You could do it in PES 18. If you were running at full speed, and you did a no touch dribble, the ball would slip out of your control.

That was exactly were you pointed out. If may also affect the power bar of passes. But well... Some will say it's separate / not related to physic, just that Konami gives a -5 in power if you don't run +5 in power if you run and + 8 if you double tap run. To make it very simple.

Which is not impossible neither. But that EF aswell as PES got a lot of relations with physicality on every part of the game (especially P21 Ball physics, no idea about EF22), so i suppose you're spot on, and it makes sense to me that they toned down or changed a bit the ball physics algorithms.
But that's how i feel and see the game. To me it's upper logic, for some is like i said above.

Some people don't even bother with feints whatsoever so they are lost im what im saying in just me mentioning this at all. There are people who just play very straightforward football. I master everything about the game to get most out of it. Efootball is brand new and will take time for it to fix its flaws and fine tune itself and us to learn whats possible. I still feel they arent 100% set on these controls even so we have a long way to go.

Made some videos last night on the manual passing and its a lot easier to do manual passes than on EF than PES 2021, it because its not as crisp and powerful at its base. When you use the stunning modifier it really does fly low and hard.

I was caught between saying PES 2021 was 100% better, its better because its perfectly refined and freed up. What i cant get over is how this efootball game reassures me something I had to accept about PES 2020/2021 which is, the pitch is still rather small and with how the movement is long range passing is rather predictable. I fully get this PES 2013 sense now with efootball where the pitch is finally huge again. I have to think about the switch of play much more.

What they have done isn't anything special. The movement of players is the biggest change in how you pass now.
 
Okay, not that anyone's asking for it, but some scattered thoughts:

I'm still enjoying it more than I thought I would. Granted, I'm not playing online vs sweaty teams full of stars yet. But the offline competition in Dream Team mode (I say "mode"; it's literally the whole game now... sad times) is giving a good opportunity to try out stuff against different difficulties.

Something I didn't realise at first is you can train your players to match the manager style expertise, somewhat like you could with team spirit before. And in typical Konami fashion, this is important, not obvious, and makes the game worse to play at the start (literally just how both Master League and myClub have been at the beginning of every game). I spent training points doing that on my squad of hopefuls first, and it costs barely anything (you can get many free training points by using the PS+ user bonus; perhaps it exists for other platforms too). I'm a bit worried the economy for training points will end up being pay-to-win, but we'll see... In fact, I'm pretty sure it will be.

Also: super cancel in defence. A lot of people are changing the R1 command to use SC without risking triggering team press. I've experimented a bit and think you don't need SC that much, at least not for positioning (maybe for max pace you might still?) That's a general feature: players don't feel as on rails now, so need less overriding. I was sceptical this would be the case, given that players were so "off the rails" in older builds that they were off/under the pitch entirely, skating everywhere, or invisible. But I do think there's a greater player freedom than in PES 2021 now, for whatever that's worth.

That said, I'm having a lot of success winning the ball by either holding sprint and direction towards ball carrier or L2 (match up) and getting close. It feels quite automated how in the vicinity of the ball carrier, you just zone in. It's like a magnetism. And for the love of God, I wish you could turn off the auto-tackles, which now seem more various and baked in. At least before there was the option to turn off automated tackling. I don't know why it's not there.

Final tip: if you haven't already, change the RS switch option to player-oriented (not ball-). Thank fuck they added this back in, because the switching system in previous builds, more than anything else, made them unplayable to me. I strongly suspect the idea was to make it easier for mobile players, because the ball would always be in the centre of the screen and players to switch to would be those closest in the vicinity to the ball. At any rate, now you can change to the older PES system, and it makes a big difference.

Why would the two be so intertwined on a technical level that the former requires a complete reset of the latter? Why are they themselves talking about the revamped ball physics and the work of the "research institutes". It seems to me like this is just their idea of good ball physics, no greater explanation needed.

You pretentiously act like you have some deep expertise on the subject when in reality you know sod all about the game's development, like the rest of us. Do wind your neck in.
 
Too soon, and first version too me. Won't even try. If the ball is floaty like PES 2013, it's a big no, i know you're fan of that version, but not me for tons of reasons.
I just see on every part too much how "streched to fit with the era/FIFA engine" the game is.
PES 2011 is less tactical but got physics a bit more logic. O.T. sorry, but i really don't want a PES 2013 ball physic in EF2002, please.
 
I wanted to make a separate post for this. It has to do with team shape, and I didn't think I'd be positively surprised by eFootball in this respect, but here we are. I wonder if @Matt10 has come across this yet?

As mentioned in post above, I maxed out my team's compatibility with "Possession Game" tactical style. I bought "P. Boer" (ten Hag), whose possession game skill level is quite high. When you look at the stat pane for possession game, it shows you how it works in different phases of play: including that in attack your line pushes up.

Now in game, I finally saw something I thought I wouldn't see in a modern PES game again: my team creep well into the opponent's half as a unit when attacking (not like the +2 all out attack option in PES where they lose shape). I mean that my AMF had pushed into the box, my CMF just inside/on the edge, my DMF just outside the D on the box ready for a long shot, my CB's deep into the half, fullbacks advanced. This is roughly how a good possession-based team actually applies pressure irl, acres of space behind all of them.

It only worked for me when +1 on attacking level, and the compression between front and back line was still not what I would want especially in transitions and defensive phases of play – so, unrealistic openness/no congestion as a rule. But still: genuinely a good thing for once.

Am I right in thinking this just does not happen on recent PES games? I can't recall seeing it.
 

Despite uninstalling this eFootball 2022, i will say the player models are the best we've seen. A step up from pes2021.
Also glad J-League license is back. Not that i often use these teams, but just seems crazy for a Japanese gaming company not being able to secure the national license, whilst Fifa had it.

Also, how about that awesome and interesting news that Holland was able to insert some values from efootball 2022 1.0 exe into pes2021.. Absolutely Cannot wait for the results.. Here's hoping player ID can some how be transferred into pes2021..

I don’t agree with the tone of your post but I do agree with the content.

It’s not surprising that the PES Universe crew are singing eFootball’s praises now. Dominos Pizzas and TheTrueBrexit are already at it on YouTube - I’m just surprised it took this long. They’ll be looking to profit from the game in some way I expect.

I also find Klashman’s posts extremely condescending, anyone would think he’s a developer on the PES games.
 
Aside from the difference of opinions about the game, is anyone here tried the game on both PS4 and PS5? Just want to know if there is major difference in terms of how smooth the game runs as well as the visuals. It's a bit stuttery on PS4 and the visuals haven't changed much from 9.0, it's so bad that it's kid of depressing :). Game feels a bit heavy too. I do like the game, assuming that it will and definitely need to be patched/updated soon.
 
I was part of PESUNIVERSE but just as a main Editor the 2 last years before EF2022 failure. I could've say that the game is shit if i wanted.
Didn't carried what the "boss" said to me about some stuff such as "konami don't like" etc., i know they needed me more than i needed them.
As i already explained.

I didn't liked PES 2020 that much (some build especially the latest). Well i hated so much FIFA 20 that it was at least playable to me.
But i liked PES 2021. Many here don't like it because of the AI, and i don't care, there's challenge and as much variety because i don't play always the same and with pass etc., i varies a lot too. Well challenge is what i'm searching for a CPU first.
And i'm playing quick, fast.

Klash is what you want, but ain't a "singer for Konami" at all, at least i didn't feeled it when we talked together.
Neither am i, neither some member are... You're right but about some of the "owners"... Not all the members.
I know it's not an insult but a remark mate but well, i'm just rectifying some stuffs.

What's depressing, is that we will got a PS4 game on PC/Serie X/PS5. I don't see it as a mobile game on console from vids.

Hoping for a turning point at a moment. The basis seems as solid to be "PS5X" upgradable.

Yes the team shape in this game is definitely better. With the addition of teammate press you can actually press like man city or liverpool which is not possible in pes21.
Just remember that your LWF/RWF will press even higher than LMF/RMF but they wont track back(including CF/SS) to defense deep. That will leave more spaces at the side of the pitch.
And avoid using long ball tactic as much as possible
 
How do you do the through feint? I can do the one were my player lets it thru his legs, but not the one were he chases after it.

Disappointed the removed the quick sub.

The more I play, the worse my defending is getting.

I dont have to show anything. Its the game, it speaks for itself. Actually play the game rather than show how pretentious you have become sitting here fishing for likes for every meme you can think of to throw at this game. That time has passed, feel free to contiune if you want and stay stuck in the past. There is a good game albeit with issues now with depth in movement that PES 2021 a game i love simply cannot do.

I have written facts on this dribbling system based on the evidence of what i have played. You control the player yes? Or so you control the ball by itself by magic? You create at a base for ball physics potential otherwise known as 'PES 2014' then all the actions the ba can peformed on the ball become dependant on the...

Wait for it...

Then you work out inconjuction with the numerous kicking functions how the ball should behave when the fuction is pressed along with the speed of movement the player is moving which was just two base speeds. PES 2015-2021 was tweaking and enhancing things every year until efootball on unreal engine rewrote the movement to include far more variables than just two speeds at a base.

So whats going to be provide more variables ball physics variables?

A game with two base speeds? Normal jogging and full speed sprint PES 2014-2021

Or

A game with 2-3 speeds alone just using the left stick, along with a gradient between fast jog and full sprint and to cap it all off a new global 'stunning' modifier?

Through PES Universe we gave feedback on what we wanted to see as long time community member in gameplay and in many visual aspects. Some of it was included which is great but all of us were let down by the shitshow last October, which they arent totally off the hook, i like whats there now. Why you seem so upset is your problem.

I'm a private person so i dont share all that i know about until it becomes reality. I heard about the Unreal Engine PES 2022 plans way back in late 2018.

This is your 3rd post now and all you done is dug yourself a bigger hole of being totally incorrect about the dribbling in efootball. :)

Yeah, I don't disagree, but it's expected them to do that because that is how they've built their channels. Spoony got a shoutout from Adam Bhatti a year or so ago so it is what it is. No shade thown here. That doesn't bother me as much as when gaming publishers use gaming channels as spokespersons for their games. Sending them gifts and other merch. Will that happen with these channels? Only time will tell. It wouldn't surprise me though if it did.

If people want to enjoy the game, that fine. Efootball ain't my thing due to Konami prioritizing online modes over offline content. That the direction they are taking this IP. At the end of the day, it's just a game.

He's just angry. He wants his brownie points and likes like he's used to hating on efootball, i have no issue with him being honest but he has to face the truth when hes wrong about something i know is in the game. :LOL:

I have played around 6 matches online with the dreamteam- team (?) and the game is OK. It's still some sort of demo in most ways but the gameplay is ok, nothing more nothing less.

There are some fantastic moments though. I have Kahn in goal and my opponent got the chance to unleash a stunning shot (haha, that name!) with Roberto Larcos, sorry I meant, Carlos and he absolutely smashed it. But Kahn made this really life like save with his left hand and it went out for a corner. When it happened it looked extremely realistic and was a shot and save I haven't really seen in a football game before.

The passing though, it's unfortunate that they made PA3 more assisted, its still not FIFA- assisted but its far too easy to just ping pong your way through the midfield making the midfield battles once again obsolete.

The dreamteam thing could actually be good if the game would have some sort of balance preventing you from ending up with a team consisting of only Mbappe, Neymar, Mess, van Dijk etc, etc which will be the case in a couple of weeks. Then the game will be FUT. It's of course what they want but the idea of different playing styles, grinding players in training etc is quite fun.

The best thing imo would be if the game would have some sort of fantasy football restriction. Like, if you have Neymar, Mbappe and Messi you can't have the rest of the team with equally good players. So the game force you to balance your team. That would add depth and actually make you think how you can optimize your team in regards to your playing style and players. Because now people will just stack the best players and online Dreamteam will be hell, hmm, next weekend should we say?

This is something I could never understand. Why not add some sort of a grind? Its so rewarding to build your team over time. Back in the beginning of Master League when after first season I could only buy 1 or 2 players and they were just slightly better than what had.. it was so rewarding to experience that slow progress..
I suppose its all down to spin balls, where they want you to buy packs and people nowadays find more joy in "unpacking" than in the actual game itself.
Its kinda like when we were kids collecting World Cup stickers and every time you were opening your new package there was a thrill what sort of stickers will you get..
Wish there was some separate division for Ents who dont care about any packs and just want to play, grind and have fun..
And another separate division for full manual players.. Maybe Id play it then..
New football games make me a sad Ent.

Ive played and uninstalled the pc/steam version. Is there any difference between the pc, ps4 and ps5 versions?? Or if anyone has the time/effort, any difference between the Eng and Japanese versions on ps4/5??

Its not free.. quite expensive really, but id prefer if PES went this route and continued charging for a mostly complete (all offline features available) game.

Ive actually got the previous version ebaseball ppb 2020, and if you like the series, the psVR is truely spectacular. Its the only reason i got the game.. best psVR experience ive had in a sports game, as you really feel youre in the ball park. Sorry for the off topic info :)
 
Honestly, i love this more with every match. Finally we got events under Dream Team and be able to play such as a Spanish League vs the AI for a week and earn GP. And i guess more similar to come. And with such a great AI we have now (especially on Legend) its a pure joy that i finally can play again football in a video game and build my own team in it. This is Master League Online and it has a grind to it if you dont apply pay to win. And what a grind because GP doesnt really come that easily (unless its a "sorry from the Admin" :LMAO: whatever that is), and player contracts last only 365 days so you better be ready with some GP by the end of the year to renew those contracts. Also players gain XP and you can level them up but i guess never lose them really just arent able to play for the team if you dont sign them again at the end of the contract.

And the gameplay is great, the AI is soooo varied im gonna cry really, you cant predict what it does, unless you open up areas in your defence, of course it will go for those. I see long goals, one-twos, crosses, through passes, dribbles, runs, penalties....and oh the physicality system is the best ever in any football game. As for the player ID, damn i can feel the only great player now in my team is the upgraded 83 rated Umtiti. He can match up with anyone in the game, he is strong, has amazing interceptions and always in good position. However as for the rest of the Barca youngsters, you can feel they are good and they can do some magic here and there but if they meet a top 10 team spanish team, they can easily be pushovers on the pitch, especially after 60 mins. Oh and yeah, Adama is great. He is fast and strong but thats it, other than that he is useless. Like in real life. Pure perfection.

Im gonna raise my bet. This is not the best PES since 2013 but the best since PES 6. This game is so back to the basics, so rigid, so simple, so automated that it is a fun to play...like an old PES. Recent PES games wanted to be so convoluted with 10 different tactical layers and such that on the pitch nothing really happened and the AI did the same 3 moves with every player..pass...turn...shoot. They were broken. Just praise the lord they dont mess up the gameplay because im gonna say it, the King Is Back. For me. No jokes, i already gave up on football games in the past 2-3 years, they were so empty. This one got a soul.

Now. One. More. Game.

ps -1: only thing we need is edit mode now to add those kits and club emblems and coach names
ps -2: can this be played online as coop yet or not?
