eFootball (All Platforms)

So with all ties severed, a complete kick in the face after years of loyalty, and PES being officially dead, why wont you name names Chris? You don't owe anybody at konami anything. [And all the konami people i have ever spoken to, Adam, Asim, or any of the other shrills, have always the been the most defensive, aggressive, butthurt bunch of pissboils i've ever dealt with]

I'm fed up of this hyper PC world we now live in where people aren't allowed to voice opinions, because someone else may get upset that people dont agree with them, last time I looked we live in a democracy, freedom of speech, if i have a view on something and it offends you, then thats your problem, not mine, but society today frowns upon anyone who has the balls to be open and honest and say what they feel, apparently we are all meant to toe the line, and say whatever is the kindest most acceptable thing, even when its a complete crock of shit and untrue.

Snowflake culture, pussybitch little kids who love the mental health bandwagon when they don't get their own way, and this is the audience Konami have now greeted with open arms.

49 year old here, as pissed off with this company as much as anyone, but you’ve over stepped the mark here mate. I can tell you from the experience of suffering a mental breakdown that nearly ruined my life, cost me 3k in therapy fee’s, numerous counts of medication and a whole 2 years of contemplating not even being here, you need to refrain from stereotypical generalisations.

Im still recovering and loving my life but mental health is a serious issue and you should take some time to educate yourself as to its meaning and consequential impact at all age range.

No hard feelings but do me a favour buddy and have a read up on some real life experience’s.

stay safe

I know people are losing hope, but I still have high hopes for when they actually start using Unreal engine 5, that will be a big turning point especially in gameplay and graphics, the advance technology will already be there for them. So they need to be really incompetent to screw that up.

well, ive read all the comments above and rather than commenting on each one and escalating it all, I'll just accept the comments and apologise once again to anyone who was offended, it was inevitable really wasn't it.

And at this point in the game, anyone associated with konami or who has been in the past and continues to hype and lie, doesn't deserve respectful communication. but lets leave it there.
Only here to discuss the game with like minded people, so whilst am totally entitled to my opinion, whatever it my be, I appreciate the rant wasn't worded the best.

I'll do better, apologies.

Whilst i was hoping to draw a line in the sand and leave it there, I'll reply to this as I think its important to.
Im sorry to hear you suffered mental health issues mate, and I genuinely do have compassion for those that have, my point, again lost in context due to the poorly worded ran t, was that these days, and i dont think anyone can truthfully argue this, the 'mental health' banner gets waved around way too easily and too blasé by way too many, mainly the younger generation.

Kids are brought up in todays world of instant gratification, where they want everything immediately, with minimal work, and when they dont get their own way, or want attention then they use this banner as it makes them feel better.
But there are genuine people out there who do suffer, i realise that, and I wasn't criticising these poeple, just the ones who attempt to jump on the hashtag like some growing trend.

Anyway, id rather leave the political/personal stuff aside now, i've apologised, and am not afraid to take responsibility and admit when I've spoken out of turn, rather than trying to back myself up.

Back to the real matter at hand-

I was just thinking: As much as Konami wants to stay ahead of the competition and going this Free To Play route because they think it's the future of gaming. They really seem to struggle to keep up with the pace of the other game.

Because while the other game has already put out an interview with the developers with gameplay footage, and Pitch Notes that explain every aspect of the new features, with new footage. Konami, after 2 years without releasing anything new at all, have only been able to put out a 6 minute trailer with barely any gameplay or game modes features in it at all.

Contradictory in itself.

On one hand they want to show 'eFootball' as this revolutionary project. The future. On the other hand, they aren't able to show anything and are sticking to their old ways of showing glimpses of the game month by month?.

One would think they wanted an aggressive strategy. Going all-out, attacking potential consumers every other day or week with information, footage, pictures from last week to release day. But, what would I know?. I'm just a nobody.

Guys, sorry but that negativity kills me, i don't even wants to answer. And i don't work with Konami lol FAR from it,
I'm in the same case, on the same page as @chiefrocka4real

I'm the one who prefers PES 2020 and 2021 and than the previous version, even if it's called efootball... To me the game gets improved in all areas, except the R2 vs stick that i'm not a big fan. So about post on PESuniverse, check on "tweets and answers" i don't know but it was a new interview, not the one from IGN. If you can found it, perhaps it was removed from what i know... But i'm not the kind of guy who chase every news.
I'm just a bit tired to debate about a ghost that we can't only see his silhouette.

I'm WAIT for the game release, and we're FAR from that, Automn, please. What i believe is the trailer was completely fucked off, they can't release something even lower than PES 2019-21 on PS5. That's my logic + Konami's marketing except from one or two version was always shitty. But you're perhaps right, i'm perhaps wrong.

You're talking all like you're sure of, which is a thing i hate. Who has put a finger on PS5 X PC version? No one HERE ffs.

Last word here before we really, i mean REALLY knows stuffs.
Be patient and don't trow on the toilet a 20 years old franchise because the format and name as changed, and trailer was bad.
Just.
Wait.
For.
More.
Info.
(before burrying the game, the name of "efootball")

I understand now why i was only posting on editing. It's impossible to talk with some recoil on this kind of thread, there's negativity everywhere.
Look at the alternative with Sonic Neymar, that's the real game practically finished on PS5. That's what you will get for sure on your PS5.
And to me, FIFA is dead since the 15, i just don't feel it, i already explained how stats works and why i hate that feeling of randomness we got less before.
The 16 was "fun" but too easy, too fast in passing, i tried with and without slider offline but no, i still got a problem with Ignite.. Aswell as Frosbite. I prefers PS360 era by far.

But efootball/pes, nothing is sure. The issue is they feeled obligated to release a trailer as fans asked again and again, and Fifa was giving info in the same time. There's too much bugs for me, only the CRonaldo face and no GK from long view told me that it's obvious they showed a cross-gen match or unfinished stuffs. Now believe what you want, speculate as it's a forum so it's normal, but i'm out until we get more info.

And even if it's positive, you will search the bug. It's became like that here since they've missed the PS3 gap. You see things i don't see, and there's way too much exaggeration. Not my thing / way too think.
So, please, listen at least to that, and just... Wait. Yes again the same words, but some are so stubborn, even if the game is good they will transform it into "bad", like you've did with PES 2019 to 2021. Even PES 2017, just check the old thread. Even PES 2013.
Even PES 5 and 6 (personnally i don't hate the 6, but it's not at all my favorite version). We must admit we will never be totally happy and we like to yell at devs, i include myself in the equation.

Now i'm older, and try to see things differently. That's why i repeat, i've said i'm in the same position as chiefrocka. I accept change as long as it's not messing up the rest, but never makes conclusions about a hints like "they're focusing on Online = CPU will be very bad". That doesnt mean anything, it's not "=" at all, you don't have the word of the people working on AI and CPU but from the chief of Konami/efootball development.

And if you ask me, yeah i'm a bit pissed, but there's a reason. I read too much dumb conclusion, and things i completely disagree, or stuffs who were good or not bad before that becames bad now. Like "i prefers PES 2018 now" Please, you can't say that for exemple referee are bad so you don't like PES 2021, and put PES 2018 on the table were referee were... Inexistant. It's an example, i don't trow an arrow on anyone. But a bit of objectivity between that hate shouldn't be too much.

See ya in end August, then on Automn mates. I'll be present, but on PES 2021 editing area, i prepare something big, well at least which demands a big level of research, and that would be valid for any football game you could Edit. It's linked to the database errors, there's a lot (aswell in FIFA) but i check myself. Height/weight and wrong foot, etc. there's tons of mistakes in both games you're talking about "realism" but in fact, you play with a player with the same name, but not the same height, weight, foot, position, and even face (some share the same name and are misunderstood one with the other)

Okay, let's not go too far. I feel like someone's about to break out a guitar and sing a song about sharing.

But seriously, really appreciate the follow-up @xPJRx. You had me worried there.
Big enough and ugly enough Chris to know when I should have used different words, to vent my passion, I am a good person, certainly not 'unhinged' (lol) and have plenty of respect and compassion, just also have very strong beliefs and views and am not afraid to say them.

I'm one of the older ones, with over 20 years playing PES, so should have known that forum text can be taken out of context, as theres no 'delivery or tone' to just words, so was important I held my hands up and acknowledged that :TD:

Not sure if it's a cultural thing, at least in part.
I work in a senior position for a large Japanese company, and they are so laid back, very big on family values, morals and work/life balance, there's never a blame culture, and strict deadlines etc i worry about, they just brush off, so not sure if this mindset plays a part in their lackadaisical approach to marketing and developing?

Seems around 2011-13 when the dev team changed at Konami, and seabass was no longer lead producer, that the whole mindset of PES productions changed, starting with the introduction of RPG like elements to PES13 ML, with the magic water bottles and shot power boosting boots etc, a farce that Adam Bhatti even went mad about, which is hilariously contradictory to the spew that he hypes up all over twitter these days.

@Chris Davies talking to disappointed Pes fans:
5rbmKfyb2Iiq.gif

People who know me know that I lost my shit on social media on few occasions with Konami and their reps/partners/you name it.
Im blocked by one or two of them and unfollowed the rest for my own mental health.
As much as I like to vent every now and then - it never got me anywhere.
Have fuck all followers (not that I care) and no inside contacts.
My (almost pathological) pride and principles were always getting in the way. If I felt lied to, or felt that me (or Evo, or any of my friends) were treated unfairly - I was usually losing my shit. Burnt few bridges that way.
And as much as I regret nothing - its not really a way to go. Not if we want to taken seriously.
Some will say - we have nothing to lose anymore anyways - Pes is dead.
But its not even about Pes anymore.
We are a great community, full of really smart, talented and cool people.
Giving away names, going to war with Konami peeps, social media rants- its not going to change anything and can only push a lot of people away from the site.
Evo is already (very unfairly) perceived as community full of toxic wildlings with pitchforks and torches. We should not prove them right.

If constructive criticism wasn't mixed with "hate" and non-sense unconstructive post just saying "PES is dead, f**ck Konami", it should be easier for a non-evo member who read this thread to make the part between the good, the bad and the ugly. EDIT / There's also constructive posts and logical, but mixed with bad words. So... Personnally if i read some guys repeating to "f**k vialli82 at each page, childishly, believe me that i won't listen to anyone here, i will switch elsewhere as if you let people saying this, in my opinion even if you're good and disagree with that, to me you're a bit responsible and accomplice to me.

But to do constructive, you need to get something more than what we got from "info" now: it's crossgen, we will got dlc, and it's F2P.

I try to use logic too, but it's perhaps too positive for your own view(s) (to me it's objective but well, real objectivity never existed) / even if i think there's more logic than so many negative even constructive posts. It's litterally the beta version from PS4 which was shown to me from the trailer, with differents angles to make it more cinematic, sincerely i don't see any difference. But one thing is sure, the absence of keeper, Cr7 face which is with Juve, a partner from PES, shows how buggy or unfinished the version of the trailer was/and probably the Mobile vs PS4 or PS5/PC version we saw.

There's a big difference between saying the trailer does not show the finished article (that's obvious, the game is still in development) and there being some incredible truly next-gen version with advanced physics and animations that for some reason they haven't shown a single glimpse of. I think people are trying to use these weird aspects of the trailer as evidence for the amazing hidden build, but it's more likely evidence of incompetence and a team struggling to bring things together in time for release. It's very similar to the situation before the trailer, everyone who thought NFG was the actual game recognised that it would improve (and it has improved, even in the trailer Messi has a better model for example), but given how much time is left they aren't likely to be revolutionary changes, it's still going to be pretty close to NFG and so it's best to prepare yourself for that eventuality.

Also, after everything that's come out, have you seen any official source talk about "photorealism" or anything like utilising the full power of next-gen consoles? As far as I can tell they've completely dropped any pretense of that, and that is probably telling in itself.

Another thing is people saying that maybe we haven't seen the next-gen footage since it's "still early". Look at what we had by comparison for PES 2014:

Notice the date (Jun 29, 2013). And that was when they hadn't just taken a year out to work on it and it was a completely new engine not used in any other version of the game. It's ridiculous to think that if there was anything better we wouldn't have seen it by now.

I never read super upper photorealism from others guys even the one i've posted (he even sayed not "teaser level" which wasn't photorealistc at all so...)...
Didn't read elsewhere btw what you're saying, of course as a feedback from the PS5 "real" beta.

BUT, and it's a big one "but" : Konami presented that trailer visually mentionning that aspect. It's like there's a decalage between words used to describe the game and the trailer.
That's what's really weird, looks like one guy done the trailer, and another completely separate have added some pictures.
And marketing says well whatever we release it like this, we got no time, the president said "that date" we got no choice. The trailer is not only the worst, but also the most absurd as the words doesn't fit with the images.

Or they're over confident about the game, or they just trowed the trailer like they've got nothing to loose or care, or my favorite option, is that the delay of what the new president asked (he seems much more severe than the previous one) said "You release something. Or you're fired" and they rushed like fool to create that... Thing they call trailer

I don't say anything. We don't say anything. Just wait for what it will really purpose in the future before speculating too much
It's only out in "Automn" no confirmed date at all btw, it says what it says. We know what we should know (ML in 2022 on DLC, other modes vs CPU at launch etc.)

I'll give a try at online for once. If i never really played online on PES, that's because of the servers quality. If they reach Fifa quality, why not, i got a lot of friends who don't buy football games and will ddl that one for sure.
"Ha it's F2P? I don't pay anymore for football games. I'll give a try then" that's their words, in synthesis. Online isn't a bad thing / Even if for my own comfort i prefers to play offline as even on friendly match, my mood change when it cames to a VS lol, i hate to lose... Against an human.

I've made a lots of competitions in the past, friendly often, and sometimes with a price, but offline, from ISS to PES6 and after on FIFA (but i didn't got the same level as i had in PES)
From PES 3 to 6 i played often with Belgian an European champion, and it was 60/40 for them so...
But i'm not made for cup, more for league, as one day i'm in, one day i'm totally off, it's all or nothing. I'm a bit like Recoba lol on PES PS2 era lol, one day green, the other red arrow. Sorry for the "my old PES life" off thread.

a lot of bad mood around here (me too at first) but after several days I think let's wait for what come the end of August. They fucked up the reveal trailer but I am one of this generation that had seen a lot BS from Konami in the past decades...

this game is going to be a game as a service with much more base and that's a good part at first. remember when a new pes come out and we know the essential bugs will not fix the whole year (manual L2 for example) but with this new model this could be fixed much faster. The Whole online experience was absolutely bad and now we get crossplay and dedicated servers.

don't fall the other game gameplay trailer, they looked always nice the last years but it plays totally crap and for PC and last-gen consoles it will be the same shit as every year.

my last hope is the end of August with much more to present and I don't know why but I think until the end of Q1 2022 Konami will deliver something really good. I remember that a lot of people here could accept a year off for a better pes and now we are in a total revamp of PES / eFooball series from start on and i think that could be really good in the end.

The Game will be F2P so what could happen ? I've never spent 1 cent in Myclub but had a great Team and fun (if i find an opponent online)
would i spend money for modes and leagues? - Yeah i will because i spend 40€ every year on the game and don't need all leagues and modes.

I am pretty sure that Konami doesn't take 10€ for 1 League or 30€ just for Master league. we will see.

community stand back and stand by - this whole thing could be the right way to go....

You guys are saying that we are waiting for next gen fottage in August :O :D ??!!?

I don't think any of us would be dumb enough to venture saying anything at this point.

Next-Gen graphics or gameplay may or may not be in the game at all.
Also, maybe just the stadium shots and cinematics could be next-gen and then scaled down in the gameplay view.
Nothing's certain. And I have my doubts that we'll really know everything about it by the end of August.

You guys are saying that we are waiting for next gen fottage in August :O :D ??!!?

They said : "you'll get more info in august", but they've finally leaked some stuffs as people were yelling.

I don't believe we'll see any footage neither. They're pretty late. Their situation and 2 years plans became a 2 years and half/3 years due to circumstance.
Like every others games or movies in fact.

No offense guys, but how can you still expect next gen footage? The trailer footage is how the game will look on Ps5! That's it. The beta already showed how the game is going to be on Ps5 and it's awful. Why are you still expecting some next gen fooage?

Wait and see, don't affirm please, no offense neither. It's the first "cross-gen" game on PS5, and it's looking even uglier than PES 2021.
That's why we suppose. But we don't affirm.
Personnally i believe it's a cross-gen footage, not a PS5. Whatever... I got my logic, you got yours, point

because that was clearly an early stage of the build, think LODs are far behind what will be possible, no grass, no moving kits, no moving goal net, the game is just not polished. whatever we will see in the future what we have seen in the trailer was not a finished product... iam confident

It was super rushed and you don't need to be a programmer or devs to see it. Nothing was right, and PS4 version or PES 2018 looks better. A so big downgrade is to me, just impossible, on a new console generation. New : you create something worste graphically/animations/physics and all than the old gen, that's makes no sense to me but well.
Don't tell me "and PES 2008?" PES 2008 was at least better graphically, and there's more animations than on PES 6.
BTW i replayed that game, it's very very similar to PES 6 in terms of gameplay, but much more dynamic and harder to defend because of it / so more speedy overally in terms of passing flow.

Big issue is that graphics didn't matched at all with gameplay at all, and the ball was smaller, the pitch bigger etc., it's the most PES 4 ressembling game from the 2008-2010 gen.
But the most atrocious was PES 2009, i don't know what they've done, it's all attack. Worst PES by gen WE8, PES 2009 and PES 2016 to me / even if it's the first we could import images, one shot > one goal, all straight shots super heavy, keeper react 1 sec later, no referee. Sorry for the off thread.

I personally do not fall because of any trailer.

The biggest buyers of those companies are the little kids who buy points ,
And yes they will fall because of FIFA trailer .
And no it does not change so much that "pes" will be free , marketing is A very important thing To continue the same game year after year .
