.
  • You have to be careful about the player's posture. You can pass exactly as long as the player is in good posture.
We were trying to pass before we got in good posture. Perhaps the pass does not shift even if you are in bad posture.
  • Since the controller settings have changed, I think it's better to go into training mode to get used to the button layout of version 1.0.0. I think you should get used to the new controller settings before doing Rank Match.
  • In PES, the attack from the center was strong, but in version 0.9.1, the side attack was strong. It was easier to have a player on the side. Ver.1.0.0 is difficult to dribble, so the side attack is not very strong. The defense made it difficult to give long passes to wide players.
  • I think most of the people who were playing version 0.9.1 were using 4-3-3. I think it's better to stop! Otherwise you will probably be in despair ...

I hope this is satire. The day we are charged to merely change the match length & difficulty is the day we are charged in game everytime we're about to take a shot on goal.

Damn, Son! I can only get so excited 😄

Pretty amazing that Konami got absolutely trounced last fall are still pretty much sticking to their guns. "We hear you, you obviously hated the gameplay and nothing else."
Would it kill them to just have their demo like experience 10 minutes and have more teams, or even add a bare bones league mode for people who don't like online? Apparently it would. Yeah they probably want to charge people for offline modes later, but there won't be a later if they have pushed everyone away. Maybe they are hoping they won't even have to bother with offline modes.
Whatever, I will try their new stuff tonight or whenever it's out for a laugh.

Yeah it would kill them. As they got to "Hold their breath" during 10 minutes.
(simple joke mate @Richie)

I'm thinking that the 5 min. matches are just like training mode for Online atm.
But i believe strongly that they will make Offline DLC. It's just believing not stating, nothing more don't jump on me please 🥶
