Wonder what happened to Seabass, Kei Masuda and the other legends at Konami?
As you say, the suits at Konami must have moved them on to other things as they do in Japan. Same thing happened with Tomohiro Nishikado the maker of Space Invader in the 70s. They moved him after that game and he never designed another game for Taito.
Surely Seabass is not involved anymore?

Hmmmm, lots of passive aggressive posting in here of late. My experiences tend to be that of folk playing the game a fair bit are largely enjoying it (for what it is).

Still enjoying this while accepting it isn't revelatory or anything. Having a thoroughly decent online experience though do admit there is inevitably things that can frustrate in that arena.

Not conceded a cheap kick-off goal for ages now. I do like that the game does demand some pro-activity with regards to attack/defence levels and defensive line management, but do think there should be no need to be *that* switched on from a simple kick-off.

I dunno, I am just finding I can play some lovely stuff as well as defend reasonably well. You can set-up defensively well in this game but you do need the players, and I'm not talking about superstars, more the skills. I have Rensch as my RB and although only levelled up to 81 he is a mainstay in my side as he does have the blocker skill as an RB meaning he is handy at blocking crosses and just generally being a pest for even for the likes of paid for Neymar's out there. The GP version of Juan Foyth is great too. I do absolutely lose something on the offensive side with these players but using a quick counter manager but playing more possession based game means I get movement.

Julien Alvarez is mint once levelled up. really do like the Deep Lying Forward playing style he has. Currently seeing what I can do with Gouiri, who also has that playing style but is maybe a wee bit more useful with his nut.

Szoboszlai is truly immense though. My favourite player in the game currently.
 
Should also add that if folk are looking for a cheap forward who based on stats/skills doesn't look great but is very handy then Raspadori worth a look as he has weak foot usage Regularly and weak foot accuracy Very High. I've got mine at 77 ovr currently and he is a tidy wee dribbler.

Pedro Porro of Sporting Lisbon another with high weak foot ratings. Has unwavering form too. Danjuma worth investing in too.

Just find that it is actually a very effective trait in the game is having players with strong weak foot usage.

Every survey is useless. Konami will laugh if 5000 people will sign it and even in case a survey reached 1mln signatures Konami will maybe respond with:"don't worry, Master League is coming".

Pes is dead last year, just accept it. The Master League when it will be released (if it will be released in 2023) won't bring Pes back, because as it is now the gameplay is tuned to be played online and the huge flaws of online gameplay reflects on offline matches too.

To bring Pes back they should start from ZERO, like really from scratch, like it was a new IP, a REAL new football game. Completely new dev team, they should license the IP to a competent software house (if they don't want to develop it) with appropriate resources and investments, not an hint of bullshit Dream Team, Myclub, FUT modes.

Just noticed… the smoothest animations in this game are shown during the “new player card drawn thingy”, when “the cam” pans through the virtual stadium. All the effects and shenanigans are super fluid. That scene also features foot planting without any form of sliding plus detailed and proper shadowed grass!!

Offline yes, it's not a bad game. And it's far from what can do a mobile game let's be honest (when i saw the vid from their Mobile version, i was like "yes, i'm and some others were right. 100%"
PS4 game which evolve, but won't never be Next-gen in my opinion, as i don't see them rebuild a new engine not PS4-5 well let's say PS4 Pro based.
 
Oh please, for offline it's overall bad, infact very very bad game. Lack of modes, edit, 💩 performance, etc. While there's positive side like improvement on AI, i can say this game at this current state is total crap.

2 years for this... this is what pes/we fans deserve from konami
 
Enough bullshit from this develop team....this game atm is a pure cancer.... Maybe one solution is to send them to North Korea and try to avoid execution presetting this shit.. Maybe then we ll see real improvements.

I don't know what others user do, and how the do it. The leave me with no option to pass, the blocking all the possible paths, and they constantly steal the ball from me very easily.
Whenever I press [ ], to do a standing tacke, 9 out of 10 a foul is given.
Just by pressing X, my defender are making circles around the attacker and most of time a miss step and the attacker runs forward.
Playing offline I can do much better.
Is there any guide?
I am constantly loosing due to this.

I use the L2 a lot while blocking passing lanes, jostling & tackling.
Hard to get used to at the start but it's become second nature when to use and when to let go.

Yes. L2 here as well!
for what you said, getting a leg out (there are several animations to block and I like them), getting a leg in (in battles for the ball), shielding the ball or getting in defending stance. This is my main defensive arsenal of buttons. Add inertia of attackers and covering space plus lanes, moving the back line and using team mate press!
In EF, i dont use shoulder barge (my square button) or X a lot, in fact, only rarely.

My current button layout at the shoulder buttons plays out like the EA title.
 
By the way, they quietly want to kill this PES 2021 as soon as possible. They shut down the servers, it has been known for a long time.
But recently I wanted to move the stats of two players from 2022 to 2021 and got a slap in the face.
The individual goalkeeper stats in 2021 are higher, which gives a lower overall rating of 82.
In 2022, the goalkeeper stats are lower, but the overall stats are 86.

So for example 82 shot acuracy in eFootball 2022 is not the same shot accuracy 82 in PES 2021.

Agree, although I prefer offline I can cope with the dream team mode as there is some enjoyment with building your team albeit I would never pay for players nor do I agree with it. What I can't cope with is the total horse sh*t they've given us on the pitch.
 
But it's still too scripted. Most of passes are blocked, AI players are mostly first to get the ball etc. You can see that they do not treat it as a priority, it is because it is.
 
When it comes to defending Any 90 rated defender < Salah or Ronaldo or Neymar or any CF basically. Great. Makes total sense.
