eFootball (All Platforms)

so its "just" the gameplay part that suffers...?
we will see... but i just cant think of them suprising us positivly. be it so, let me be wrong with my gut feeeling here!!!

btw: if the R-stick player switching really is gone... man, how am i supposed to control my team playing FUMA?! how?
Right stick player change is back. Right stick trigger runs is not.

ah ok. when you say its back... it wasnt in the NFG online test, right?
what about 2nd man fuma controls? will i still be able to control 2 player at the same time?
what about the tactics? still only a hand full of preset tactics?

This wont be PES 2014. That game was ahead of its time, it was just unfinished.

This crap is older that PES 2014 if you look at graphics and animations, its just releasing it with decade late.
PES 14 was ahead of its time. I was speaking in the context of the new features they seem to be trying out but the game being broken.
Lol it’s not older than PES 2014.
I think what you’re trying to say is that it’s not where you expect it to be graphically and in animation terms, which is pretty much what everyone is thinking. As well as the obvious dire state of the release version.
Stay safe

Yeah, we both agree direction is problem ... not current state, I would give another two years waiting if I knew something good will come out at the end .... But PES 2014 tried to be next-gen game, this thing is only f2p mobile game for a cash grab -- it cant be fixed in my opinion.

It's funny how the FIFA guys are already playing it via Origin (some are diving deep now into the career mode), exchanging opinions about how feels the gameplay, improvements or what's shitty about it (ironically knowing that FIFA officially releases after eFootball), and here we're still waiting for some F2P gameplay footage to show up (eventually), and imagining how it's based on articles or influencers who tested it... Why Koin-ameh? Why? :TUMBLE:

This is a very useful feature and prevents the AI from completely scripting my players out of position. Even though sometimes they decide to walk slowly during a counter.
I do not like Kimura.
Yeah, that was always annoying on the occasions they just jogged when I "asked" them to run. I have a feeling this only happened later in games though, so may have been tied to low stamina?

Yes correct, it wasn´t on the NFG, but its on the latest builds.
Regarding 2nd man, are you referring to 2nd man press (like [ ] button)? If so, that is gone, you will have to relly on defensive AI awarness, to fill the gaps.
Tactis still just that handfull. Like someone said, if that helps with AI, since theres less instructions running and clashing at the same time, i´m in for it, as long as they add some more presets along time.

Well just 6 days to test it.

Not at all. Happened right after HT in my last match.
Ah fair enough! Was hoping there'd at least be a logical reason (although poorly executed). Is that on PES 21 on PlayStation? I don't think that's happened to me so far on the 16 games or so I've played it. Definitely was an issue Pre-PES 20 (maybe on 20 too) from what I can remember.

I agree man. Sad state of affairs at present that a mobile game can take precedent to creating a worthy simulation for the most popular game in the world, and that the market caters for the former rather than the latter :/

21, PC, no gameplay mods.

This game reminds me of a PES 14. Will be a sh*t show on release, but I’m just not that confident this time they will get it right gameplay wise down the line considering their primary focus is mobile downloads, and online play.

It is PES 2014, so it's a epokemoncasinofootball 2022.0.8 Version.
PES 2013 is a old gen from the good seabass, why they removed the community cup for offline users why? PES 2012 is more complete. Stupid Konami.

Konami not allowing those who played it a few weeks ago to capture gameplay and the fact that still no official gameplay has been released tells me that they don't have much faith in their own product. They should be pulling out all of the stops to promote this game, instead they deliberately did the opposite.

Cheers mate, now I'll have the whole F.R.I.E.N.D.S theme playing in my head on loop for the next hour  What a banger tune though!
and it fits... somehow...

So no one told you (gaming) life was gonna be this way
Your PES's a joke, you choke
Your eFottball's DOA
It's like you're always stuck in second gear (thats PES)
When it hasn't been your day, your week, your month
Or even your year (...or 3 or 4 or 5...), but
I'll be there for you (thats us, the community!)
(When the rain starts to pour)
I'll be there for you (thats us, the community!)
(Like I've been there before)
I'll be there for you (thats us, the community!)
('Cause you're there for me too)
You're still awake at ten
Presentation began at eight
You've burned your old game disc's
So far, things are not so great
Your mother warned you there'd be days like these
But she didn't tell you when the world has brought
You down to your knees that
I'll be there for you (thats us, the community!)
(When the rain starts to pour)
I'll be there for you (thats us, the community!)
(Like I've been there before)
I'll be there for you (thats us, the community!)
('Cause you're there for me too)
No one could ever know me
No one could ever see me
Seems you're the only one who knows
What it's like to be me
Someone to face the day with
Make it through all the rest with
Someone I'll always laugh with
Even at my worst, I'm best with you, yeah
It's like you're always stuck in second gear
When it hasn't been your day, your week, your month
Or even your year
I'll be there for you (thats us, the community!)
(When the rain starts to pour)
I'll be there for you (thats us, the community!)

I'll be there for you (thats us, the community!)

not exactly back, its still there but works differently. As for runs, i think it still might be there:

I´m just responding based on the review i read, and podcasts i "saw". Someone already replied stating the diferences. Now if you want to choose a player far away you dont need to press several times on his direction, you just have to press longer on his direction, it now works much like the passing system worked, whereas if you pressed longer it was aimed for the distant player.

Regarding the trigger runs someone asked that question specifically, and the answer was, they dont exist anymore. That image you are shouing looks like the manual modifier of old games, or something that you can activate on the options to be visual, the same as the circle below players.

One thing i was wondering, now that since this is a almost Always online experience, did they fixed the people who slows connection so that the game goes down without counting a loss or Win? Did they fixed the online play connection that plagued the series since always? The slughish gameplay, the 1 second input delay when playing online? Because now , and since this is a F2P game you will have much more people trying it. a BIG BIG "LET´s HOPE" that since this is a F2P platform they at least have servers like EA. But hey its Koinami so we never know.

Why all the gameplays in Hong Kong appeared in a video?
They should release already the official Arcade Machine.

Dont give them ideias, or they might just create a casino APP (different from Efootball "creative team" mode), and you gamble for E-Coins, but to play is with real money. You pay 0.10€ and roll the whell, and you might win 1000 e-coins, if you hit the jackpot. :LMAO:

Yea, I've saw that 'excel' file posted here before and the author states that:

yes!! - you now select players based on BALL position and not from currently selected defending player

And I'm bit confused, earlier someone said that you cant change player from, lets say, AMF to CB directly to avoid long balls spam. Seems like we need to wait and see.

As for runs and my screen - I have no idea what that white 'triangle' does, that was my blind shot.

Last part - connection. They switched to server in the middle instead of P2P, so I DO HOPE that lag pedals, 1 bar games, disconnections are no more.

F2P isn't an issue at all. Cross-gen is. Every game is a cash grab, but some are more obvious than the others.
If it's completely bad, it won't grab any cash at all. Also, when i see all the controls, the Trigger pushing, and the right stick, i'm asking myself that "How Mobile users will play with all those controls?" Well, personnally i would need a controller to put on my phone of course if i was a Mobile player (only played Angry Bird... And one half time on PES 19 mobile, just by curiosity) So even with reduced controls (for choice, 2nd pressing is replaced by a stat i already talked about : it's more an "Esport" issue than a mobile one as it's replaced by Tackling : so all buttons remains there... Double Pressing even Triple became too effective. They decided to replace it by a stat depending the player pressing IRL, which will be controlled by the AI. So you will get for example more pressing by Vidal than i don't know, Di Maria)

PES 2014 wasn't a so good idea to me, barycentre for exemple is like my "old friend" said "i don't know if it's a good idea to put directions to your players with both sticks... Like an obligation" i said to wait before it.
And he was right. It's annoying and if you really want to understand the game, you got to move and do everything with both stick. Which is very uncomfortable in fact. It was a feature i readed here used to defense, but it isn't! Try it while you're controlling, you'll see how big the impact that feature was while dribbling.

Gameplay is also controls, buttons etc. not only what happen on the pitch. Feeling. I liked PES 2014 as a "demo" but was very very annoyed by the Barycentre direction : it's not an FPS where you got the two sticks and only focus on triggers and L/R buttons, sometimes on the others but rarely.
Every buttons on the game was important. Switching after a double moves with the both stick to pass or shoot...

Well, it totally a Kojima but version "Death Stranding" stuffs. Where walking is easier IRL than in game.
Barycentre was a good idea, but if everyone gotted 14 fingers or 3 hands. That's my point about all that "Barycentre was something great" etc. etc., well no, not really, in terms of OVERALL CONTROLS.
Simulation terms one thing is sure : you gotted to wait a movement to enchain another. That's the only big thing which make a big difference and what i can call "Simulation". But too much bugs, keepers very weid, awareness when a ball was loose awfull etc. well.

@The_Knight : Hello Konami, can you please send me a review copy of your product and make a realism review on it to inform the entire EvoWeb community?

@Koinami : OK, sure !!! here... (two muscular guys losing their breath and sweating, trying to push it through the door into his apartment...)

Next, I'd like to ask you about the game content. This time, the concept is "the evolution of the 5 meter area around the ball", what was the idea behind this?

Kimura: Over the past 20 years, "PES" has evolved to allow for a variety of controls. In addition to manipulating the players involved in the ball, we've also made it possible to move the players to cut off passes and destroy spaces to prevent them from being thrown in. As a result, the emphasis gradually shifted to areas other than offense and defense around the ball. That was one direction, but at this time, we decided to revise all of that and go back to the basics to make it more enjoyable to play around the ball.

t's true that you can perform much more detailed operations when you have the ball in attack than when you're defending, right?

Kimura: That's right. By combining the strength of the left stick and the R2 button, you can perform a variety of moves, from slow dribbles to full-on dashes. The defenders, on the other hand, have to keep a little distance and read the various attacks to deal with them.

The game is very realistic, isn't it?

Kimura: However, the defenders are delayed by a few tenths of a second compared to the real players because they have to use the controller, so if we adopted the same control system as the attackers, they would be at a disadvantage. This is why we introduced a game-like element called "matchup. As long as you hold down this button (X button + left stick), the game will automatically pressure you when an opponent with the ball is nearby, or block your passes or shots. In addition, the same controls are used for both attackers and defenders to perform "body contact" (when attacking) and "charging" (when defending). In short, you can use your body to prevent the ball from being stolen or to go for it. The more you can use it, the more interesting the competition will be.

I think it's so much more convenient than before. On the other hand, I was so confused that I asked myself, "Do I have to move the players around me?

Kimura: We've reviewed all the defensive controls so that players can concentrate on the game at the edge of the ball as much as possible. We also introduced matchups and invited several professional players to test play the game to adjust the balance, and made a number of adjustments.

This is the first time you have used the Unreal Engine.

Kimura: One thing that's easy to understand is the expressiveness of the graphics. The overall visuals have been greatly enhanced, including the ability to express the detailed movements of the supporters filling the spectator seats. Also, the engine can be used on all types of hardware, so the development benefits of being able to create for PlayStation 5, PC, and mobile devices all at once were immeasurable.

As you mentioned, this game is also characterized by its cross-platform development, including mobile phones. However, aside from the visuals, I think there will inevitably be differences in the controls for different hardware.

Kimura: The way I see it, instead of customizing a single work for each hardware platform, "eFootball 2022" will exist as a digital platform, and home consoles and mobile devices will be the devices to access it. That's what we're aiming for. We want to make sure that the basic game experience is the same on all hardware, and we plan to make it possible to connect a controller to play on mobile devices in the future

Is it taking a lot of time to adjust the balance?

Kimura: To tell you the truth, we originally planned to release the game in time for the creative team. However, the quality of the matches, including local matches and online battles, has reached a level that we can deliver ahead of schedule, so we decided to release the game ahead of schedule so that people can play it as soon as possible. We hope to gradually add new modes and specifications in the future.
