eFootball (All Platforms)

Who enjoys playing a football game on a mobile device? I mean seriously who?
A, right, the little kids who use their parents credit cards to buy coins.

Anyone who doesn't buy a pc/console for gaming and these people are still a huge demographic. You think selling 500 mil consoles must be a big market? The billions who didn't buy it is a bigger one! And the fact that everyone has phones that can now run games changes everything and makes them the biggest market. And they are easier to exploit with cheap tricks too, as they're just getting to know the worst version of gaming with all the microtransactions & gambling.

Yes its easy, everyone has mobile, everyone spends an ass ton of money on new mobiles every year which games can run on.
Latest Gaming PC and Consoles are not that much of a priority for everyone. But there is a bigger chance even a non gamer could have an mobile that runs everything even if the person dont game at all.

Going mobile is also a cost cutting decision by these companies. They want to make as much money as possible doing the less amount of work. It also gives these companies the incentive to push for more pricey dlcs, loot boxes, and other microtransactions. They know mobile users wont complain as much as those of us who primarily play on pc and console for our games.
Sure if you're looking at the traditional mobile game model. I do anticipate that changing somewhat, or even drastically, though when cloud becomes more viable (and it's absolutely going to be viable because they absolutely want it to be viable).

Don't let them fool you into believing it's all about giving mobile players the opportunity to have access to some of these titles via smartphones. It all comes down to how much money the can fleece from mobile players.
Well yeah companies want to maximize their revenue streams lol (shout out to capitalism). So yes it absolutely is about giving access to as many players as possible. There is no console that sells as well as mobile unfortunately.

There is also the issue of online only gaming which is tied to this as well. Then you also have the esports contingent as well with these sports titles.
Online gaming involves modes that maximize engagement. Maximizing engagement = more opportunities at additional and continual revenue. So much of game development feels like it's been reduced down to a science which is a shame.

I love esports. It just doesn't work with traditional sports games because the likes of PES/eFoot, FIFA, Madden, NBA 2K, MLB The Show, NHL, and UFC are supposed to be somewhat steeped in realism and honestly, realism and esports don't mix. And the focus on competitive modes has been to the detriment of the overall development of the a lot of the games I mentioned.

I have serious doubts about Coinami delivering any sort quality offline modes. The incentive isn't there.
It hasn't been their priority for over half a decade, it isn't going to change now. And that's fine. I just wish they'd just be honest with their playerbase and make the game they want and think we want and end this charade. They think online is so much more exciting? That the best part of the sport is 1v1s? Then make that game. And make it arcade. Stop pretending you care about the actual real life sport. Call it Street eFootball: Fight for NY since you wanna make a fighting game so badly.

Both @manmachine and @gabe.paul.logan echoing what I said earlier; there are billions of potential players out there. Many of whom may never own a traditional home console or PC. And game developers are absolutely going to try and tap that potential market. Hence why Phil Spencer won't shut up about cloud.

100% agree.
And his Voice makes me angry af 😅

"Neymarsitooo, let's open the 2000 coins Neymarsito pack... Ohhh yessssss I have Neymarsitooo, come on baby let's go Neymarsitooo !!!"

As a mention, I think the world is going entirely to shite, and with this modern cultural "progress" homo sapiens are doomed to experience live in person the movie Idiocracy.

You get crucified here for saying anything positive, but I'll go nonetheless: Speaking in terms of on-pitch gameplay only, not graphics and not the empty modes/content demo-like status of the game:

- Because Legend AI is more fun and fair to engage with than in PES.
- Because dribbling is better than in PES.
- Because passing is better than in PES.
- Because motion matching makes interceptions and defending better than in PES.
- Because the slower pace is much better.
- Because player inertia is much better
- Referee is a little better but still a mess

That said:
- PES has much better shooting
- PES has better ball physics
- PES has better keepers
- PES has better player switching, it's a shitshow in EF:

Things that are debatable:
- Yes, PES has more tactical options, but they're a mess and IMO tactical movement in EF is better, more efficient, and just smarter, and sometimes more flexible, like being able to have only one attacking fullback. Players in EF attack empty spaces that make sense without having to ask them to, while in PES I am left furious by players not moving into spaces they should be moving into.

Many of these points I only perceived after spending a month playing EF 1.0 then shifting to PES and feeling the difference, then shifting back to EF, so YMMV.
What kind of game are you playing or do you play in your imagination? This game has nothing good.inertia?it seems like tank football. IA total bullshit.

Player inertia are the same as PES 21 with input lag (so a small tank effect yes), not better.
There's no better weight shifting, it's the same.

Just the dribbling motions/animations related are better to me, and the running system.

About AI i can't tell as it's locked on regular, and on training mode players are never tired (so on, always reactive in awareness after running 2 miles a row)

Fortunately for those who got hope about the game future, input lag is something which can be reduced little by little. But personnally, i prefers a thousand times a bit of input lag than playing with flies (not talking PES 21 here, i could say "Fifa" as it's the best example since the 18, but some PES between 2012 and 2018 seems to weight like 10 years old 45kg kids with a man stature)

Brand manager for latino america is saying game is still on swaddling clothes, then what happened these 2 years of developping?

Player inertia means when you are moving in a certain direction, it takes longer to stop or change that direction depending on your speed, as your body continues to carry you in that direction for a little longer before you can come to a complete stop or change your direction.

they do not care about any offline mode, do not have high expectations

One serious issue is i think goalies are kinda broken when they come off their line. Its not the skill of the attacker but sometimes they run just pass the ball carrier without any tackling animation or whatever. Also i had numerous times when for high trough passess while they come off they just run under the ball again without any animation to try to reach for the ball.

Oh yes and sometimes they come off their lines without any request. Those are the best cases when they also miss the ball.

KONAMI should bring eFootball 2023 in November. Before this update we will have Season 3, probably only with additions for online. The biggest update is always going to be the annual update, i.e. kind of like the annual versions of PES.

These are the same sources that told me about Season Update and Free to Play 👀.
